A CEFR Aligned Curriculum Framework: Through the Lens of Akademi Pengajian Bahasa, Universiti Teknologi Mara
Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) was introduced in 2013 in Malaysia to promote international benchmarking in Malaysia, to be integrated into all levels of education including the tertiary level. This decision was made in tandem with the introduction of the Malaysian Education Blueprint (2013-2025) and English Language Education Reforms. The reason for this is to produce graduates who are competitive and communicatively competent, able to increase graduate employability in a global market. Hilda Taba’s model and CEFR were used as theoretical frameworks in designing the new curriculum. Hilda Taba’s model was adopted at the preliminary stage to redefine goals and objectives. The structure of the new curriculum design can be divided into seven phases that are aligned to the CEFR proficiency level, language activities, and domains. The qualitative data needed for the development of the framework was taken from the stakeholders and the analysis of related government and UiTM policies. The proposed CEFR conceptual framework for tertiary education integrates the relevant requirements from the MQF (Malaysian Qualification Framework), CEFR, and MOHE (The Ministry of Higher Education). This paper offers insights into an approach to design a CEFR-aligned curriculum framework for the tertiary level, specifically to be implemented in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia
Building Inclusive Communities: Examining Expert Perspectives on Support Systems for Families with Autistic Children in Malaysia
This qualitative research survey seeks to establish the views of the key stakeholders on community support structures for families of autistic children in Malaysia. Using semi-structured interviews of four specialists in autism, the study identifies the factors that enable and hinder access to community support, noting the importance of raising the level of acceptance and knowledge amongst ordinary citizens. Such analysis led the identification of themes like: Societal awareness unknowns, support systems’ deficits, and communalism calls. It fills the gap in theory by providing preliminary indicators to develop a theoretical Community Support Integration Framework (CSIF), underlining the organisation of the support systems with the principles of inclusive communities. This research affirms to recent occurrences asserting the exigent need to raise community awareness and acceptance for families with autistic persons

An Overview of Reinforcing Comprehension of Refugee-related Organizations in Indonesia
As part of the essential fabric of Indonesian society, nongovernmental and community-based organizations, particularly those dealing with refugee-related issues, play a crucial role in assisting forcibly displaced people impacted by catastrophes. These organizations have distinct roles and characteristics, some focusing on capacity building while others on advocacy. However, the lack of comprehensive research on these organizations hinders our acknowledgment of their challenges and potential. This article underscores the urgent need for exhaustive research in this area and aims to fill this gap by reviewing several works of literature on refugee studies. It provides a platform for academic researchers, policymakers, and humanitarian organizations to deepen their understanding and contribute to the discourse of refugee-related organizations in Indonesia. The data was meticulously collected from journal articles and other scholarly sources relevant to the article and was reevaluated to demonstrate refugee studies within the Indonesian context and refugee organization studies in other countries’ contexts. The study suggests that refugee-related organizations in Indonesia navigate the ambivalent government regulation of refugees and their predicaments as humanitarian organizations, leading to several operational impediments. The article, with its potential to significantly improve an apprehension of the operations and sustainability of nongovernmental organizations, particularly those dealing with refugee issues, underscores the importance of this research
