    Why Homeschooling? ”The Role of Parental Leadership in Choosing Homeschooling: Maximizing Children\u27s Potential”

    This article aims to find out what are the parents’ reasons make the decision to send their children to homeschooling. In this context of education, choosing to homeschool is an alternative for parents who want to provide more personal education and focus on their children. The decision to choose to homeschool is influenced by many factors, that parents’ beliefs about formal education, availability of resources, environmental conditions, and children’s preferences. This research method uses a qualitative approach with case studies. Where this research uses case research at institutions that provide homeschooling services, in Bogor Area. This study used interview and observation techniques, the research team conducted interviews with principals, parents, and students. These results indicate the selection of homeschooling is based on parents who understand that every child has a nature, they learn of coercion. Children have to be given comfort in learning because comfortable learning will make children not bored in learning. The teacher’s task is as a facilitator about what they need. Teachers and parents together in achieving goals tailor-made for their children, because to get there, an interview with parents is needed regarding their readiness to become partners, if parents do not cooperate with the teacher, then the school will follow up and it is not recommended to take part in the learning process

    Developing the Students’ Critical Thinking in Management Information System Courses through the Inquiry Method

    One of the essential abilities expected to be created and grown after students take a specific class is the ability to think critically, which becomes an indicator of learning quality. Critical thinking skills are essential in life, which can be used to solve problems and issues, and will make a lifelong learner. This study aims to analyze the significance of the influence of the implementation of the inquiry method in improving students\u27 critical thinking skills in the Management Information Systems course. The research was conducted on 168 students taking the Management Information Systems course in the Management Studies program at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sumatera Utara, but 113 returned questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis techniques and simple regression. The results showed a positive and significant effect of implementing the inquiry method on students\u27 critical thinking skills in the management information system course. Meanwhile, the R Square value is 0.642, which means that the influence exerted by the inquiry method in increasing students\u27 critical thinking is 64.2%. This can be used as a recommendation to improve the students\u27 necessary thinking skills

    The Effect of Using Live Worksheet-Based Electronic Worksheets to Measure Cognitive Learning Outcomes

    This study aimed to determine the effect of using live worksheet-based Electronic Student Worksheets (LKPD) to measure cognitive learning outcomes. This research approach uses quantitative research. The subjects in this study were students at Cimanggung State Senior High School class XI for the 2022/2023 academic year, totalling 72 respondents. The data collection method used in this research is a questionnaire method by giving questionnaires and tests to respondents as assessment material. The data analysis used was univariate and bivariate analysis through SPSS software. The results showed that the average value of the group given live worksheet-based LKPD was higher than the group that was not given live worksheet-based LKPD. The average value of the control class is 40.8 (low) to 66.7 (high). At the same time, the average value of the class given the treatment of giving Live Worksheet-based LKPD with a pre-test score (of 41.3), which means low, and a post-test score (of 75.7), which means very high. There is a significant difference in the effect of pre-test and post-test learning outcomes on students who use Live Worksheet-based LKPD in PPKn class XI SMA N Cimanggung lessons

    The study in this research aims to determine the implementation of the Beasiswa Pendidikan Indonesia (BPI) program policy organized by the Kementerian Pendidikan Kebudayaan Riset dan Teknologi (Kemdikbudristek) with a series of research using descriptive-qualitative methods through interviews and documentation studies. The research targets were the Pusat Layanan Pembiayaan Pendidikan (Puslapdik) and teachers in Indonesia. From the research activities carried out, it was found that, in general, most people in this case (teachers and education personnel) were aware of the BPI program initiated by Kemdikbudristek. However, there are still some problems that must be of particular concern to Kemdikbudristek to be followed up to disseminate the advantages of the BPI program as a form of active steps to solve educational problems by providing the widest possible opportunity for teachers and education personnel to continue competence in certain scientific fields in order to develop academic and technical abilities in Higher Education through participation in the selection of the BPI program. Therefore, the government needs to make measurable efforts by conducting routine and consistent socialization activities in conducting a holistic public introduction to the BPI program through meetings with program implementers and including training for teachers and education personnel such as; partnering with the Education community in the societ

    A study in grade 4 shows that using slang from the Tiktok application affects how children use familiar words. Identifying the influence of Tiktok on the use of standard terms in 4th-grade elementary school children is the aim of the researchers to conduct research. This research method collects data qualitatively to provide specific information about a particular problem. Qualitative and observational methods were used to collect this data, interviews and written tests. The subjects of this study were 26 grade 4 students of UPT SD Negeri 32 Gresik. This research on grade 4 students shows that half of the students use slang and mixed language. Also, common words are only used by half of the other students. With these results, teachers and parents can determine how much Tiktok impacts children\u27s language style

