An Investigation of the Speech Skills of Children Living in Rural and Urban Areas
Communication is vital for children’s development, especially in differentiating rural and urban speech skills. The aim of this study is to investigate the speech skills of children living in rural and urban areas. The speech skills of 72 students attending the 8th grade in rural and urban areas of Iskenderun in the 2020-2021 academic year were examined. In the study designed with the screening model, the data were collected with a structured observation form. The video recordings of the speeches made by the students on the topic of “human and nature” according to their levels were taken and evaluated according to the “Speech Evaluation Form”. The results of the present research revealed that the highest average scores of the students belonged to the sub-dimensions of applying the external structural elements of the language, applying the internal structural elements of the language and the psychological state of the speaker. In addition, it was determined that the students’ speech skills were at a moderate level, whereas their ability to briefly introduce the parts of the speech, to start the topic with interesting expressions, to use appropriate tools such as pictures, graphs and photographs that can make the speech interesting, to use proverbs, idioms and aphorisms suitable for the topic, to benefit from literary devices suitable for the topic and to summarize the speech were very low. Urban students demonstrated comparatively stronger speech skills, highlighting the value of targeted improvements in communication education
After-School Service in Chinese Primary Schools in the Context of the Implementation of the Double Reduction Policy: The Current State, Problems, and Countermeasures
In February 2017, the Ministry of Education of China issued the Guiding Opinions on Optimizing After-school Service for Primary and Secondary School Students. The State Council released the Opinions on Further Reducing the Burden of Homework and Off-Campus Training for Compulsory Education Students (also referred to as the Double Reduction Policy) in July 2021. The release of the Policy sparked wide concern over after-school service for schoolchildren. It is believed that after-school service has the potential to increase educational capacities of the school, reduce parents’ burden, and promote all-round development of students. Nevertheless, a number of issues need to be addressed in current after-school service in Chinese schools
Optimization Strategies for Primary School Students’ Homework Design in the Context of “Double Reduction”
The Ministry of Education’s policy of “double reduction” aims to decrease the burden of homework and off-campus training for students in compulsory education. However, reducing the burden of homework cannot lead to a decline in learning quality. Therefore, optimizing homework design has become the focus of frontline teachers. This study analyzes the problems of primary school students’ homework design based on frontline teaching and management practices. It proposes optimization measures for primary school students’ homework design under the “double reduction” policy. Teachers should study the relevant concepts of homework design under this policy background and fully implement the homework management system. They should also innovate the layered operation design mode, control the number of operation design, establish an effective management feedback mechanism, and facilitate efficient communication between families and schools. The study highlights the increasing importance of cultivating students’ core literacy ability, which necessitates the adoption of new forms of education and homework design. Therefore, teachers should design homework that enhances students’ interest in subject knowledge, makes homework design more effective, and improves the quality of homework design. To achieve this, teachers should combine textbook knowledge with real-life examples, innovate the form of homework design, cultivate students’ comprehensive ability, liberate students from mechanical training, and enable them to consolidate basic knowledge in the practice of subject homework. This approach will improve the comprehensive training ability and core quality of students
Preliminary Exploration on the Application of 5G+VR/AR Scenario in Teaching - Taking the Lesson “Crossing the Currency Town” of Financial Literacy Education as an Example
The application of 5G technology in education is a major challenge in creating a new teaching ecosystem. The use of 5G+VR/AR scenarios in teaching is still in the theoretical exploration stage, lacking practical cases for education. This paper discusses the practical thinking of 5G+VR/AR scene intelligent teaching, providing cases of 5G+VR/AR classroom application to promote intelligent teaching in the direction of visualization, intelligence and scenario-based learning. Yizhou Primary School developed a curriculum resource “Crossing the Currency Town” that combines financial literacy teaching with 5G+VR/AR scenarios. The school built a 5G+VR smart cloud classroom based on the 5G network and VR/AR intelligent devices, educational terminals, and network devices to create an immersive and real-time teaching scene.
The implementation of intelligent teaching requires the construction of an intelligent environment through the use of intelligent technology to improve the learners’ classroom experience and realize the interaction and cooperation between teachers, students, and machines. Intelligent equipment can also conduct multiple evaluations and monitor students’ learning effects in real-time, generating accurate analysis reports of the learning situation. The data collected can provide resources for personalized recommendation of intelligent teaching and generate intelligent and personalized learning programs

A Meta-Analytic Reliability Generalization Study of the Computational Thinking Scale
This study aims to analyze the reliability generalization of the computational thinking scale. There are five dimensions of computational thinking: creativity, algorithmic thinking, coopera-tivity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. A Bonett transformation was used to standardize the reliability coefficient of Cronbach’s alpha. A random-effects meta-analysis was conducted since the heterogeneity among the studies was high. Results supported the RG of the computational thinking scale and its sub-dimensions, which were calculated as 0.843 for general, 0.799 for creativity, 0.848 for algorithmic thinking, 0.863 for cooperativity, 0.799 for critical thinking, and 0.817 for problem-solving. Besides that, the moderator analysis was conducted for the sample type, test length, country, and language of the study. According to the findings, there were no significant moderator effects on the reliability estimation
