Do We Have Strategies to Prevent Emerging Fatal Pathogens?
To prevent the transmission of fatal pathogenic microorganisms, a comprehensive strategy is needed that includes public health interventions and research projects. An effective approach is to improve surveillance systems in order to rapidly identify and address epidemics, enabling swift isolation and treatment of sick persons. In addition, practices such as regular handwashing and adherence to established food safety regulations can aid in minimizing the transfer of harmful microorganisms. Research endeavors should prioritize the development of novel vaccines and antimicrobial therapies to counteract the emergence of new infections. Moreover, the implementation of stringent infection control measures in healthcare settings can effectively prevent nosocomial infections and restrict the transmission of these lethal microorganisms. Through the integration of proactive public health actions and state-of-the-art research developments, we can successfully avert the spread of fatal pathogens and safeguard global health security
Enhancing Educational Outcomes by Boosting Artificial Intelligence Application in Personalized Learning
As the social expectation of the standards of talent training increases, the society has become more aware of the limitations of the traditional one-size-fits-all education paradigm and has endeavored to develop educational paths that can better cater for individually different needs of the learner. Personalized learning, as an important instructional strategy in the new era, is intended to make education more pertinent to the unique needs, learning style, and ability of each individual student for the purpose of optimizing their educational outcomes (Kaswan et al., 2024). The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) makes changes to conventional education patterns and improvements in personalized learning possible as this technology can be harnessed to provide tailored learning materials to students, improve their information acquisition and retention, and thereby enhance their learning efficiency and educational experience (Chen et al., 2020)

The (Alkan et al., 2019) used in the Methods section needs to be deleted. The Alkan et al. study is a mixed method [(Mixed methods design: a narrative literature review. Journal of Qualitative Research in Education, 7(2):559-582)]. However, the term used in our study is mixed-meta method. In addition, the term belongs to a different author and it has a completely different definition. (On the pages 3900 and 3914).
Instead of “(Büyüköztürk et al., 2018 p.259-260)” (Batdı, 2020, p.3) should be added under the title “Meta-analysis procedure”. (On the page 3903)

When equity is prioritized, resources are allocated to ensuring fair treatment and opportunities for all individuals, which may require additional investments in recruitment efforts, training programs, and systems to monitor and address inequities. Furthermore, achieving equity often involves addressing historical injustices or disparities that may require significant financial commitments to rectify. Additionally, maintaining equity requires ongoing efforts to prevent any regression into unequal treatment or practices, necessitating continuous monitoring and interventions which can incur costs as well. While investing in equity may initially result in increased expenses beyond initial expectations, studies show that organizations that prioritize equity tend to see improved employee morale, productivity, and retention rates in the long run – ultimately leading to overall cost savings through enhanced performance and reduced turnover
The Relationship between Mathematics Anxiety and Mathematics Performance in Chinese Basic Education Students: A Meta-Analysis Based on 68 Papers in Chinese
Mathematics anxiety includes a variety of negative emotions, such as fear, tense, and worry, induced by the student’s math learning experiences. According to existing literature, there is a stable negative correlation between student mathematics anxiety and mathematics performance, and the incidence of anxiety experience is the highest among all negative emotions in student math learning. Existing meta-analytical studies mainly draw on samples from Western countries with most research results inapplicable to the Chinese context. This study is an analysis based on 22 journal articles and 46 theses in Chinese using the meta-analytic technique. It aims to examine the correlation between mathematics anxiety and mathematics performance in Chinese basic education students as well as the potential moderating factors

Sleep, one of the most fundamental physiological activities of human beings, is crucial for physical and mental health of the individual. Adequate sleep is even more important for adolescents, who are in a critical stage of physical and intellectual growth, than adults. According to existing research, sleep deprivation is pervasive among Chinese teenagers and shows a tendency of further exacerbation. This study is an empirical analysis of the effects of sleep duration on the non-cognitive ability in teenagers with a large sample of 153,901 primary and secondary school students, using the ego depletion model, multiple linear regression, and propensity score matching
The Impact of the Double Reduction Policy on Family Fertility Intention: A Study Based on a Survey of 29 Provinces across China
A nation's population is the bedrock of its socio-economic development. In the 1990s, China began to enter the period of low fertility, and its total fertility rate has remained below the replacement level since. Family fertility intention, a major predictive indicator of family reproduction behavior, constitutes an important parameter for projecting fertility levels, relating to the long-term development of the population. Facing the long-standing issue of low fertility, most studies have focused on the impact of fertility policy on the size of the population with little research on the influence of education policy. This study aims to explore the relationship between parents’ attitudes towards the Double Reduction policy and their intention of having more than one child, as well as the mediating effects of family education expenditure and parental educational anxiety on this relationship, using 10341 parents of primary and secondary school students from 29 provincial administrative regions as research subjects
Development of a Two-Tier Diagnostic Test to Assess Misconceptions about Biology Concepts at Primary School
Developing tools to identify students’ misconceptions about basic biology concepts is necessary. Therefore, a two-tier diagnostic test was developed to determine such misconceptions in primary school (3rd-4th Grade) students. The test content includes two-tiered multiple-choice questions addressing common misconceptions found in the literature on biology subjects in science education at the primary school level. The test’s validation and reliability pieces of evidence are described through quantitative and qualitative data analysis of data obtained via the survey method. Data was collected from two samples in two stages, including 74 and 363 primary school students, respectively. The first stage has collected qualitative data by two-tier true-false items based on these common misconceptions. This data was analyzed per qualitative content analysis. Based on these findings, two-tier multiple-choice items were developed, and a two-tier diagnostic test was formed. In the second stage, data obtained was used to quantitative analyze the construct validity, internal consistency, and item parameters of the test. The study’s results provided evidence of the validity and reliability of the primary school biology misconceptions diagnostic test (PBMDT), which consists of eight two-tier multiple-choice items
Perspectives of Undergraduate and Graduate Students on Utilizing ChatGPT: Analyzing Its Role in Question Preparation
Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly integrated into daily life across various sectors such as banking, healthcare, tourism, and education. This research aims to investigate science teacher candidates’ opinions on using ChatGPT in education and their approaches to preparing questions with this artificial intelligence tool. Specifically, it aims to elucidate the role of ChatGPT in question preparation processes and its potential applications in education. A case study methodology was employed, focusing on 17 fourth-year science teacher candidates and 6 graduate students in a science education master’s program during the fall semester of 2023-2024. Data were collected using an interview form and images of participants’ conversations with ChatGPT. Content analysis of the data reveals that most participants intend to use ChatGPT in their teaching process for research and question creation. Participants provided specific details in their prompts to ChatGPT, including grade level, unit, subject area, learning outcomes, question type, number, and difficulty level. This study highlights the potential of ChatGPT to enhance educational practices and support teachers in personalizing learning experiences
Application of Yin-Yang Dialectical Psychotherapy: A Case Study of Psychological Counseling for a Rebellious Adolescent
Yin-Yang Dialectical Psychotherapy (YYDP) was developed by Profession Zheng, a Chinese psychologist. It conflates the traditional Chinese Yin-Yang theory with humanistic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and the philosophy of structuralism from Western cultures. YYDP is effective in addressing a wide range of psychological issues. This article is a case study of the use of YYDP in psychological counseling for an adolescent who was experiencing teenage rebellion with a risk of dropping out of school. YYDP successfully helped the client, and her parents develop more positive and balanced attitudes towards interpersonal relationships and supported the client in restoring normal school life
