Citizenship Education Learning for Students Based on Citizen Project
Citizenship education in higher education plays a central role in developing students’ critical thinking skills and shaping them into informed citizens. To improve the quality of citizenship learning, the citizen project can be used as a learning model that fosters student skill development. This research aims to improve the quality of citizenship learning in higher education by implementing citizen projects in citizenship courses. The research uses a mixed-methods approach, following a dominant-less dominant design, where data were obtained through quantitative surveys, and qualitative interview offered further insight. Findings indicate that the citizen project had a positive impact on students’ knowledge, attitudes, and critical thinking skills
Child-Friendly School Management in Improving Positive Discipline in Tuntang Islamic Kindergarten, Tuntang District
This study analyzes the implementation of child-friendly school management in improving positive discipline in Tuntang Islamic Kindergarten, Tuntang District. Childfriendly schools are an educational concept that places children’s rights and interests as the main priority, creating a safe, comfortable environment, and supporting children’s holistic development. In this context, positive discipline is an approach used to shape children’s behavior through strengthening good attitudes, open communication, and experience-based learning, without using physical or verbal punishment. School management plays an important role in implementing positive discipline through teacher training, providing a safe environment, and parental involvement in the educational process. The results of implementing positive discipline in Tuntang Islamic Kindergarten show an increase in students’ disciplined behavior, sense of responsibility, and ability to work together, which supports the development of children’s character as a whole. This study confirms that child-friendly school management with positive discipline is effective in creating an educational atmosphere that is conducive to the growth and development of early childhood
Global Governance in the Management of Komodo National Park as a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Komodo National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which holds significant ecological, cultural, and social value. This research examines the implementation of global governance in managing the park, focusing on coordination among international, national, and local actors. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods, including literature review and document analysis. The research highlights the complex coordination between the Indonesian government, international organizations such as the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and UNESCO, and local communities. The approaches of governance involve species conservation in the Komodo Islands, rehabilitation of vital habitats, and sustainable tourism development. Advanced technologies such as satellite and drone surveillance are used to monitor illegal activities and ecosystem health. The biggest challenge in managing Komodo National Park lies in balancing conservation efforts with tourism-based economic development. To address this, a zonation approach and putting in place programs to train the locals in ecotourism would be one way forward. This research evaluates how sustainable coordination, integrated approaches, and stakeholder collaboration contribute to preserving the park’s universal value
The Incest Phenomenon: A Study on the Polahi Local Tribe in Boliyohuto
Medical research generally discourages incest due to its potential to disrupt DNA formation and cause psychological trauma. However, incest remains a generational practice among the Polahi Tribe in Indonesia. This study aims to explore the realities of incest within the Polahi community, including its impact on family dynamics, physical health, and social harmony. Data was collected through field observations and in-depth interviews with members of the community. The results show that incest in the Polahi Tribe exhibits unique characteristics, particularly the absence of external tribal institutions influencing these relationships. Contrary to common medical expectations, children born from incestuous unions in this community generally appear physically healthy and capable of carrying out daily tasks. Biologically, no significant negative effects have been observed. Moreover, the family structures formed through incest are often described as harmonious, with strong emotional bonds and cultural cohesion. The physical and mental resilience of the Polahi people is supported by their isolated environment and deeply rooted traditional beliefs (adat). These factors contribute to the normalization and continuation of incest within the community. While this practice presents ethical and medical concerns, the cultural context offers valuable insights into human adaptability and resilience. The Polahi case may serve as a reference point for further scientific research and anthropological study
Analysis of Security on XYZ Institution's Web Server Using Penetration Testing Execution Standard
A website serves as an important promotional tool and an information system that facilitates the management of an institution’s activities. Therefore, website security must be properly maintained to prevent attacks from hackers who may steal data or damage the website. This research aims to evaluate and identify security vulnerabilities on the institution XYZ’s website using the Penetration Testing Execution Standard (PTES) method. PTES is a global standard used to systematically test the security of systems and networks, providing a comprehensive framework for security professionals to conduct penetration testing with the goal of identifying and addressing security gaps. The results of this research are expected to assist institution XYZ in improving its website security and providing a sense of safety and comfort for website users in terms of data security and user experience. Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography Changes in Diabetic Macular Ischemia after Systemic Normobaric Oxygen Therapy
