The humanitarian crisis in Palestine, due to war crimes committed by the Israeli army, has triggered reactions from the international community through structured movements based on solidarity to voice global humanitarian aspirations. ADARA Relief International is one of the non-state actor movements that plays an active role in the resilience of victims in Gaza, especially women and children. This research employs a qualitative approach from a social constructivist perspective, utilizing a descriptive content analysis research method based on case studies. The results show that the global community mostly trusts the role of non-state actors over state actors in addressing humanitarian conflict issues, as they are perceived as more neutral and fairer. ADARA Relief International is a transnational movement that actively advocates and conducts humanitarian campaigns following the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people to raise global humanitarian awareness. Furthermore, it actively contributes to the resilience of women and children affected by Israeli war crimes through various social and humanitarian activities, including the distribution of humanitarian aid, childcare programs, and the empowerment of female victims. ADARA Relief International demonstrates the role of non-state organizations in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Palestine, grounded in the values of global humanitarian solidarity

    No full text
This study examines the strategic role of local communities in enhancing collective economic welfare, with a case study of Sungsang IV Tourism Village, Banyuasin II Regency, Indonesia. The village has strong potential in fishery-based tourism and mangrove ecosystems, yet it faces challenges such as limited facilities, weak resource management, and dependence on external interventions. Using a mixed-method approach with a sequential explanatory design, the research was conducted in two stages: a quantitative survey of 80 respondents to test the influence of institutional capacity, social capital, and resource management on collective welfare, followed by in-depth interviews and focus group discussions with key informants to enrich the quantitative findings. Regression analysis revealed that the three variables simultaneously influence collective welfare significantly (Sig. F = 0.000 < 0.05), with social capital emerging as the most dominant factor (β = 0.650; Sig. = 0.000). Qualitative findings further highlight that trust, cooperation, and active community participation serve as the foundation for community-based economic development, aligning with the principles of the asset-based community development (ABCD) approach. These results emphasize that strengthening social capital is more crucial than merely improving institutional or physical resources. The study concludes that sustainable tourism village development should prioritize community empowerment through social network strengthening, local leadership, and optimal utilization of local assets

Phenomenology of Art and Identity: Gen Z Ambonese Migrants in Papua

    No full text
The negotiation of identity among diaspora youth has received increasing scholarly attention; however, the intersection between artistic practices and identity construction within this group remains underexplored. This study addresses this gap by examining the ways in which Generation Z Ambonese migrants in Papua utilize artistic expression as a means of negotiating cultural identity. A phenomenological research design was employed to investigate the lived experiences of four young Ambonese artists engaged in music, dance, visual arts, and digital creativity. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation of artworks, and subsequently analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA). The analysis indicates that artistic practices function as mediating mechanisms that connect Ambonese cultural heritage with the socio-cultural environment of Papua. Music emerged as a universal medium facilitating interethnic dialogue, while digital art was identified as a prominent channel for creativity and cultural dissemination among Generation Z. Furthermore, artistic expression operated as a counter-narrative that contested and redefined negative stereotypes of migrant communities. The study contributes to migration and cultural communication scholarship by demonstrating the theoretical significance of art as a site for cultural negotiation, hybrid identity formation, and social inclusion. In practical terms, the findings suggest that the promotion of youth artistic initiatives may strengthen intercultural dialogue and enhance community cohesion in plural societies

Between the Sea and the City: Social Transition Dynamics of Generation Z in Tambakrejo Village, Malang Regency

    No full text
Tambakrejo village on the south coast of Malang Regency holds a social irony that reflects the transition dynamics of the younger generation in the context of village development. On the one hand, the fishing profession is still economically promising, but on the other hand, this profession has experienced symbolic degradation in the eyes of some parents and Generation Z. This research explores how young people shape their identities, aspirations, and spatial mobility decisions in the shadow of this duality. Using a qualitative approach through observation and in-depth interviews, the study found that Generation Z falls into three broad categories: those who continue their education and are oriented out of the village, those who remain due to economic limitations, and those who are in identity ambiguity. The results show that social transition in coastal villages is not only economic, but also symbolic and spatial. This study recommends the need for policies that integrate contextual vocational education and local economic opportunities based on coastal wisdom to bridge the generational identity gap
