The Role of The Subject Teacher Conference (MGMP) For The Progress of Subject Teacher
This research aims to know the role of MGMP in the progress of subject teachers. The research method used was qualitative with a survey research design. The instrument used in data collection was questionnaires distributed online through Google Forms, with 105 respondents. The data analysis technique is an interactive model that goes through three stages: data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. Then proceed with triangulation. The results showed that MGMP has a high role in improving the quality of subject teachers because, in MGMP, there are many things discussed, such as improving teacher performance, teaching materials or materials, curriculum, about good PBM so that the material reaches students, lesson plans, how to deal with students and compile exam questions. This study concludes that MGMP is an essential forum for teachers to conduct deliberations to solve further everything that exists to improve the quality of the times. Through more frequent MGMP meetings, it can achieve educational goals and make teachers more professional. The study\u27s implication is to advise the government that MGMP is very influential on the progress of subject teacher performance so that the government is more concerned about non-formal organizations and members in them
Analysis of E-Learning Activities as School Learning Media in the Era of Society 5.0 Using Big Data
To prepare the community to face Society 5.0, cooperation is needed from various parties, including the education sector. The development of the education sector is crucial today, as it provides optimal and quality educational services and facilitates technological advancements. Regarding educational technology, a system utilized to support learning and achieve desired outcomes, it is important to associate it with the Society 5.0 era. One form of technological development in education that can be used as a learning medium is e-learning. This research adopts a quantitative approach. The research subjects consist of secondary data from a Kaggle dataset titled "Students Adaptability Level in Online Education," which was collected by Md. Aktaruzzaman Pramanik and Nishat Ahmed Samrin. The data includes 530 students who participated in online learning at schools. The results of this research indicate that the development of information technology in the Society 5.0 era can be utilized by the education sector, such as through e-learning as a learning medium. The impact of these research findings can be observed in the quality of education in Indonesia, where all aspects of life coexist with digital media
Wattpad’s Role in Motivating Secondary School Students to Write a Narrative Text: A Case Study
This study aims to investigate Wattpad\u27s role in motivating secondary school students to write narrative texts. As an online application, Wattpad offers several benefits for students, particularly those with low motivation in writing due to difficulties learning vocabulary and a lack of ideas or inspiration when composing a narrative text. Therefore, exploring the efforts of students who utilize Wattpad to develop their writing skills is interesting, specifically by using narrative texts as the application\u27s content. This research employed a qualitative case study approach, in which the researcher conducted interviews with three 11th-grade students from SMA Negeri 1 Wringinanom during the academic year 2022/2023. The data obtained from the interviews were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The study findings revealed that Wattpad significantly motivates secondary school students to write narrative texts. The platform aids students in nurturing their imagination and discovering new vocabulary through the narrative stories on the Wattpad application. Furthermore, the study suggests that students with writing talent can further develop their skills on this platform, allowing their work to be recognized and read by a wider audience
The Influence of Principal\u27s Participative Leadership Style and Work Climate on Public Middle School Teacher Performance
There is still a phenomenon in the field where some teachers lack discipline in teaching, and their motivation fluctuates, thus lowering the quality of their performance. Teachers\u27 work or organizational climate is also seen as less favourable, possibly due to a lack of effective communication and feelings of jealousy towards colleagues. Indeed, this will impact the teachers\u27 emotional state, which in turn affects their performance. Leadership participation is needed in such conditions. This study is field research with a quantitative approach. The research subjects consisted of 30 teachers. The research findings conclude that: a) there is an influence of the principal\u27s participative leadership style on the performance of middle school teachers, b) there is an influence of the work climate on the performance of middle school teachers, c) there is a combined influence of the principal\u27s participative leadership style and the work climate on the performance of middle school teachers, and d) the simultaneous influence of the independent variables, the principal\u27s participative leadership style, and the work climate, on the dependent variable, the performance of middle school teachers, accounts for approximately 90.1% and is influenced by other unmentioned variables. The implications of this research can serve as a guideline for school principals to implement a participative leadership style that supports teachers in developing their performance and creates a positive and conducive work climate to enhance teachers\u27 performance in schools
Mapalus In Educational Leadership
Abstract: Mapalus is the philosophy of life for the people of Minahasa, North Sulawesi, in the general sense of mutual cooperation. This study aims to describe Mapalus\u27 relationship with types, styles, principles, and principles in educational leadership. This study uses library research methods (library research). Data was collected through books, literature, references, and articles related to Mapalus and Educational Leadership. The results showed that Mapalus, which contains the principles of kinship, cooperation, and religion with the principles of mutual assistance, openness, discipline, and togetherness, has a relationship with democratic leadership, free leadership, charismatic leadership, paternalistic leadership, expert leadership, visionary leadership, and moralist leadership, but not has a relationship with authoritarian leadership because it is not in accordance with the principles and principles of Mapalus. Meanwhile, the principles and principles of Mapalus have a very close relationship with educational leadership
