The Influence of Job Satisfaction and Job Insecurity Towards Turnover Intention on Contract Employees
Turnover intention is a person’s desire or intention to quit their job. An apparent high level of employee turnover can result in various impacts both on the organization or company and on the employees concerned. Turnover intention is caused by various factors, such as job satisfaction and job insecurity. This research aims to determine the effect of job satisfaction and job insecurity on turnover intention among contract (outsourced) employees at PT. X. It used a quantitative method with a correlational approach. The subjects in this research were 72 employees (outsourcing) at PT. X using total sampling. This research utilized three scales, namely job satisfaction, job insecurity, and turnover intention, with a data analysis method of multiple linear regression. The data analysis revealed no influence between job satisfaction and turnover intention among contract (outsourced) employees at PT. X. Meanwhile, job insecurity had a significant influence on turnover intention among contract employees (outsourcing) at PT. Job satisfaction and job insecurity provide an effective contribution of 24.6% to turnover intention
Differences in Organizational Citizenship Behavior Based on Gender and the Big Five Personalities
To achieve excellence in an organization, maximum efforts are needed to improve individual performance, one of which is Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB). OCB is an action taken by individuals without formal demands or rewards from the organization, providing significant benefits to the organization. Gender and personality are factors that can differentiate OCB. Gender is the difference in roles, functions, status, and responsibilities of men and women, and personality is a unique and relatively long-lasting internal and external aspect of a person’s character that affects their behavior in various situations. This research focuses on the Big Five Personality theory, which divides personality into five dimensions: neuroticism, extraversion, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness. The subjects of this study were 100 male and female employees taken with a convenience sampling technique. The measuring instrument used to measure OCB is the OCB scale, adapted by Grasiaswaty (2016), and the measuring instrument used to measure Big Five personality is the Big Five Inventory, adapted by Ramdhani (2012). The results showed no differences in OCB based on gender (p = 0.617), and there were differences in OCB based on Big Five Personality (p = 0.013). The personality dimension that has the highest OCB is openness to experience
Self-Efficacy, Work Motivation, and Employee Performance
Employees with high work motivation and self-efficacy will be more enthusiastic so they can contribute positively to the work they are responsible for, influencing their performance results. This research aims to determine the influence of selfefficacy and work motivation on employee performance. This type of research is quantitative-correlational, using the accidental sampling technique and using SPSS version 25 for data analysis. The results of research on 150 employees still show that there is no simultaneous influence with a Sig value of 0.596 > 0.05 and partially the self-efficacy variable(X1) on employee performance (Y) with a Sig value 0.852 > 0.05 and work motivation (X2) on employee performance (Y) with a Sig value of 0.349 > 0.05. So, self-efficacy and work motivation do not affect employee performance
Impact of Inappropriate Empirical Antibiotics Therapy on Clinical Outcomes in Adult Patients with Sepsis and Septic Shock at Wad Medani Teaching Hospital, Sudan
Background: Inappropriate empirical antimicrobial therapy for sepsis or septic shock patients is independently linked to higher mortality rates. This study aims to evaluate the impact of inappropriate empirical antibiotic therapy on mortality and length of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) stay in adult patients with sepsis and septic shock.
Methods: A cross-sectional, retrospective study was conducted in the ICU of Wad Medani Teaching Hospital, Sudan, from January 1st, 2018 to May 31st, 2020.
Results: Out of the 101 patients analyzed, 95 (94.06%) received more than one antibiotic (2.772 ± 1), and 78 (77.2%) received inappropriate empirical antibiotics. In total, 17 antimicrobial drugs were used, of which metronidazole was used the most used in 70 patients (69.3%). Aspiration pneumonia was identified as the predominant source of infection in 33 (32.7%) patients. The ICU mortality rate was 77 patients (76.2%), which is significantly associated with inappropriate antibiotics used (P-value: 0.00), with a relative risk of 3.12 (CI 95% 1.66–5.84). Additionally, there was a significant difference in survival depending on the appropriate use of antimicrobials (P-value: 0.00) and Sequential Organ Failure Assessment (SOFA) score (P-value: 0.00).
Conclusion: Inappropriate empirical antibiotic use in sepsis or septic shock patients was associated with a higher risk of patient death and more extended hospital stays. This study revealed a significant percentage of inappropriate antibiotic use. These results highlight the significance of creating evidence-based empirical antibiotic protocols for treating sepsis and septic shock and educating healthcare staff on the urgent treatment of these patients and the application of sepsis bundles
Cumulus cells conditioned medium facilitates germ cell differentiation from human embryonic stem cells: An experimental study
Background: Studies have shown that embryonic stem cells can differentiate into germ cells either spontaneously or directed by the defined factors or by applying a co-culture method or conditioned medium of stromal cells.
Objective: Here, Yazd4 (human embryonic stem cells [hESC] line; 46, XX) was used to evaluate the effect of human cumulus cells conditioned medium (CCCM) on in vitro germ cell production and development.
Materials and Methods: In this experimental study 2 different complete media were applied, Dulbecco’s modified eagle’s medium + 20% fetal bovin serum and embryoid body (EB) medium (KnockOut serum replacement- hESC without basal fibroblast growth factor). Thus, there are 2 control groups for spontaneous differentiation (SD) (SD-EB and SD-DM) and 2 types of CCCM (CCCM-DM and CCCM-EB) as test groups. 40% dilution of the conditioned medium was applied according to previous reports.
Results: Reverse transcription-quantitative polymerase chain reaction and immunofluorescent staining assays revealed that between groups with similar complete medium, CCCM provides a better condition for in vitro germ cell differentiation from hESCs. Moreover, a comparison between the 2 types of complete media showed that EB medium is more supportive than Dulbecco’s modified eagle’s medium +20% fetal bovin serum.
Conclusion: CCCM with EB medium as a complete medium provides a better condition for in vitro germ cell differentiation from hESCs
The Effect of Applying E-Commerce-Based Information Technology on the Growth and Development of MSME Businesses in Indonesia
The development of technology and the internet has created new opportunities for companies to expand their market reach. One form of change in digital technology is the rise of e-commerce, a digital platform that enables businesses to operate efficiently while prioritizing innovation and creativity. Unlike traditional business, online shopping relies on electronic networks, making it more dynamic and accessible. Thus, e-commerce is a technology-based business platform created to help companies achieve their business goals. This encourages SMEs to adapt and go digital. SMEs that adopt e-commerce experience business growth and development, with higher average sales than MSMEs that do not use e-commerce in Indonesia. This study was conducted using a qualitative content analysis method through library research. The findings of this research indicate that MSME business owners must develop their understanding of electronic systems and digital applications to improve marketing and sales strategies of the products or services they offer

The Polemic of the Boycott Movement Against Products Affiliated With Israel in Indonesia
The boycott movement against products affiliated with Israel has sparked public polemics as a response to the violence experienced by Palestine and resulted in numerous casualties, particularly among Muslims. The Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has also voiced support for this movement. However, not all parties agree. Some endorse it as a form of solidarity with Palestine while others deem the boycott as ineffective and potentially harmful to Indonesia’s economy. This research aims to identify the factors causing the polemics as well as the implications of the boycott movement, including its impact on the community’s economy. The research method employed is a literature review, utilizing data gathered from relevant documents across various online media sources. The findings indicate a profound divergence of opinions regarding the boycott, with proponents viewing it as an expression of concern and a struggle against Israeli oppression whereas opponents express worries about long-term economic implications, including the possibility of layoffs. Furthermore, this study offers recommendations for addressing these polemics, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach to supporting Palestine without neglecting the economic aspects and welfare of the local community
