    The Impacts of Task-Based Activities on Learners’ Grammatical Acquisition and Motivation at Dong Nai Technology University

    The study aims to measure the effect of Task-based language teaching on grammatical achievement and the motivation of EFL learners at Dong Nai Technology University. The research will conduct a quick grammar test to administer 48 students at the school to achieve this goal. After sitting the test, the learners will undergo a 6-week course applying task-based language teaching. Before the treatment, one certified instructor-made grammar test about the learning units will be encompassed as the pre-test. Furthermore, a motivation questionnaire will be carried out in this group at the research's beginning and end. Afterward, the learners will learn through the treatment, which is learning through the implementation of Task-based language teaching. After six weeks of treatment, the group will take the same teacher-made grammar test as the post-test. After that, the writer will analyze the data through paired sample t-test. The results demonstrated a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test in the student’s performance on grammar acquisition and the enhancement in learners’ motivation. Based on the findings of this research, it is believed that task-based language teaching can be used in English classes to enhance learners’ grammar achievements and motivation among Vietnamese university learners

    Difficulties of Vietnamese Students in Learning Academic Writing

    Writing is consistently regarded as one of the most challenging language-learning abilities. This paper investigates the challenges Vietnamese students face in learning academic writing in English. Ninety-five students from grades 6 to 12 who have been studying English for several years were surveyed using a questionnaire. The questionnaire comprised 14 Likert-scale statements and one multiple-choice question to determine their interests, habits, and perspectives toward learning English. Most participants expressed a keen interest in learning languages but felt that their writing skills in English were not up to par, attributing this to inadequate time spent practicing. As a result, it is suggested that secondary school students in Vietnam increase their writing practice time in English and alter their learning routines and habits accordingly

    This article examined the repositioning of science and technology education for security and economic growth and development in Nigeria. The wreck on the nation's image by the incidences of insurgency has caused negative effects on the nation's security and economic development. Security issues are presently major challenges in Nigeria, especially in Northern Nigeria. Furthermore, the continuous rise in insecurity and deterioration in the economic development in Nigeria has called for concern among researchers and policymakers over the years. This article highlights the need for rebranding Nigerians through the internal process of repositioning the science and technology education system for national security and economic sustainability. Literature and other research papers using to gather information. The paper recommends that the nation adopt a proactive approach to improving the teaching and learning of science and technology education professionally and empowering youth while taking everlasting measures to curtail the issues of insurgencies in Nigeria. In other words, we need to reposition our youth's mental reasoning and economically empower them to certify the demands of the modern world. Repositioning Nigerian is one of the fruitful tools to achieve this objective, and rebranding directs the power and energy of Nigerians toward academic and productive goal

    The Effort of Parent-Child Reading Activity in Chinese Traditional Family Education: A Practical Study in a Primary School of Shenzhen

    China is a country with traditional family education. Parents greatly influence their children, especially under the one-child policy and urbanization background. Chinese teaching requires context and training. Reading and communication are important ways to improve Chinese. Parent-child reading can better help students in grades 1-3 to read. This article aims to compare students' performance and interview results of parents in an elementary school in the immigrant city, Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, China, to explore the supporting role of parents in this family education. Previously, similar language research work has examined the students' language development in Shenzhen Pontus' families for further research. This study used mixed methods to analyze the parent-child reading situation in a school in Shenzhen. This article also compared the students' Chinese performance to judge the impact of parent-child reading on students. The results show that the influence of parent-child reading in family education has an obvious positive effect. The specific auxiliary role is reflected in children's reading ability, Mandarin level, and literary knowledge. Therefore, this study suggests that teachers and parents promote parent-child reading work. Parent-child reading is not only conducive to the psychological growth of students but also conducive to the cultivation of students' language ability, especially for the cultivation of students' Mandarin and literary ability

    Online English Learning at Junior High School: How the Students Perceive Schoology as Learning Media

    This study focused on the Students' Perception of Schoology Application in Learning English at SMPN 1 Palopo. This study occupied a descriptive qualitative design that spent one-month collecting data using interviews. The data were then reduced, presented, and verified before describing the data in analyzing the interview results. This study revealed that the students reported their positive perception toward Schoology Application in Learning English at SMPN 1 Palopo. The students' positive judgments are based on their experience in learning English by using the Schoology application. They enjoyed the learning process when the teacher practiced Online Learning Method using Schoology. This study also reported that the Schoology application is very beneficial for them. The Schoology application made them more interested in learning. In addition, the application made them more active and responsible in learning