Improving the Counting Early Competence of the Group B Students of PAUD An-Nisa Through Number Block Media
This research is entitled “Improving The Counting Early Competence of The Group B Students of PAUD An-Nisa Through Number Block Media”. This research aims to know the improvement of the group B students\u27 competence of PAUD An- Nisa in counting early by using number block media. In this research, the researcher used Action Research as the research Methodology, which consists of a plan, action, observation, and reflection. This research was done in 2 cycles, and the research instruments used were observation, scoring rubric sheets, and documentation. After implementing the research, the results showed that 1). the students’ competence in counting early using the number block media improved significantly. It can be proved by the result of students\u27 learning result in cycle 1 showed 35% to be 89% in cycle 2. 2). Percentage of the student\u27s activities in the first cycle was 50% increase to 94% in the second cycle. 3). The percentage of the teacher’s activities in cycle 1 was 65.41%, increasing to 96.5% in cycle 2. Based on the result above, using number block media could improve the competence of the group B students of PAUD An-Nisa in learning to count early. The number block media used could help the students learn to count early so that the student\u27s competence could be improved
EFL Teachers’ Strategies in Teaching Reading Skill in Lower Secondary School
Reading is a receptive skill that students require, and it takes work to teach reading. Thus, teaching strategies for reading skills attracting students\u27 interests are the keys to better reading comprehension. This study aimed to investigate EFL teachers’ strategies in teaching reading skills in lower secondary schools, how they implemented the strategies in teaching reading comprehension, and the student\u27s responses. The method of this research was a qualitative design. The subjects of this research were six EFL teachers of SMPN 28 Tangerang, Banten. The instruments of this study were observation and interview. The study results showed four strategies the EFL teachers used in teaching reading skills: Scaffolding, Think-aloud, Question Answer Relationship (QAR), and Teacher as a Center. Thus, it is suggested that EFL teachers use various teaching strategies for reading skills to improve students\u27 reading skills. The variety of EFL teachers\u27 strategies would provide more pleasant and exciting learning atmospheres, encouraging the students to be interested in reading English texts
The Effect of Contextual Teaching Learning (CTL) Model on Students’ Achievement in Elementary School
This study aims to determine the effect of the CTL model on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong and to find out how much influence the CTL model has on the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Peunaga. Cut Ujong. The approach in this study uses a quantitative approach. This type of research uses a pre-experimental design. The population in this study were the fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Peunaga Cut Ujong, as many as 26 students. The sampling technique used in this research is intact-group comparison. The sample in this study was 13 students in the experimental class and as many as 13 students in the control class. The data collection techniques used in this study were observation, tests, and documentation. This study\u27s instruments used to collect data consisted of observation sheets, test sheets, and validation sheets. The results of this study are from the analysis obtained tcount = 0.965 > ttable = 0.05, it is concluded that the hypothesis is accepted, the conclusion is that there is a difference or influence of the CTL model on student learning outcomes between students who are taught using the CTL with students who are taught by not using CTL model
Improving Expressive Language Skills Using Characterized Hand Puppets
There are four language skills, namely, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Kindergarten-aged children only need to hear and speak correctly and according to their age development. According to Departemen Pendidikan Nasional (2003), the fiction of language development for early childhood is as a means of communication with the environment, as a tool for developing children\u27s innate, actual abilities, as a tool for developing children\u27s expression, and as a tool for expressing feelings and thoughts to others. This study aimed to improve early childhood expressive language skills using character hand puppets in group B1 TK ABA Wonosari IV as many as 15 children. Data collection through observation and documentation. The results showed an increase in indicators in the pre-cycle conditions of 13% and 60% in the first and 93% in the second cycles. The power analysis results concluded that using character hand puppet media could improve expressive language in group B1 TK ABA Wonosari IV. The researcher suggests that teachers use character puppet media to improve children\u27s expressive language skills
The Implementation of Picture Series as Learning Media to Improve Students\u27 Writing Ability Related to Historical Events in Recount Text
The objectives of this research are: (1) to find out the class situation during the implementation of picture series in teaching writing, and (2) to determine the improvement of students\u27 ability to write recount text using picture series. The research used a qualitative. The classroom action research design used in this research consisted of two cycles. The data were collected from observation, field notes, and interviews. The research participants are 34 students in the tenth grade of SMA YKM Tanjungsari. The results showed that picture series could improve students’ ability to write recount text, create a fun learning atmosphere, and increase students’ writing interest. In the first cycle, the percentage of learning activities was 18%; in the second cycle, 80% of students got excellent categories. The two cycles could effectively improve students\u27 writing ability in recounting text. The students could develop their ideas to make a story and were active and enthusiastic in the teaching-learning process. It demonstrates that writing a recount text using picture series as learning media for X MIPA 1 student at SMA YKM Tanjungsari has been improved
