General Anesthesia, Cognition, and Neurological Comorbidities
General anesthesia is a frequently employed medical intervention that facilitates the induction of a temporary state of unconsciousness, hence facilitating the execution of surgical procedures in patients. Nevertheless, the cognitive capabilities of patients with neurological comorbidities, such as epilepsy or dementia, may be a subject of worry when contemplating the impact of general anesthesia. Studies have indicated that individuals who have pre-existing neurological diseases may encounter negative consequences on their brain function when exposed to anesthesia. These consequences can manifest as a reduction in cognitive abilities or a worsening of their current coexisting medical conditions. Hence, it is imperative for healthcare practitioners to thoroughly assess the potential advantages and disadvantages of general anesthesia in individuals with neurological comorbidities. This evaluation should encompass exploring alternative methodologies or tailoring anesthetic management strategies to mitigate potential complications and enhance patients’ overall results
Investigation of the Relationship between Middle School Students’ Motivation and Attitudes toward Social Studies
The two most important affective skills that influence students’ success in a course are motivation and attitude. The desire to achieve a specific goal is related to motivation, while the experiences gained in the pursuit of that goal shape one’s attitude. The high motivation of students for a course is also an indicator of their positive attitudes toward that course. This study aims to determine the predictive power of 6th-grade middle school students’ attitudes toward the social studies course on their motivation to engage in this course. A correlational survey model was employed for this quantitative research. The participants in the study comprise 306 6th-grade middle school students enrolled in schools affiliated with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education during the 2022-2023 academic year. The “Social Studies Attitude Scale” and “Social Studies Motivation Scale” were used as data collection tools. The results of the multiple regression analysis revealed that the correlation between motivation and attitude varies depending on their dimensions. Moreover, it was observed that the predictive power of attitude on motivation differed across dimensions

Metabolic therapy has emerged as a possible treatment technique, alongside adoptive cell transfer. This therapeutic method seeks to interrupt the growth and survival of cancer cells by specifically targeting their abnormal metabolism. Moreover, artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming cancer care by assisting in the identification of diseases, forecasting the likely course of illness, and devising treatment strategies. Artificial intelligence algorithms employ extensive data analysis to identify patterns and anomalies that may not be readily apparent to human specialists in isolation. Oncologists can enhance patient outcomes and reduce unwanted effects by integrating adoptive cell transfer, metabolic therapy, and AI technologies to provide personalized treatments

The Effect of Child Preschool Education on Labor Force Participation of Married Women of Childbearing Age
In the context of the decline in working-age population and exhaustion of demographic dividend in China, how to increase the supply of labor has become an issue critical to economic development. Optimizing preschool education system and enhancing the accessibility of high-quality and low-cost pre-primary schooling help free married women from childcare, boost their labor force participation, and thus, augment the supply of labor. This study discovers that the labor force participation rate of women who enroll all their preschool-age children in kindergartens is 1.32 times that of those who do not do so; and that for working women, preschool attendance of all their kids can increase their working time by four hours per week. After classifying the sample according to the level of household income and type of Hukou (registered permanent residence), it finds that child preschool attendance can more significantly raise the employment probability of women from high-income families and more prominently increase working hours of those with rural Hukou
A Comprehensive Review on the Role of Obesity in Functional Cognition (Part II): Cognition Impairment and Underlying Mechanisms, and Development of Neurodegenerative Diseases
Epidemiological and neuroimaging studies have accumulated evidence of a significant rela-tionship between obesity and cognitive impairment. The mechanisms underlying the connec-tion between these two ostensibly unrelated domains are complex and multifactorial. First, obesity is frequently accompanied by comorbidities, such as Type 2 Diabetes and hypertension, which can contribute to cerebrovascular alterations and neuronal dysfunction, resulting in cognitive deficits. Second, chronic low-grade inflammation activates proinflammatory cyto-kines that may impair cognitive processes by affecting neuronal plasticity and synaptic func-tion. In addition, obesity-related hormonal imbalances, such as insulin resistance and dysregulation of adipokines, may disrupt neuroendocrine pathways that are essential for cog-nitive health. The gut-brain axis, which influences inflammation, metabolicsignaling, and the synthesis of neuroactive compounds, has also been linked to cognitive decline in obese indi-viduals with altered gut microbiota composition. Changes in the structure of the brain, such as a reduction in hippocampal volume and a disruption in the integrity of the white matter, have also been observed in obese individuals, further implicating the negative effects of obesity on cognition. In addition, lifestyle factors such as sedentary behavior and unfavorable dietary patterns associated with obesity can contribute independently to cognitive dysfunction
Effects of Online Learning on Student Moral Development: A Meta-analysis Based on 42 Experimental and Quasi-experimental Studies
The widespread practices of online learning have sparked increasing interest in its educational efficacy. The effects of online learning on learners’ moral development remain contentious in existing research. The purpose of this meta-analysis was to ascertain how online leaning impact students’ moral development. It included 42 experimental and quasi-experimental studies with an aggregate sample of 5303 learners after the processes of literature screening, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment. Analytical results revealed that online learning had positive effects on student moral understanding and reasoning, but no significant impact on student moral emotions and behavior. Subgroup analyses by student type, course type, online learning pattern, and involvement of interactive activity showed that there were disparities in the effect size between all subgroups and that only the moderating effect of student type on student moral reasoning was statistically significant

Neural Mechanisms of the Reward System and the Cognitive Control System in Internet Addicts
As a behavioral addiction, Internet addiction has become a global problem that seriously affects people’s mental health. According to the neurobiological model of brain development, revealing the neural mechanisms of reward and the cognitive control system of Internet addicts is the key to solving internet addiction. The key to the problem of addiction is also a major issue in psychological research. Behavioral research has explored the characteristics of high reward seeking and low cognitive control in Internet addiction; research on neural mechanisms has revealed that the deficits in reward and cognitive control systems are the root of this behavior. Comparative studies with drug addiction have found that Internet addiction has a unique reward mechanism. These studies have deepened the understanding of the psychological and neural mechanisms of Internet addiction, but there are still differences in the screening and inclusion criteria for Internet addiction. There are some problems that need to be solved urgently, such as science, general classification, lack of causal research, controversial intervention and treatment effects, and loopholes in research paradigms
