    Animating Imagination: How Powtoon Videos Boosts Creativity in High School Poetry Projects?

    Writing poetry is a form of self-expression that requires a high level of creativity, particularly among high school students who are in the process of developing abstract and critical thinking abilities. This study aimed to explore the impact of project-based learning (PjBL) model, supported by Powtoon animation video media, on students’ creativity in writing poetry. The research employed a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects consisted of 30 students from class X at a vocational school in Bandung, selected using purposive sampling, with limited creativity in poetry writing as a characteristic. The research instrument used was a creativity assessment rubric, which included aspects of originality, self-expression, use of poetic techniques, structure, plot, as well as thematic relevance. Data were analyzed using paired sample t-tests and n-gain to measure creativity improvement. The results indicate that the use of Powtoon in PjBL can enhance students’ poetry writing creativity, particularly in the aspects of originality and poetic technique. The implications of this study highlight the importance of using innovative media to improve poetry writing skills and students’ creativity, as well as supporting the implementation of project-based learning methods that can accommodate the creative needs in language education

    Optimizing Writing Skills Through E-module Based on FIVES Model in Blended Learning Approach

    This study aims to optimize students’ writing skills through e-modules based on the FIVES (Facts, Inference, Vocabulary, Experiences, Summary) model in a blended learning approach. The method used in this study is a pre-experiment with a pretest and post-test design. The research sample was 27 students of the Elementary Education Masters Study Program at IKIP Siliwangi. The sampling technique used a purposive sampling technique with the category of students taking the Integration of Learning Theory and Practice course. Data collection techniques were carried out through writing skills tests before and after the intervention and through questionnaires to measure students’ responses to the e-module and the blended learning approach. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive and inferential statistics to determine the differences in writing skills between before and after the intervention. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more effective and innovative writing learning in the digital era in learning in higher education. This study can also show that the use of e-modules based on the FIVES model with a blended learning approach significantly improves students’ writing skills. This implication is important for curriculum development in study programs that focus on writing skills

    Have Primary School Teachers Built Students’ Creativity? Theoritical and Empirical Approaches

    Teachers’ perceptions of creativity and their behavior are key points in developing student creativity. This study aims to identify teachers’ perceptions of teacher creativity and behavior in building creativity, and the correlation between the two. The method used is descriptive quantitative and correlational with online survey techniques. The participants were elementary school teachers in Indonesia who volunteered to fill out a questionnaire. consisting of two parts: the Teacher Implicit Creativity Beliefs Scale (TICBS) and the Creativity Fostering Teacher Index (CFTI). The first questionnaire was used to identify teachers’ perceptions of creativity with a Likert scale of 1-5, while the second instrument was used to identify teacher behavior in building creativity with a semantic differential scale of 1-6. Data were processed using descriptive quantitative analysis by calculating the mean and percentage of each item. The results of the study will provide an overview of teachers’ perceptions of creativity and teacher behavior index in building creativity

    Analysis of the Effectiveness of Implementing Marketing Mix Strategy in MSMEs

    Small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) are businesses owned by individuals or entities that meet certain criteria. They play a vital role in Indonesia’s economic growth. In Batu City, the abundance of apple orchards has led many residents to start applebased businesses, creating a thriving MSME sector with a variety of apple products. One such MSME, Brosem Apple Cider, faces challenges common to small businesses, including fluctuating demand and competition from similar businesses. To succeed in this environment, Brosem needs to carefully consider its marketing strategies to meet customer needs and gain a competitive edge. This research explores how effectively Brosem Apple Cider is using marketing mix strategies, using a SWOT analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The findings suggest that Brosem’s current marketing mix is not as effective as it could be, based on data related to sales, production, distribution, and their ability to invest in new equipment. The SWOT analysis further confirms weaknesses in their current marketing mix implementation. Therefore, Brosem Apple Cider needs to improve its mixed marketing strategies to achieve greater success

    Diabetic pregnancy: A literature review of maternal and neonatal adverse outcomes

    Of all pregnant women in the United States an average of 1.5% reported to have type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus. Our review article will discuss and explore the relationship between pre-pregnancy diabetes and its adverse outcomes in mothers and neonates. Diabetes in pregnancy can cause a myriad of complications, many of which are related to microvascular changes, including diabetic nephropathy and retinopathy associated with preterm delivery, cesarean sections, and intrauterine growth restriction. Pregnant patients with diabetes also have an increased risk of pre-eclampsia, likely due to complications related to abnormal structure and function of the placenta. In addition, cardiovascular complications are more common and may present antepartum, intrapartum, or postpartum. Adverse neonatal outcomes that have been observed in diabetic pregnancies include fetal stillbirth and perinatal death, macrosomia, congenital malformations, respiratory distress, and neurological impairments. These complications explain the increased morbidity and mortality rate of infants of diabetic mothers, and the increased frequency of neonatal intensive care unit hospitalizations after birth. Diabetes in pregnancy causes a spectrum of changes in the maternal-fetal interface. This review addresses the placental changes during pregnancy and its adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes. We strongly believe the material discussed in this article can help in understanding the effects of diabetes during pregnancy which will ultimately aid in designing interventions to prevent these adverse outcomes

    Phacoemulsification and Visco-synechiolysis With or Without Trabeculectomy Following Initial Management of Acute Primary Angle Closure: A Comparative Study

