    Get PDF
This research attempted to verify improved vocabulary achievement using the Crossword Game for the eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Krian. The method used was classroom action research. The reason why this research was done is because of the pre–cycle outcome. Only five students passed the criteria of minimum score (KKM). So, the researcher wanted to give fun vocabulary learning through Crossword Games. This research was done in 3 cycles. And the subject was one class of eleventh-grade students, which was a class that consisted of 28 students. The instruments were observation, tests, and questionnaires. According to the data analysis, the second cycle\u27s scores are higher than the first. From 17% in pre–test to 75% in post–test 1, it meant that there was an improvement about 58%. Post-test 2, the students passed 85%. Observation showed that students became more engaged when crossword games were used, and their activities dominated the learning process. As much as 92% of students gave a positive opinion about crossword games that said crossword was fun, engaging, and easy for students to study vocabulary. Therefore, teaching the English language using crossword puzzle games could improve the students\u27 vocabulary achievement

This study aimed to determine whether differentiation learning in junior high school mathematics learning was practical. The method used in this study is a quasi-experimental research design with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study were all eighth graders of St Yoseph Private Junior High School Medan, which consisted of five classes with 32 people in each class. The sample in this study was 64 students consisting of 32 students for the experimental class and 32 for the control class. The results showed that the average student activity in content differentiation was 2.33 in the excellent category, the application of process differentiation was 2.33 in the excellent category, and the application of product differentiation was in a suitable category. The average value of teachers\u27 ability to implement content differentiation is 3 in the excellent category, the average value in the implementation of process differentiation is 2.25 in the excellent category, and the implementation of product differentiation is 2.75 in the excellent category. Based on the results of research and hypothesis testing that has been carried out, the differentiation learning process runs effectively, which can improve students\u27 mathematical abilities. This can be seen from the difference in the average post-test score of students in the experimental class and control class of 2.25%, the percentage of students who meet the KKM is 62.5%, the average student activity is 76.6%, and also the average level of teacher ability in managing differentiation learning in the experimental class is 89%. This research implies that differentiation learning is effectively used for junior high school mathematics learnin

Mathematics is one of the compulsory subjects in formal education and has an essential role in the world of education. This research was conducted to determine the results of learning mathematics in students at STIKes Senior Medan online and offline. This study used a quasi-experiment using the comparative method. The number of samples used was from two classes and given two other learning treatments, namely online and offline. The samples used were 34 students for the odd school year 2020/2021 (online) and 39 for the bizarre school year 2021/2022 (offline). Then a normality and homogeneity test was carried out using the Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) application program to determine whether the data were normally distributed and had the same variance. The results of testing the hypothesis using the independent t-test sig (2-tailed) 0.048 <0.05, so that as a basis for decision making in the independent sample t-test, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, with a 95% confidence level, there is a significant (significant) difference between online learning UAS mathematics learning outcomes and offline learning UAS mathematics learning outcomes

    Get PDF
This study aims to determine the increase in the ability of class teachers to implement the PAIKEM learning model through the application of clinical supervision with a collaborative approach at SDS Santa Lucia Sei Rotan. A sample of 10 people was determined based on a purposive sampling technique. The research was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of four stages: planning, implementing activities, observing, and reflecting. Data collection through interviews, observation, and documentation. The study\u27s results concluded: (1) In the pre-cycle, teachers still needed to implement the PAIKEM learning model. (2) In the first cycle, the teacher\u27s ability score to apply the PAIKEM learning model = 52.22 (very low). In the second cycle, the teacher\u27s ability increased significantly, namely 95.46 (very good). (3) Student activity in the first cycle average score = 65 (poor category). There was a fairly high increase in the second cycle, with an average score = of 91.67 (very good). The findings of this study, through the application of clinical supervision with a collaborative approach, can improve the teaching abilities of class teachers with the PAIKEM learning model

Arithmetic is a field of mathematics closely related to human existence. It will be helpful for anyone to perform any task that requires calculation if they have a basic understanding of mathematics. However, sometimes it is optional to carry out precise calculations. Counting is the backbone or breath of learning mathematics. Students\u27 ability to count becomes vital in teaching mathematics to students. The research aimed to measure Class VII students\u27 numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 1 Siantar, Simalungun Regency. The method used is a descriptive-quantitative approach. The population is nine classes with 254 students, and the sample is taken in layers and randomly as many as four classes with 112 students. The nine classes consist of 2 groups, namely the Superior Class (KU) of 2 classes, namely class VII1 and class VII2, and the Ordinary Class (KB) of 7 classes, namely class VII3, VII4, VII5, to class VII9. The research concluded that the Superior Class could count, while the Ordinary Class was 5.95% unable to count. The findings of this study imply that apart from providing students with a better learning environment and infrastructure, it is essential to improve their arithmetic skills

Problem-Based Learning Method for Improving the Learning Achievement of Students

    Get PDF
The issue with this study is the low levels of student learning outcomes and learning activities in the sample IPS2 individuals. The objective of this project is to raise student learning outcomes and active learning achievement in social studies. PTK, or classroom action research, is the term used to describe this sort of study. Planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection are all phases of research. The information used in this study came from watching student learning outcomes and activities in Social Sciences 2 courses. According to the recapitulation data, the first cycle\u27s average percentage of learning activities was 63.8%, and the second cycle\u27s average percentage was 89.34%. This demonstrates an increase in student learning activities. In cycles I and II, respectively, the average student learning outcome was 42.22% and 71.04%. This demonstrates that social studies 2 student learning outcomes have improved. The minimum completeness score (71.04%) is obtained, according to the recapitulation of learning activities and student learning outcomes using problem-based learning techniques. Thus, applying the problem-based learning method can improve learning outcomes and learning activities of class C1 IPS2 students of the PGMI FAI-UMI Makassar Study Program

    Get PDF
The Nglagena Javanese script is one of the cultural assets of the Indonesian nation that needs to be preserved. Various efforts have been made to preserve this script, one of which is using information technology as a learning medium for the Nglagena Javanese script. Information Technology allows the Javanese script to be introduced interactively to students. To support this need, one of which is the ability of information technology to classify Javanese script. Classification of Javanese script is carried out using the Backpropagation Artificial Neural Network (BANN) method. Twenty primary Javanese characters are classified as classes using the Backpropagation Artificial Neural Network (BANN) method. The stages of this research are initial processing, feature extraction, model training, and model testing. Initial processing is carried out to prepare image data so that it is ready for the feature extraction process. The feature extraction method is the Histogram Chain Code (HCC) to obtain the main characteristics of each data class or character of the Nglegena Javanese script. This study compares three research models by adjusting the ratio between the training image data and the test image so that the model that produces the highest accuracy value is produced. The model training and testing process uses 2000 image data, with the percentage distribution of training image data and test images, namely 20%, 80%, second 50%, 50%, and third 80%, 20%, resulting in different levels of accuracy. The results are to produce successive accuracy of 66%, 72%, and 88%
