Validation of Software Quality Using Blackbox Testing A Cosmic E-Sport Web Application with Manual and Automation Testing Implementation
This research focuses on the verification and validation of the Cosmic E-Sport web application
designed for the operational management of Student Activity Units. The testing methods
employed include two primary approaches: manual Blackbox Testing and Automation
Testing utilizing Selenium IDE. The aim of this study is to evaluate the aspects of functionality,
reliability, and performance efficiency of the application. In the blackbox testing, we
thoroughly examine the user interface, authentication features, member management, and the
QR Code-based attendance system. Meanwhile, leveraging Selenium IDE allows us to
automate critical scenarios to measure execution time efficiency compared to the manual
method. The findings indicate that out of 30 manual test scenarios, 29 were declared passed
(PASS) with a success rate of 96.7%, and automated testing achieved a 100% success rate with
significant time efficiency. These findings are expected to offer deep insight into the readiness
of the Cosmic E-Sport application in meeting organizational needs, while presenting
recommendations for enhancements to improve overall software quality
Correlation between Gender Dysphoria and Body Dysmorphia
This study explores the intricate relationship between gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia among individuals aged 18 to 50, using a correlational research design. The research aims to determine whether a statistically significant correlation exists between these two psychological constructs, as well as whether there are observable differences between males and females in terms of gender dysphoria and body dysmorphia experiences. Data was collected from 150 participants through standardized self-report instruments including the Body Dysmorphic Disorder Scale and the UGDS-GS (Gender Dysphoria Scale). The findings of this research offer insights into the unique challenges faced by individuals dealing with these conditions, highlighting the need for integrated mental health services that are sensitive to gender identity issues. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge in clinical psychology and supports the development of gender-affirming interventions tailored to individual needs

Sense of agency and recognition memory: A replication of Hon and Yeo (2021)
Hon and Yeo (2021) demonstrated that word recognition (i.e., “hit” responses) is facilitated when words are presented within a moving box whose motion is triggered by a participant’s voluntary keypress. We will conduct a replication study to examine the reproducibility of the findings from their Experiment 2, which employed essentially the same methodology as Experiment 1 and yielded comparable results, but was implemented with improved experimental control. In their Experiment 2, a box moved upward or downward either in a direction corresponding to, or opposite from, the participant’s action (an upward or downward keypress), with either a minimal (100 ms) or longer (900 ms) temporal delay. After the box reached its destination, a word was presented inside the box. This “action” task was followed by a surprise recognition test for the words. Temporal and spatial congruency were manipulated to modulate the sense of agency over the visual feedback. Under conditions of spatial congruency and minimal delay, both the rated sense of agency and recognition performance (i.e., hit rate) were higher than in conditions with incongruent and/or delayed feedback, suggesting that an enhanced sense of agency may improve recognition memory.
Our previous study (Tsuji & Imaizumi, 2022) failed to show any improvement in recognition memory for word stimuli (i.e., feedback of voluntary action) as a result of action–feedback congruence, although the rated sense of agency was successfully manipulated. However, our experimental task and design were not sufficiently comparable to Experiment 2 of Hon and Yeo (2021). Therefore, the present study aims to conduct a more direct replication of their findings using more closely matched experimental procedures
Smartphone behavior as a digital biomarker of brain function
Understanding how the brain operates in the context of the real-world is one of the main goals of neuroscience and smartphones may offer a path toward this aim. As ubiquitous, sensor-rich mobile devices, smartphones continuously and passively capture diverse real-world human behavior, from smartphone-derived behaviors (e.g, smartphone usage duration and touchscreen dynamics) to broader smartphone-inferred behaviors (e.g. social activity, daily routine, circadian rhythm, etc). Smartphones combined with neural measures have begun to reveal some amazing glimpses of brain functions. Evidence from neuroimaging, electrophysiological and behavior indicates that smartphone use is linked to structural and functional brain alterations across multiple neural processes, and the fluctuations in touchscreen interactions alone even serve as a sensitive indicator of brain following epileptic seizures. Together, these findings highlight the potential of smartphone behavior as a biomarker of brain function, analogous to heart-rate variability as an index of mental health and eye movements as indicators of neural information processing. Realizing this potential could enable continuous monitoring of brain health and support clinical applications such as early diagnosis, and recovery assessment. However, significant challenges remain, including measuring and quantifying smartphone behaviors alongside neural activity and establishing interpretable links between them. Longitudinal recording by pairing portable mobile imaging with smartphone behavior may help establish robust neuro-behavioral links, while experimental interventions, such as smartphone deprivation or behavioral modulation, could clarify causality. Additionally, dimensionality reduction approaches may further identify key neural features underlying specific smartphone behaviors. Ultimately, overcoming these challenges could enable smartphones to evolve from passive observers of daily behavior to active indicators of brain function, advancing a more integrated and ecologically grounded neuroscience of everyday behavior