Purpose: To evaluate vascular changes on optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) in patients with diabetic macular ischemia (DMI) after systemic normobaric oxygen (NBO) therapy. Methods: This before–after interventional study included 26 eyes of 26 patients with DMI. Macular OCTA was performed before and after 1 hour of 100% NBO therapy at a flow of 10 L/min delivered by face mask. As primary outcomes, changes in OCTA metrics were evaluated using the paired t-test. Subgroup analyses were performed based on gender. The secondary outcomes included identifying parameters correlated with best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and factors associated with improvement in OCTA parameters. Results: The patients included 15 males and 11 females aged 59.48 ± 9.67 years. Overall, no significant change was observed in retinal thickness; however, there was a significant decrease in retinal thickness among females and a significant increase among males (P < 0.001). The foveal avascular zone (FAZ) decreased significantly from 0.38 ± 0.14 to 0.34 ± 0.12 mm2 (P = 0.035). Superficial capillary plexus vessel density (SCP-VD) and deep capillary plexus vessel density (DCP-VD) at fovea increased from 13.5 ± 6.37 to 14.98 ± 6.33% (P = 0.059) and from 24.61 ± 6.75 to 26.59 ± 6.16% (P = 0.022), respectively. In males, BCVA correlated significantly with baseline DCP parameters but corresponded with none of the SCP parameters. In females, BCVA significantly correlated with pre-O2 DCP-VD of the perifoveal inferior quadrant. Finally, regression analysis did not show any parameter that could predict a favorable response. Conclusion: Using OCTA, we observed a decrease in FAZ and an increase in DCP-VD at fovea after short-term NBO therapy for patients with DMI

Treatment of posterior segment fibrosis is an unmet challenge in ophthalmology. Fibrotic responses complicate the pathology and treatment of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and other retinal diseases resulting in severe visual impairment. There is a lack of clear understanding of the exact mechanisms and different cell types taking part in retinal and preretinal fibrosis. This review discusses the current knowledge regarding various aspects of the intracellular signaling pathways impacting vitreoretinal fibrotic processes, focusing on the cellular and molecular mechanisms, summarizing the results of preclinical and clinical studies, and suggesting strategies for future investigations
Maternal and Newborn Health at the Climate Crossroads: Sustainable Innovations for Climate-resilient Obstetrics and Gynecology
Climate change represents one of the most significant public health challenges of the 21st century, with maternal and newborn populations experiencing disproportionate vulnerability to its impacts. This comprehensive review examines the multifaceted relationship between climate change and maternal-newborn health outcomes, analyzing both direct impacts, including heat stress, air pollution, and extreme weather events, and indirect effects such as food insecurity, vector-borne diseases, and psychological stress. The paper introduces the innovative concept of “green obstetrics” as a framework for integrating sustainable healthcare practices within maternal care delivery systems. Through analysis of global case studies and evidence-based interventions, we present actionable policy recommendations and clinical strategies for developing climate-resilient maternal health systems. Our findings demonstrate that targeted interventions combining medical innovation, sustainable practices, and community-based approaches can significantly reduce climate-related maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality while contributing to environmental sustainability goals
Analyzing the Impacts of Climate Change and Environmental Degradation in North Maluku
North Maluku Province, an archipelago in eastern Indonesia, faces serious challenges due to climate change and environmental degradation that threaten ecological and social sustainability. This research aims to analyze the impacts of climate change and human activities on coastal ecosystem systems, fisheries, and agriculture, as well as examine institutional responses and adaptive capacity of local communities. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies from government agencies and civil society organizations. The results showed that climate change triggers sea level rise, marine habitat destruction, and uncertainty in the growing season, while environmental degradation such as deforestation and nickel mining exacerbates ecological vulnerability. On the other hand, local government policy responses have not been fully integrated and community climate literacy remains low. While local initiatives such as mangrove conservation and adaptive agriculture exist, their effectiveness is limited without strong institutional support and cross-sector collaboration. This research recommends an ecosystem-based and social justice approach in the formulation of adaptation and mitigation policies
Implementation of Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) in the Industrial Area of the North Coast of Java in an Effort to Enforce Environmental Law
The North Coast of Java as an area has been quite dense as a transportation route since the Dutch colonial era. As a fairly dense area, it has led to many activities, ranging from settlements to the economic sector of the community to move there. Starting in the 1960s, many housing estates began to be developed by the community. Besides settlements, many factories began to be built given the potential for easily accessible transportation, and the potential market commodities was the reason for the industrial area to be established. Along with the development of the industrial area, the state had to enforce regulations to control the environmental balance due to development, and the development system must have an Environmental Impact Analysis (AMDAL) as the first capital. This writing uses a normative juridical method by analyzing applicable regulations whether they have been running according to the provisions or they are facing obstacles. The analysis is developed through other literature sources in the form of books, journals, and articles that are relevant to the theme of the writing. AMDAL is essentially a refinement of a development project planning process. The negative impacts that are often caused by development projects can be minimized with AMDAL. Efforts can be made to realize this by carrying out environmentally conscious development, considering the environment from the start of the development planning until the development operation. During the development in Indonesia, many weaknesses of AMDAL have been identified such as the lack of integrity of the development agreement, lack of community involvement in the development process, and implementation that is not in accordance with the planning
