This study aimed to provide an overview of the implementation of teacher learning management in improving student academic achievement at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Buriko. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation using a qualitative descriptive method. The findings indicate that effective learning management at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Buriko involves three key stages: (1) Learning Planning: Lesson plans and other administrative tools are prepared, although often only to meet administrative requirements. (2) Implementation: Teachers generally follow their lesson plans, except in certain subjects where they rely solely on student textbooks. (3) Evaluation: This involves formative and summative assessments and evaluations of students' spiritual and social attitudes. Improved student learning outcomes are evidenced by fewer remedial cases attributed to teachers' innovative methods. However, challenges include insufficient infrastructure, additional teacher assignments, inadequate knowledge of planning and implementation, limited study duration, and student-related issues such as afternoon drowsiness, lack of enthusiasm, and discipline problems. This study aimed to provide an overview of the implementation of teacher learning management in improving student academic achievement at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Darussalam Buriko. Harmonizing Local Wisdom with Islamic Values: A Guide to Character Education Development

The globalization wave has caused Indonesians to gradually lose and forget the values of local wisdom as the nation's assets and charm. The global community recognizes Indonesia as a society characterized by positive traits such as friendliness, courtesy, industriousness, altruism, openness, courage, and others. Initial observations at the State Islamic Institute of Palopo indicate that lecturers perceive that most students have lost the original character of the Indonesian nation. Implementing character education aligned with local wisdom values can address this issue. The research employed in this study is developmental research with the four D (4 D) model. Data collection techniques used include direct observation, interviews, and questionnaires. We can overcome negative student character issues using local wisdom and religious values. Every higher education institution requires character education guidelines that lecturers can use as a reference to cultivate positive student character. Higher education institutions can conduct character education through lectures, academic guidance, and real-life community service activities

Furthermore, implementing the PLC fostered a more supportive school environment, making students feel more comfortable and engaged. The findings underscore the importance of enhancing and expanding PLC initiatives to improve students' academic and non-academic achievements. Practically, these results suggest that the PLC model can be a valuable tool for teacher development and improved student outcomes. Academically, this study contributes to the growing literature on collaborative learning environments and their role in enhancing educational quality

    Assessment Re-Think: Income-Generating and Industry-Based Assessments

Assessments are the fundamental media between students and educators. This paper aims to evaluate how to create assessments, how students learn from them, and how to link them to the industry and entrepreneurism. The implementation plan postulates how students can generate income from income-generation assessments or business innovation assessments. In this paper, we discuss the involvement of modern industry in assessment. We examine evidence from approximately 100 assessments detailed in 32 subject outlines. We employ a descriptive, pragmatic research methodology to consider whether they can be aligned more with industry expectations and expected duties. We propose a framework to connect with industry and create student income-generating projects. This proposed income-generating assessments framework recommended industry-based assessments with which students can not only earn marks towards a subject but potentially earn an income based on it. This paper extends the idea of peer learning to expert or industry learning: an approach that did not employ in higher education. Our approach supports educators in keeping the assessment up-to-date, enabling students to add more value to their learning of industry products and procedures. Students can directly contribute to the product and procedures and learn from the strategies actively employed in the workplace

This study concludes that students' eco-literacy profile is good, with skills encompassing cognitive, emotional, activity, and spirit aspects that mutually support understanding and responding to environmental issues effectively. This research is expected to serve as a reference for policymakers and schools in implementing eco-literacy in elementary schools

Trends and Challenges in Mixed Methods Educational Research: A Comprehensive Analysis of Empirical Studies

The mixed methods research approach combines quantitative and qualitative methodologies to comprehensively understand complex research questions, particularly valuable in educational studies. This study critically examines adopting and utilizing mixed methods in Chinese educational research by analyzing 105 empirical studies published in major Chinese academic databases from 2002 to 2023. Using a framework based on established mixed-methods criteria, researchers evaluated these studies across five dimensions: research objectives, rationale for mixed methods, methodology and sample size, design type, and journal category. The findings reveal that while mixed methods usage in Chinese educational research has grown significantly since 2018, especially with a preference for explanatory sequential and concurrent designs, many studies lack clarity in articulating the rationale behind their methodological choices. This lack of transparency limits the potential of mixed methods to address educational challenges in depth. Additionally, data collection methods remain limited, relying on questionnaires and interviews and less frequently using techniques such as observations and experiments. High-quality journals show a preference for rigorously conducted mixed-methods research, underscoring the importance of methodological rigor. This study advocates for improved alignment of research questions, clearer rationale, and diversified data collection to enhance methodological robustness in future mixed methods educational studies in China