    Purpose: To assess the effects of phacoemulsification, visco-synechiolysis, and trabeculectomy on eyes with a recent history of acute primary angle closure (APAC). Methods: In this prospective nonrandomized study, we enrolled patients with cataracts, peripheral anterior synechiae (PAS), and a history of APAC attack managed with medications and laser peripheral iridotomy (LPI) within the past six weeks. Patients without signs of glaucomatous optic neuropathy (GON) underwent phacoemulsification and visco-synechiolysis (PV group). Trabeculectomy was added to this procedure for cases with signs of underlying chronic GON (PVT group). We evaluated best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), intraocular pressure (IOP), angle opening, PAS extension, and adverse events at baseline and six months postoperatively. Results: The PV and PVT groups comprised 8 and 12 eyes, respectively. At month six, both groups showed significant improvement in BCVA, reduced IOP, and increased Shaffer grading scores compared to baseline (all Ps < 0.05). Extensive PAS (≥180º) significantly decreased at month six in both the PV (P = 0.008) and PVT (P = 0.002) groups compared to baseline. However, its prevalence did not significantly differ between the two groups at baseline (P = 0.288) or six months after surgery (P = 0.881). At month six, IOP was significantly lower in the PVT group than the PV group (10.83 ± 1.40 vs 13.63 ± 2.07 mmHg, P = 0.002). Nevertheless, BCVA and Shaffer grading scores were not different between the two groups at this time point (P = 0.120, and P = 0.891, respectively). No serious complications were observed in any groups during the follow-ups.     A Study on Melatonin Administration and its Influence on Required Dose of Propofol for Anesthesia Induction in Perioperative Patients

    Melatonin, a hormone synthesized by the pineal gland has been demonstrated to promote anesthetic effect when co-administered with propofol. This led to examining the possible role of melatonin in the field of anesthesia, prompting further investigation of its use as an anesthetic adjuvant. In this study, we evaluated the minimal dose of propofol required for anesthetic induction following pre-medication with melatonin in perioperative patients. A clinical study was conducted on 60 patients, aged between 18 and 60 years who were enrolled for various surgical requirements at a tertiary care hospital, in South India. Enrolled patients were divided into two groups and designated as control (without melatonin) and treatment (with melatonin). A 3 mg/Kg melatonin tablet was administered to the melatonin group followed by a pre-determined dose of propofol intravenously, whereas the control group received B-complex followed by propofol. The results indicate administration of melatonin 3 mg as a premedication before the surgery significantly reduced the required dose of the anesthetic drug propofol when compared to the control group. Therefore, supplementation of 3 mg oral melatonin proved to be an effective premedication, offering potential benefits in both sedation and as an adjunct to the commonly used anesthetic induction agent propofol. This study provided initial evidence suggesting that pre-medication with melatonin may influence the dose of propofol required for induction. The observed reduction in propofol dose in the melatonin group has potential implications for optimizing anesthesia induction, potentially contributing to improved patient safety and resource utilization

    Successful Primary Coronary Intervention and Invasive Blood Pressure Monitoring During Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System (LUCAS) Mechanical Chest Compression: Case Report

    Introduction: Acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction demands urgent intervention to restore coronary blood flow, with primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) as the preferred treatment. However, sudden cardiac arrest remains a significant complication, occurring in approximately 1.3% of PCI patients. In such critical situations, delivering high-quality and uninterrupted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a priority. CPR in acute myocardial infarction presents challenges and opportunities when combined with primary PCI. The key to favorable outcomes is immediate resuscitation efforts and timely revascularization of the occluded artery. However, conflict arises between these actions. Case Report: We report a case of a 54-year-old male patient who suffered an acute myocardial infarction and underwent successful primary PCI with invasive blood pressure monitoring while being in cardiac arrest, as well continuous CPR with the use of the Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System (LUCAS), an automated chest compression device. We documented an invasive blood pressure measurement up to 161/69 mmHg during CPR. Discussion: Manual CPR in catheterization laboratories is challenging due to space limitations and radiation, especially in cases of refractory prolonged cardiac arrest. Mechanical chest compressors are a potential alternative but their efficacy and practicality are still being explored. Simply because arterial cannulation limits blood pressure measurement, there is little thorough evidence on hemodynamic outcomes with mechanical chest compressions. Conclusion: The evolution of mechanical CPR in catheterization laboratories necessitates ongoing research and clinical guidelines to optimize its application and ensure optimal patient care

    The Effect of Phosphogypsum on Reducing CO2, CH4, and NH3 Emissions During Composting of Cattle Feedlot Manure: Comparing Aerobic and Anaerobic Composting

    Phosphogypsum (PG) amendments have been explored as a strategy to enhance composting efficiency while mitigating greenhouse gas emissions and nitrogen losses. This study investigated the effects of PG at different concentrations (3%, 8%, and 15%) on cattle manure composting under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions over a 14-day period. The results indicate that PG significantly influenced gas emissions, nitrogen transformation, and compost maturity. Under aerobic conditions, CO₂ emissions increased rapidly during the initial phase, reflecting active microbial respiration, whereas anaerobic composting exhibited lower CO₂ emissions, indicating slower decomposition. Methane (CH4) emissions were significantly reduced with PG, with complete suppression at 8% and 15% PG under anaerobic conditions, likely due to competition between sulfate-reducing bacteria and methanogens. Ammonia (NH₃) emissions also decreased with increasing PG levels in both systems, suggesting improved nitrogen retention through ammonium adsorption and pH regulation. However, compost maturity was delayed in PG-treated samples, as indicated by lower NO₃⁻-N accumulation and prolonged ammonium presence. These findings suggest that PG amendments can effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance nitrogen retention, making them a viable strategy for sustainable manure management. However, longer composting durations or optimized aeration strategies may be necessary to achieve full stabilization. Future research should explore the longterm impacts of PG-enriched compost on soil health and plant growth to maximize its agronomic potential
