The Development of Mathematical Model Consciousness in Junior Secondary Students: A Lesson Study of the Instruction of Congruent Triangles
The Compulsory Education Course Standards for Mathematics 2022 have highlighted the educational objectives of junior secondary mathematics by emphasizing the development of mathematical competence and practical learning. Model consciousness, as one of the fundamental mathematical competencies to be developed at the junior secondary level, can facilitate students’ comprehension of the universal application of mathematics. Teachers of mathematics in junior high school should construct effective classroom activities based on the cognitive qualities of their students in order to enhance their mathematical model consciousness and comprehension of the substance of mathematics knowledge. This paper is a lesson study of the education of Congruent Triangles, and its purpose is to investigate strategies for fostering mathematical model consciousness among junior high school pupils

Sports and Alzheimer’s Disease: The Role of Physical Activity in Cognition Health
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is an advancing neurodegenerative condition distinguished by a gradual deterioration of cognitive functions, including memory impairment and diminished functional capabilities. The issue presents a substantial global public health concern, as there is a growing prevalence of affected persons annually. In the pursuit of innovative strategies to delay or mitigate the beginning of AD, scholars have turned their attention to the exploration of physical activity as a potentially fruitful area of study. This review aims to investigate the correlation between engagement in sports activities and the development of AD. It will analyze the potential advantages of physical exercise on cognitive well-being and discuss the significance of these findings for strategies related to the prevention and treatment of the disease. We integrate data derived from epidemiological investigations, clinical trials, and neuroscientific inquiries, thereby emphasizing the existing body of knowledge in this pivotal domain

The Impact of Family Background on Subject Selection in Senior Secondary School Students in the Context of the Reform of College Entrance Examination: An Empirical Study Based on Survey Data from Zhejiang Province
Subject selection is one of the key components in the new college entrance examination system. This study analyzed the data from a sample survey of college entrance examination participants in Zhejiang Province between 2017 and 2020 using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, cross analysis, and binary logistic regression in an effort to research into the impact of family background on subject selection and academic achievements in senior secondary school students. Research findings showed that: (i) Students from families of higher social and economic status were more likely to be academically high-achieving; (ii) Student family background had a significant impact on their subject selection, specifically represented by a positive effect of home economic capital on student choice of subjects requiring higher learning costs, a positive effect of family perception of the importance of mathematics, physics, and chemistry on student choice of science subjects, and a positive effect of family cultural environment on student choice of liberal arts subjects; (iii) Personal factors such as gender and academic results are crucial for students’ decisions on subject selection, with male and high-performing students showing preferences for science subjects
Can Holistic Module Teaching Improve English Per-formance of Junior Secondary School Students? An Experimental Exploration Based on the Reform of English Instruction in X City in Eastern China
The Compulsory Education Course Standards for English 2022 emphasize that teachers must construct module teaching around specific objectives to support the development of academic competence in students. Holistic module teaching is an instructional approach which uses a major concept in a subject to organize relevant course materials to deliver structured instruction. In recent years, there has been a widespread application of module teaching design in English classes in China. Nevertheless, little research has been carried out on the relations between holistic module teaching and student English competence. This study used the empirical data generated by the teaching reform and the method of difference-in-differences estimation to conduct a systematic evaluation of the efficacy of holistic module teaching in English instruction with the purpose of providing evidence for the further improvement of this teaching design

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is an age-related neurodegenerative disease, and its main pathological feature is the specific reduction of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra of the midbrain and α-synuclein aggregates. However, the specific molecular mechanism of the degeneration of dopamine neurons in the substantia nigra is still not fully understood. Neuroinflammation is involved in the development of PD, and microglia-mediated neuroinflammation plays an important role in the degeneration of dopamine neurons. This article will review the mechanism of microglia-mediated neuroinflammation in the pathological process of PD, and provide new understanding for the molecular mechanism and treatment of PD
