The Role of Work Motivation as A Mediating Influence of Work Environment and Islamic Work Discipline on Lecturer Performance
This study aims to determine the role of work motivation as a mediating influence of work environment and Islamic work discipline on lecturer performance in the era of disruption. The study location is PTMA in the Jakarta and Banten areas. The research method uses a quantitative approach of survey type and is associative or explanatory. The population in this study was lecturers totaling 1,838 lecturers, using the Slovin formula, a sample of 170 people was obtained using the purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and data analysis used SEM Smart PLS 3.2.9 analysis. The results of the study are known: (1) Work environment has a significant effect on Work Motivation at PTMA Jakarta Banten in the disruption era, (2) Work Discipline has a significant effect on Work Motivation at PTMA Jakarta Banten in the disruption era, (3) Work Motivation has a significant effect on Lecturer Performance at PTMA Jakarta Banten in the disruption era, (4) The role of Work Environment has a significant effect on Lecturer Performance at PTMA Jakarta Banten in the disruption era, (5) Work Discipline has a significant effect on Lecturer Performance at PTMA Jakarta Banten in the disruption era, (6) The Role of the Work Environment has a significant effect on Lecturer Performance mediated by Work Motivation at PTMA Jakarta Banten, (7) Work Discipline has a significant effect on Lecturer Performance mediated by Work Motivation at PTMA Jakarta Banten. This study implies that the role of work motivation as a mediating influence of the work environment and Islamic work discipline contributes positively to lecturer performance. The suggestion of this study is to pay attention to lecturer honoraria to be more tailored to the educational background, academic rank, and length of work of lecturers. Work facilities and equipment are expected to be more tailored to the needs of lecturers to support teaching activities. Further, improves security and comfort in learning activities. Class conditions that are not conducive in the future can create a conducive learning atmosphere so that learning activities run more effectively
Students From Single-Parent Households: Their Issues & Challenges
Single parenthood has been predicted as one of the causes of poor academic performance among school students. Most studies in Western countries reported that children of single-mother and single-father families perform academically lower than children of two-parent families. A phenomenological method of inquiry and analysis was used to explain the challenges and issues faced by students from single-parent households. In-depth interviews were conducted with five secondary school students at Klang Valley. The findings revealed that the students experienced five types of challenges: lack of parental guidance, grief of losing a parent, conflict between divorced parents, financial constraint, and societal perception. In overcoming the challenges, five strategies, which are talking to someone, listening to music, expressive writing, becoming more independent and feeling grateful were employed
Madrasah Head's Strategy in Improving the Culture of Educational Quality Based on Madrasah-Based Management at MTsN 5 Tangerang
This study aims to find strategies for madrasah heads to improve quality culture based on madrasah-based management. This research was conducted at MTSN 5 Tangerang located in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province. Research methods used in this study use qualitative methods with a phenomenological study approach. Data collection techniques are carried out through interviews, documentation, and observation. This study involved several participants, such as madrasah heads, teachers, education staff, students, and madrasah committees. The results of this study try to confirm the compatibility between the phenomena that occur in MTSN 5 Tangerang with management theories such as G.R.Terry's theory, Beck and Cowan's theory, McKinsey's 7S Framework theory, and Deming's theory. According to the findings of the researchers, the strategy of the head of the MTSN 5 Tangerang madrasah in improving the culture of education quality is carried out through planning, organizing, directing, and supervising based on madrasah-based management principles that are independence, achievement, environmental insight, and moral character. The characteristics of madrasah-based management are indicators of the success of the madrasah head's strategy in improving the culture of education quality. The implications of the strategy of the head of the MTSN 5 Tangerang madrasah in improving the culture of education quality can be seen from the increase in educational inputs, processes, and outputs in achieving the National Education Standards (SNP). Based on the description above, this dissertation research is considered important considering that the head of the madrasah has a central role in making strategic policies in the madrasah. The researcher's suggestion is that this research is expected to be a reference model for the government, public and private madrassas, and heads of madrassas in realizing quality and equitable Islamic education
Kesedaran Mahasiswa Dalam Kesiapsiagaan Memberi Bantuan Bencana Banjir
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membincangkan tentang kesedaran mahasiswa Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) dalam kesiapsiagaan memberi bantuan bencana banjir. Hampir setiap tahun Malaysia mengalami bencana banjir tidak mengira tempat atau negeri. Manakala mahasiswa yang bertindak sebagai sukarelawan merupakan elemen yang penting semasa proses bantuan. Amalan semasa dan pada masa depan di dalam mengendali atau menguruskan bencana banjir seharusnya melibatkan penyertaan dari kalangan mahasiswa universiti. Hal ini menjadikan mahasiswa akan terdedah kepada tindakan kesiapsiagaan untuk menghadapi pengurusan bencana banjir di dalam komuniti. Persoalannya, adakah kesedaran dalam kalangan mahasiswa dalam kesiapsiagaan memberi bantuan banjir? Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif menerusi kaedah analisis kandungan. Hasil kajian mendapati kesedaran mahasiswa adalah terletak kepada diri masing-masing selain daripada pendedahan dari pihak universiti dalam memberi kesedaran dan kesiapsiagaan untuk memberi bantuan bencana banjir. How Telemedicine Help People To Feel Secure During Pandemic of Covid-19
