Advanced CIGS-mesoporous TiO2 hybrid photocathode functionalized with cobalt quaterpyridine for solar-driven CO₂ reduction

    No full text
International audienceHybrid photocathodes that integrate inorganic semiconductors with molecular catalysts offer a promising strategy for photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction into value-added products. In this work, we present the design and characterization of a high-performance photocathode based on copper indium gallium sulfide (CIGSu), functionalized with a cobalt quaterpyridine (CoQPy) molecular catalyst. The device features a thin (5 nm) TiO2 protective layer deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) on CIGSu/CdS, followed by a mesoporous TiO2 layer formed under mild conditions using UV curing and low-temperature annealing (150°C). The mesoporous structure enables high CoQPy loading through chemisorption via phosphonic acid anchoring groups. Under simulated sunlight, the optimized photocathode delivers a photocurrent density of ca. 2 mA/cm² with 95% CO selectivity in carbonate buffer, double the 2 performance of systems using low-porosity TiO2. This work marks progress toward efficient, molecularly functionalized photocathodes for aqueous CO2 reduction

Methods: A descriptive correlational approach was employed to analyze the psychometric properties of the scale in terms of validity, internal consistency, and confirmatory factor analysis. The research sample consisted of 348 participants aged 7 to 12 years (198 boys, representing 56.9%, and 150 girls, representing 43.1%). Results:The results demonstrated strong evidence of the scale's construct validity, reliability, and alignment with the original three-dimensional structure, encompassing affective empathy, cognitive empathy, and behavioral empathy. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed that all item loadings fell within the acceptable range, indicating that the items effectively belonged to their respective dimensions. The results of absolute and incremental fit indices indicated similarity between the empathy scale of the Arabic model and the original one. Conclusions: The Arabic Empathy Scale for Children and Adolescents (EmQue-CA) has been proven valid and reliable for children between the ages of 7 and 12, making it a valuable scientific tool for clinicians, psychotherapists, and researchers.</div

Solving a Flexible Layout Design Problem

    No full text
International audienceThis work focuses on the resolution of the Flexible Layout Design Problem (FLDP), related to MMS (Matrix Structured Manufacturing System), focusing on workstation layout and AGV flow to improve efficiency and reduce transport distances. The authors propose two approaches to solving the problem. The first is based on the modeling of the problem by a linear mixed-integer program, while the second is a 2-phase method: the first phase is the resolution of the problem in a simplified version (which does not take into account resource assignments) and the second is a heuristic which deals with resources and their allocations. Comparative tests of the two methods are carried out and show that the best solutions given by the solver outperform those given by the two-phase method, albeit at the cost of much higher computation times

Where and When to Look: How Expertise and Mental Fatigue Shape Visual Exploration in a Football Task

    No full text
Skillful performance requires picking up information at the righttime to both accurately perform ongoing action and search for subsequent ones. The current experiment aimed to compare the visual exploratory activity (VEA) of skilled (n = 23) and novice (n = 21) players in a football-based dual task scenario that required to manage competing visual demands for ball manipulation and environmental scanning. Skilled players performed the task faster than novices and showed a more proactive VEA: they spent moretime looking at cues related to future passing opportunities while novices looked more at cues related to ball reception. In addition, skilled players made longer scanning movements before receiving the ball, but they did not perform significantly more head movements than novices. Under mental fatigue, skilled participants preserved their VEA patterns but required longer visual fixations, suggesting a reduced rate of information processing. These findings suggest that expertise in VEA is characterised by the efficient allocation of visual attention rather than its sheer quantity

Development of multi-step acid/redox-based process for recovery of solid oxide cells components

    No full text
International audienceRecycling pathways for end-of-life cells or waste production must be established to improve the lifecycle of solid oxide cells and develop more sustainable hydrogen production systems. This work details a multi-step procedure allowing the separation and recovery processes of a commercial cell based on the different solubility and redox properties of its constituent materials, i.e. LSCF, NiO, GDC, and YSZ. Commonly used nitric acid solutions or mixed nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide solutions at varying concentrations are the only necessary reagents. Each recovered material was fully characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, ICP-AES and EDX. This innovative step-by-step method allows the treatment of more than 95 % of the initial mass of the cell, the separation of YSZ and GDC, and the recovery of NiO and YSZ at respective commercial grade purities of 99 and 95 wt%

Expert consensus‑based clinical practice guidelines for nutritional support in the intensive care unit: the French Intensive Care Society (SRLF) and the French-Speaking Group of Pediatric Emergency Physicians and Intensivists (GFRUP)

International audienceThe objective of this work was to develop guidelines for nutritional support in critically ill adults and children (excluding neonates and burn patients) unable to maintain an adequate oral intake. We aimed to provide up-to-date recommendations based on high-level evidence including the results of recent landmark randomized controlled trials. Experts from the French Intensive Care Society (SRLF), the French Society of Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (SFNCM), and the French-Speaking Group of Pediatric Emergency Physicians and Intensivists (GFRUP) used the GRADE methodology to develop the guidelines. Twenty-four Patient Intervention Comparator Outcome (PICO) questions were identified, resulting in 34 adult and 29 pediatric recommendations. Of the 34 recommendations for adults, three were based on high-level evidence, 12 on moderate-level evidence, and 19 on expert opinion. The corresponding numbers for the 29 pediatric recommendations were one, five, and 23. All recommendations achieved strong agreement among the experts. These guidelines emphasize the importance of individualized nutritional support strategies that incorporate recent high-quality evidence to optimize the outcomes of critically ill patients
