University Service Quality: The Impact of Student Satisfaction and Loyalty in Public Universities of Bangladesh
No full textThe present study explores the effect on student satisfaction and student loyalty of higher education service quality dimensions. Ensuring quality improvement and implementation of strategies for the tertiary education sector has become critical. Moreover, the study also tests the mediating impact of university reputation and external prestige between university service quality and satisfaction and loyalty. Data has collected through a structured questionnaire from a sample of 390 graduate and undergraduate students of two public universities in Bangladesh. The study reflects that the performance on service quality dimensions of selected public universities is not satisfactory. The study results have shown that Teaching, Support services, Library and lab facilities, and internationalization significantly influence student satisfaction except for Administrative service and Hostel facilities. Teaching, Administrative Services, Library and lab facilities, and internationalization significantly influence student Loyalty. The mediating analysis has shown that student satisfaction partially mediates between service quality and student loyalty. The study results have also indicated that university reputation and external prestige partially mediate between service quality and student satisfaction and loyalty. The previous studies which measure service quality of Bangladeshi higher educational institutions have applied the SERVQUAL model, which is not suitable for an educational institution. However, this study has applied a higher education service quality model uniquely developed to measure higher educational institutions' service quality

Get PDFThis paper aims to provide an understanding of how a teacher designs a learning model. Many writings discuss learning models, but they cannot be applied in a learning process. This paper is expected to provide experience for teachers in planning and developing learning through development models. Planning is essential because it is a managerial process in determining what to do and how to do it, and in it, the goals that will be achieved and work programs are developed to achieve goals. Therefore, learning planning is a decision-making process as a result of reasoning about specific learning goals and objectives, namely changes in behavior and a series of activities that must be carried out to achieve these goals by utilizing all existing potential and learning resources. Counteracting the Social Media: The Role of Islamic Education Teachers' at SMAN 4 Tana Toraja
Get PDFThis study aimed to analyze social media use in students and map Islamic education teachers' role in counteracting social media's negative impact on students at SMAN 4 Tana Toraja. This research uses a qualitative approach; The research subjects are the principal, Islamic Education teachers, students, and other teachers. The data collection technique involves observing, interviewing, documenting, and data analysis techniques with three stages: data reduction, data display, and data verification. The result findings on the research that social media use has their views, but most students use social media as a tool to get updated information, both related to education or outside education. Social media's impact also depends on the students; if the students use social media for good acts, it will positively impact, but it will impact negatively when the students use it in criminal activity. Islamic education teachers at SMA Negeri 4 Tana Toraja responsibility for providing understanding to the students about the impact of using social media. The responsibility of Islamic education teachers manifested in the character formation of students with noble character. Another finding is that the teachers must be able to divide their time to organize their roles properly. Some publications addressing approaches, techniques, and models of learning as a means of understanding the ideal education, but there are still deficiencies attributable to educators or adults who do not see the environment as a place of training. The paper aims to provide parents, teachers, and the community with knowledge so that education is a joint obligation so that cooperation in the education system is complete. "Tri Pusat Pendidikan" are three critical elements that play an essential role in learning and become the center of educational activities, namely family education (informal education), school training (formal education), and social education (non-formal culture). The "Tri Pusat Pendidikan" idea means that learning can be done anywhere and at any time, being a mutual obligation. The Correlation of Digital Literation and STEM Integration to Improve Indonesian Students’ Skills in 21st Century
Get PDFDynamic human development in the 21st Century demands students to make innovations in the world of education. Students are required to have 21st-century skills, namely creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. In contrast, teachers are required to have skills that must be mastered. The six capabilities are mastery of knowledge/content, mastery of 21st-century pedagogy, the ability of expertise in the development and achievement of students and give support, mastery of learning psychology skills; having counseling skills; and competence in using information technology and media. This article aims to discuss issues related to how to improve the ability of teachers and students to master 21st-century skills? Also, what extent is the role of digital literacy and STEM integration in improving 21st-century skills? This article using literature literacy methods sourced from international and national journals, books, and other relevant sources. Based on the study, it concluded that digital competence is not an absolute determinant of the development of 21st-century skills in students. Digital ability is a supporting factor for mastering 21st-century skills that should have been introduced and taught through schools. STEM learning with multidisciplinary mastery of science needs to be optimized in schools in Indonesia so that the expected learning objectives are in line with the demands of the 21st-century
The Challenge of Islamic Education and How to Change

Still, it requires reconstruction, reconciliation, and reorientation so that Islamic education can make a significant contribution to the achievement of the take-off stage. In this paper, the author tries to offer several solutive arguments as well as to become a plan for Islamic education. First, it needs a review of the Islamic education system that is currently running while still promoting the spirit of Islamic teachings. The vision is manifest in the form of an attempt to re-dialogue religious texts against every reality that occurs. Second, prepare more mature and quality human resources armed with comprehensive capabilities. Third, reaffirming the role of all elements in education, namely, individuals, families, communities, educational institutions, and the state. Fourth, to unite Islamic spirituality with science and technology as a strong basis for increasingly pressing challenges, Islamic intellectual tradition, is a hierarchy and interconnection between various scientific disciplines that enable the realization of unity (oneness) in diversity, not just in the realm of faith and religious experience, but also in the world of knowledge
