High temperature back-stress strengthening by heterogeneous nano TiBw in TC4 alloy
Back-stress strengthening has been proven to be an effective strategy in breaking the room temperature strength–ductility dilemma in hetero-structural metals matrix composite materials, which is difficult to achieve at high-temperature because of grain boundaries softening, dislocation annihilation and grain rotation. Hence, we induced back-stress strengthening to improve the high-temperature tensile properties of Ti alloy by the heterogeneous distribution of nano TiB whisker (TiBw). In this work, electron beam powder bed fusion (EB-PBF) with rapid solidification technology was employed to in-situ generate heterogeneous nano TiBw at both grain boundaries (GBs) and grain interiors. Grains can be significantly strengthening by high temperature back-stress due to the effective blockage of dislocation movement, grain boundary migration and grain boundary slip by nano-TiBw on GBs. Remarkably, intragranular nano TiBw (IG nano-TiBw) dramatically enhances the dislocation storage density. The heterogeneous distribution of nano TiBw achieves a 50°C increase in the service temperature of TC4 alloy
A Dataset of 10W, 85W, and 247W Photovoltaic Modules for Mismatch Loss Minimization in PV Arrays using Module Rearrangement Techniques
This work presents a comprehensive dataset featuring experimentally validated characteristics of newly produced photovoltaic (PV) modules, focusing on investigating and minimizing mismatch power losses in PV arrays through module rearrangement techniques. The dataset includes modules with power ratings of 10W, 85W, and 247W, with 40 individual module records for each rating. It includes important variables including fill factor, maximum power point power, maximum power point voltage, maximum power point current, and open circuit and short circuit current. The dataset was inspired by the difficulties caused by ±5% manufacturing tolerance for polycrystalline solar modules, which can result in mismatch power losses in recently installed photovoltaic arrays. These losses frequently show up as lower voltage in parallel branches and lower current in series strings, which eventually translate into lower array output power. This dataset is an invaluable resource for scholarly investigations, especially in the area of PV array optimization via efficient module rearrangement methods
Daily local-level estimates of ambient wildfire smoke PM2.5 for the contiguous US
Daily smoke PM2.5 predictions from Jan 1, 2006 to Dec 31, 2020 for the contiguous US. Native predictions were produced on a 10km grid, and county-, tract- and zcta-level smoke PM2.5 estimates are aggregated from 10 km resolution predictions using population- and area of intersection-weighted averaging.

Replication Data for: Political Divisions in Large Cities: The Socio-Spatial Basis of Legislative Behavior in Chicago and Toronto
Contemporary cities are frequently characterized as divided by race and socio-economic status, yet the political effects of segregation and stratification are rarely fully explored. Urban politics scholars have disagreed on whether urban politics is essentially consensual, conflicts are issue-based and transitory, or social and economic divides generate enduring political cleavages. We contribute to this debate with an analysis of elite conflict as manifested in recorded city council votes in two large, heterogeneous North American cities, Chicago and Toronto, over a multi-decade period. The analysis employs a new technique for analyzing the dimensionality of roll-call votes. We find evidence of durable coordination among ward councilors in both cities, however the substance of conflict differs. Correlating the dimensions of voting behavior with ward characteristics indicates that Chicago’s aldermen divide on racial lines, while Toronto’s councilors primarily divide on the place characteristics of wards, and secondarily on socio-economic status and ethnicity