The aim of this paper is to give brief explanation about how the world changed after covid-19 outbreak. Thus situation forced people to adapt in order to survive this ongoing stressful life event. Almost all country in the world began to apply social distancing policy just to protect people from the risk of getting exposed by the virus. As the result, people are getting hard to reach health facility when they need it. Day by day, the numbers of active cases keep increasing and getting hard to control. Health is one of important thing in human’s life. Because if they don’t take good care of their health, then something bad might happen. Indonesian government through The Ministry of Health created new regulation about telemedicine in order to give alternative in solving health problems for those who is unwilling to leave the house or visiting the nearest public health facility. Of course there will always be pros and cons but as scientist, we should learn to see things objectively. That’s why in this paper, we will discuss further about how this service helps many people’s life and bring security in so-called “new normal” or others may say “life after pandemic”
Internalization of Yogyakarta Cultural Local Wisdom Values in the Duties of Social Workers as State Civil Apparatus
This research is motivated by the disappearance of the values of Javanese cultural wisdom which can be used as guidelines for behavior. The fading of the value of local wisdom has also penetrated the State Civil Apparatus. This study aims to describe the values of local wisdom of Yogyakarta culture to be implemented in general principles or to run the Yogyakarta Special Region Government. This research uses the descriptive method. Collecting data using literature study. The data analysis uses a reflective approach to the values contained in the local wisdom of Yogyakarta culture. The results of the study indicate that Social Workers as part of the ASN have internalized the values of local wisdom through the culture of the SATRIYA Government. The hope is that the services provided by social workers can be perceived as useful services for those who need social services
Integrating Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) in Dealing with Psychological Distress among Malaysian Clients
Solution focused therapy is one of the growing therapies used among psychologists and counselors for helping clients with psychological distress conditions. Despite the increasing number of successful research on the treatment of solution focused therapy, there is no specific approach to apply the therapy among Malaysian clients. Literature shows that Malaysian clients shares similar orientation such as collectivism, past-time orientation and psycho-spiritual. They needed slightly different therapy approach than the westerner. Thus, this conceptual paper suggested a new counselling model that integrates the counselling orientations among Malaysian clients and the main techniques of the solution focused therapy. The model displays the relationship of relevance concepts which can be serves as guideline for counselors and as a fundamental for research and practices of solution focused therapy counselling in Malaysia. 
The Echo Chamber Phenomenon and It's Effect in Community Empowerment Practice
The existence of closed communication patterns between individuals in groups describes the phenomena of echo chamber, which is a form of communication in which a person only hears to the same opinion as he thinks. If there is polarization of opinion among groups in society, this phenomena will become a problem. As a result, macro social workers must see this occurrence as a potential threat in their work. The purpose of this research is to define the echo chamber phenomena and its implications for community empowerment. The issues of community empowerment practices carried out by social workers in Cigugur Girang village are described in this study using a qualitative approach and a case study method. The findings conclude that the echo chamber effect can arise among persons who are in conflict. The conflict causes societal polarization, which has an impact on macro social worker practice. It's tough for social professionals to find a place amid polarized groups. As a result, the empowerment goal will be hampered
Regulation of Emotions in Crowd Control Police
Emotion is an important factor for achieving positive performance. Especially crowd control police performance. In certain situations, there is confrontation and violence. A narrative of riots was created, because police clashed with demonstrators. The emotion regulation and their physiological indicators becomes a co-occurring phenomenon in a riot of demonstrations. Police anger in violent demonstration situations needs to be clearly mapped. This study intends to map the dominance of emotion regulation by involving heart rate indicators. Riot demonstration stimulus was given to participants to stimulate aggressive impulses, heart rate was measured when participants watched the video. Research participants come from Crowd Control Police in the Jakarta working area. Research data is tested by correlating emotion regulation with heart rate, provocation, and impulsive aggression. The results found the dominance of emotion regulation to other variables. The pulsating impulse of the riot stimulus effect is suppressed by emotion regulation. Research findings recommend the need to optimize the role of emotion regulation in dealing with violent demonstration situations. Optimization is done to apply emotion regulation consistently. Psychological Dilemmas of People Trapped in Telecommunication Network Fraud Under the Post-Epidemic Situation and the Social Work Interventions
The consequences of telecommunication network fraud are becoming more and more serious, which seriously affects social harmony and stability. The psychological dilemmas of those caught in telecommunication network fraud constrain their mental lives and behavioral patterns and are a key element in cultivating a good social mindset to maintain social stability. A study of five victims aged 22-50 years old found that the psychological manifestations of those caught in telecommunication network fraud were different but similar, and their psychological dilemmas were mainly reflected in cognitive bias and irrational beliefs, many negative emotions and barriers to emotional support, and behavioral tendencies to escape from society and even suicide. The path of social work intervention includes: helping to establish rational cognition, providing targeted psychological counseling, helping to establish a social support network, and advocating to create a good social atmosphere.