    The Effects of Collaborative Learning on Young ESL Learners’ L2 Anxiety and Speaking Performance

    Foreign Language Anxiety (FLA) is one of the issues of interest attracting researchers in recent decades. However, while collaborative learning introduced a prospective tool for FLA, it has not been much researched in the L2 classroom context, particularly in Vietnam. This paper focuses on using collaborative learning to reduce foreign language anxiety and enhance the L2 speaking performance of young learners at an English center in Ho Chi Minh City. A combination of tools, including Aydin et al.’s (2017) Children Foreign Language Anxiety Scale (CFLAS) for the pre-tests and post-tests, the teacher’s diary, and follow-up interviews, was used to measure the changes in learner’ FLA level and speaking performance. After five-week implementations, these learners’ FLA was slightly alleviated, and their speaking performance was improved using a collaborative learning approach. Moreover, learners were found to have positive attitudes and experience with learning in the new approach. These findings implied that collaborative learning could be a potential treatment to help L2 learners uncover their anxious selves and find more confidence in using the target languag

    This paper explores the top ten issues and ideas for the future of teaching and learning in the post-pandemic world. The study uses the researcher's informed reflection as a method. The informed reflector role allows the researcher to explore realities from multiple dimensions by scanning existing teaching and learning scholarship. The subjective accounting, the lack of external verification of the thinking, overshadows limitations. The researcher devises phenomenological bracketing to reduce the researcher to a reflector. The researcher acknowledges that there could be other critical issues and ideas than those in this study.     Development of Collaborative Digital Module on Zedemy Platform to Improve Student Engagement

    During the Covid 19 pandemic, lecture activities in the Guidance and Counseling study program were transferred to online media through the e-learning platform of the Integrated Lambung Mangkurat University Information System (SIMARI). This study aims to produce collaborative digital modules through the zedemy platform used in lectures in the Guidance and Counseling study program, determine the feasibility of collaborative digital modules and determine the level of student engagement in using collaborative digital modules. ASSURE model development research (Analyze Learner, State Objective, Select Methods, Media and Materials) choosing to conducted on students of the Guidance and Counseling Study Program at Lambung Mangkurat University to determine student engagement with the use of modules. Module validation is carried out by material experts, media experts, and students. The feasibility of collaborative digital modules through the zedemy platform was assessed using a media expert eligibility sheet, material expert, and student involvement questionnaire in using the module. The results indicate the feasibility of the collaborative digital module shows a very feasible category in terms of media with a 103 of a maximum score of 116. Feasibility on the material aspect shows a very feasible category with a score of 97 out of a maximum score of 108 (89.81%). Student engagement showed a significant increase as indicated by the t-test results, obtained sig = 0.000. The mean of pretest = 55,35 and at posttest = 73.97. There is an increase in student engagement when using collaborative digital modules through the zedemy platform

    Student’s Digital Law Knowledge About Hoax: Study at SMA Batik 2 Surakarta

    The development of this modern era requires every human being to be fluent in technology. There are so many positive sides to technology that humans can get. Nevertheless, there is also a negative side to the existence of technology. One of them is the growing number of crimes in cyberspace. Hoax is one of the crimes committed in cyberspace. This study describes the digital legal knowledge of students about Hoaxes. This study used a sample of 206 students at SMA Batik 2 Surakarta. This research uses qualitative research methods with purposive sampling techniques. Data were taken using interviews, observations, and questionnaires. The results showed that students were digital citizens, and their digital legal knowledge about hoaxes was still lacking. Citizenship Education is one of the subjects in schools that can teach legal provisions regarding hoaxes. Policy recommendations that can be given are as follows, (1) Teachers can use various interactive learning models where students can actively seek and understand the legal provisions regarding hoaxes. In addition, the teacher must also be active and creative in linking the subject matter with legal regulations regarding hoaxes. (2) The government must always improve the curriculum’s content to develop according to the needs of students in the present