    Implementation of Job Shadowing Learning Model Towards Task Skill Practice of Normal Delivery Care for Students of Midwifery

    This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the job shadowing learning model in the practice of normal delivery care for task skills. This type of quantitative research has a quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design. The sample size is 33 people. The collection used a task-skill questionnaire about normal delivery care. The task skill components measured include task management skills (TMS), work environment skills (WES), interpersonal skills (IS), and workplace learning skills (WLS). The results showed a difference in the average pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 task skills, which experienced an increase. Statistically, the t-dependent test shows a p-value of 0.000, meaning that the job shadowing learning model in normal delivery care effectively increases task skills. It is hoped that midwifery education institutions will strengthen the evaluation of learning about normal delivery care practices through the job shadowing learning model by paying attention to the task skill aspect. This requires increased external cooperation, such as maternity homes and hospitals, as places for midwifery students to apply their knowledge.

    The homeroom teacher is the main figure whose role is necessary for students to develop character. This is what encourages researchers to examine what kind of role homeroom teachers need to play in developing the character of their students. The research focuses on describing the role of homeroom teachers, from planning and guiding to instilling the values ​​written in national education. The study in this research is to use a qualitative descriptive model. This research was carried out at SMPIT ARRAHMAH, with the research subjects being homeroom teachers, principals, and several student representatives in each class. After researching data analysis, it was found that the role of homeroom teachers in developing student character at SMPIT ARRAHMAH is to collect information related to students, conduct research on student development and progress, supervise students\u27 daily activities, organize orientation activities, provide direction and motivation to students, organize and place students and monitor social interactions with other individuals, in implementing student character values ​​by national education, namely religious values, honesty, politeness, discipline, independence, and responsibility.     Teachers\u27 Efforts in Overcoming Difficulties Learning to Read in Elementary School Students

    This study aims to explain teachers\u27 efforts in overcoming reading learning difficulties in grade II students of Gonda State Elementary School, Baubau City. This type of research is qualitative research with descriptive methods. The study subjects used were grade II teachers, with 23 students consisting of 11 female and 12 male students. The method or technique of data collection used is observation, interview, and documentation. Data analysis is carried out by reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The research results on teachers\u27 efforts in overcoming reading learning difficulties in grade II students of Gonda State Elementary School in Baubaubau City have two steps: choosing and implementing effective learning strategies and learning methods. The learning strategy used is introducing the alphabet to students first, Utilizing reading corners, conducting tutoring, and habituating to reading together during the learning process. The learning method is by approaching students and giving reading practice tasks and giving interesting reading spelling books. The forms of teacher efforts are expected to effectively overcome students\u27 reading learning difficulties, especially in grade II students of Gonda State Elementary School in Baubau City

    One of the chemicals that is considered difficult is the colligative properties of solutions. Difficulty understanding material colligative properties of solutions can hinder students\u27 understanding of other concepts. The purpose of this research was to find out the increase in creative thinking skills and mastery of students\u27 material after participating in the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model of learning. The research method used was quasi-experimental research, with the research design used being one group pretest-posttest design. In this study, the experimental class was treated using the Problem Based Learning learning model on colligative properties of solutions. The population in this study were undergraduate students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The sample in this study were Bachelor of Chemistry Education students at HKBP Nommensen Pematangsiantar University. The results of research on student learning outcomes in the material Colligative Properties of Solutions using the PBL learning model increased from 42.6% students\u27 pretest scores and 84.16% students\u27 posttests, the increase obtained was 41.56%. The conclusion of the research is that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model has a significant effect on students\u27 creative thinking skills. This can be proven from the average value of students\u27 creative thinking skills in the experimental class at each meeting has increase

    Soft Skill Values in Basic Accounting Learning in Accounting Department of Vocational High Schools

    This study aims to describe: (1) soft skill values instilled in students by accounting teachers, (2) the process of instilling soft skills in students by accounting teachers, (3) Barriers and supporting factors in instilling soft skills in students. This research is qualitative using ethnographic design. Data sources of the study are accounting teachers and first-grade students in the accounting department. Data collection techniques were performed through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique conducted during the study was analyzing the data contained in the research site in which the results were used as conclusions to answer the objectives of the study. The research results revealed seven aspects of soft skills, namely self-confidence, communication skill, emotional intelligence, critical thinking skill, teamwork ability, time management, and leadership. The instilling of soft skills in students through cooperative learning strategies and providing positive habituation to students was performed during the teaching-learning process. The barriers of instilling soft skills, which are the lack of students’ abilities, the difficulty to control students, and the lack of teachers’ competences in developing learning methods. Whereas, the supporting factors are the small number of students in each class so the instilling of soft skill became sufficient and the numerous supports given by the school community
