    This study identified subgroups of bladder pain syndrome/interstitial cystitis (BPS/IC) patients and potential treatment targets by combining validated questionnaires and patient diaries with discrete mathematical techniques. Hierarchical clustering of questionnaire data revealed three distinct patient groups. Analysis of patient diaries, employing natural language processing—a form of discrete data analysis—found keywords capturing emotional and psychological experiences, complementing the questionnaire results. Integration of questionnaire and diary data visualized the relationships between symptoms and treatment targets through a network graph. This personalized approach, akin to solving the traveling salesman problem in discrete mathematics, was validated through case studies, demonstrating its utility in guiding targeted interventions. The study emphasizes the significant potential of discrete mathematics-based data integration and visualization for personalized management of this complex condition

    This report describes the results of a nationwide survey of Spanish speakers on tropical cyclones in the United States. The 2023 Tropical Cyclone Spanish Survey (TCS23) was designed and administered by the Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis (IPPRA) at the University of Oklahoma. While it is the first time the survey has been translated into Spanish, an English-language version of the survey has been fielded annually for the last four years (see Ripberger et al. 2020, Krocak et al. 2021, Bitterman et al. 2022, and Bitterman et al. 2023 for more information on the 2020 Tropical Cyclone Survey (TC20), TC21, TC22, and TC23 surveys, respectively). TCS23 was fielded June 22 – July 7, 2023, using an online questionnaire that was completed by 402 U.S. adults (age 18+) who self-reported that they speak Spanish at least “well” and were recruited from an Internet panel that matches the characteristics of the U.S. Spanish speaking population as estimated in the U.S. Census. The TC20 survey, was designed to establish baseline measures of the extent to which U.S. adults receive, understand, and respond to tropical cyclone forecasts and warnings as well as trust in the National Weather Service (NWS), extreme weather and climate risk perceptions, risk literacy, interpretations of probabilistic language, and weather preparedness. The TC21 survey refined these measures and included a few questions about information preferences along the event timeline. The latest iteration of the survey, TC22, continued to track these base measures, while adding questions that test experiments related to the level of trust the public places in broadcast meteorologists and public perceptions of flood and storm surge products. Finally, the TC23 survey maintained these baseline questions while adding experiments related to equity in storm recovery and probabilistic communication. This survey, TCS23, is the first Spanish-language iteration of the survey and most closely resembled TC20 in order to establish a baseline of how adult Spanish speakers receive, understand, and respond to tropical cyclones and weather warnings. This report briefly describes the methodology, survey data collection, data weighting, and a reproduction of the survey instrument with weighted means and frequencies for the questions that elicited numeric responses.     This study is part of a multi-country research project that utilizes standardized methods to generate cost evidence on the delivery of COVID-19 (C19) vaccines in Vietnam, Bangladesh, and the Philippines in Asia, and Mozambique, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda in Africa. This was a retrospective, bottom-up costing study that estimated the financial and economic costs of delivering C19 vaccines in the DRC through routine and campaign delivery. The study estimates delivery costs for routine vaccine delivery and campaigns, covering different periods during which sites were active between November 2021 and June 2022. The study was conducted from the payer perspective, including costs incurred by health service providers, the immunization program at the Ministry of Public Health, Hygiene and Prevention, and development partners, at all levels of the health system. Data was collected retrospectively at a sample of 26 health facilities in the provinces of Kinshasa, Haut-Katanga, and Kongo Central, as well as all relevant health zone, provincial, national level offices, and 4 development partner organizations. Costs were disaggregated across program activities and resource types to analyze cost drivers.     This study investigated the impact of smartphone usage frequency on the effectiveness and ac-curacy of symbol location in a variety of spatial contexts on mobile maps using eye-tracking technology on the example of Mapy.cz. The scanning speed and symbol detection was also con-sidered. The use of mobile applications for navigation is discussed, emphasizing their populari-ty and convenience of use. The importance of eye-tracking as a valuable tool for testing the usa-bility of cartographic products, enabling the assessment of users' visual strategies and their abil-ity to memorize information, was highlighted. Frequency of smartphone use has been shown to be an important factor in users' ability to locate symbols in different spatial contexts. Everyday smartphone users have shown higher accuracy and efficiency in image processing, suggesting a potential link between habitual smartphone use and increased efficiency in mapping tasks. Par-ticipants who were dissatisfied with the legibility of the map looked longer at the symbols, suggesting that they put extra cognitive effort into decoding the symbols. In the present study, gender differences in pupil size were also observed during the study. The women consistently showed a larger pupil diameter, potentially indicating greater cognitive load on the partici-pants

    We present the analysis dataset, script, as well as the data collection forms from an evaluation of an 11-week, remote early learning program (RELP) delivered via WhatsApp calls and messages to families in areas of Lebanon with little or no access to ECE. The program was created in response to COVID-19 with a focus on Syrian refugee and vulnerable Lebanese families and tested in hard-to-access areas in order to capture impacts on those most likely to need remote ECE post-pandemic. It is shorter than typical school programming because in under-resourced, conflict-affected, and displaced settings it is not always possible to find the political will and resources, or to maintain families, for longer programming (see Bonilla et al., 2019). Thus, in seeking to provide ECE in such settings, it is critical that we understand the impact of programs that are shorter, cheaper, and potentially more scalable than full-year, in-person options. In this evaluation, we examine the impacts of both i) RELP alone and ii) RELP provided alongside a remote parenting support program (RPSP). Impacts presented are in comparison to a wait list control group who received RELP immediately following endline data collection. Analyses examine experimental impacts on child development, parenting, and caregiver well-being. The files provided include: 1) The analysis dataset titled "RELP_clean_deidentified". This dataset includes all outcome variables as well as covariates. Use "Models_dofile" to replicate the analyses. 2) The STATA .do file used to run the analyses, titled "Models_dofile" 3) The CAPI xls forms that were used to collect baseline and endline data for both the IDELA measure of child development as well as the caregiver surveys (baseline and endline) 4) The STATA .do file used to clean the data, run psychometrics and obtain outcome scores, and run the multiple imputation. This file is called "RELP_raw_to_analytic" and it is meant to provide transparency around data transformations that took place starting with the raw data and ending with the analysis dataset "RELP_clean_deidentified". 5) A pdf copy of the published pre-registration document.     Fibroblastic reticular cells (FRCs) were cultured in 6-well plates and treated with lipid particles (NP samples, n = 3 wells) or RNA-loaded lipid particle aggregates (RNA samples, n = 3 wells). 24 hours later, the cells were harvested, and RNA immediately extracted. The RNA samples were then sent to Novogene for library preparation. Sequencing was conducted on the Illumina NovaSeq 6000 platform, utilizing a paired-end 150 bp sequencing approach. The RNA used for treatment was GFP mRNA, obtained from Trilink (cat. L-7601)
