Hardness and yield strength of dentin from simulated nano-indentation tests
The finite element method (FEM) is applied for studying the hardness (H) and yield strength (Y) of dentin subjected to a nano-indentation process. The nanoindentation experiments were simulated with the ABAQUS finite element software package. This test, performed with a spherical indenter, was simulated by axisymmetric finite element analysis. The load versus displacement was calculated during loading-unloading sequence for different elastic modulus (E) and yield strength. Hardness and maximum principal compressive and tensile stresses were plotted for different elastic modulus depending on yield strength. The dentin was assumed to be isotropic, homogenous and elasto-ptastic. The theoretical results outlined in this study were compared with the experimental works reported in the literature and then hardness and yield strength of dentin was estimated. Numerical analysis for performance enhancement of thermoelectric generator modules by using CNT-water and hybrid Ag/MgO-water nanofluids
The aim of this study is to investigate the performance enhancement of thermoelectric generator module with different nanofluids. CNT-water nanofluid and Ag/MgO-water hybrid nanofluids are used in a 3D channel where thermoelectric generator modules are mounted. 3D coupled multi-physics simulations are performed by using Galerkin weighted residual finite element method. It was observed that the power output of the module enhances with the inclusion of nanoparticles. Configuration with hybrid nanofluid produces the highest output power. At Reynolds number of 500, increasing the solid volume faction from 0.005 to 0.2, the output power of the thermoelectric generator rises by about 5.84% and 9.30% for CNT-water and hybrid nanofluid. However, at Reynolds number of 1500, using CNT-water nanofluid becomes effective and the amount of increment will be 6.6%. Organizational Agility, Competitive Capabilities, and the Performance of Health Care Organizations During the Covid-19 Pandemic
Purpose: Managers of healthcare organizations must be much more dynamic and agile to survive in a competitive environment. Administrators, managers, and leaders in healthcare organizations must meet both patients' and staff's needs, expectations, and requests at the maximum level in order to create organizational agility. What counts among these responsibilities is the use of operational competitive capabilities at the highest level and being organizationally agile? In this context, this study determines the relationship between the operational competitive capabilities of healthcare organizations and organizational agility and examines the mediating role of organizational agility between operational competitive capabilities and organizational performance in healthcare organizations in Turkey. Methodology: The data was collected from the 220 managers of health organizations in Turkey through questionnaires, which were analyzed with the SPSS 26 and AMOS 26 programs. Results: The findings revealed a positive relationship between operational competitive capabilities of managers and between organizational agility and organizational agility, which have a full mediating role between operational competitive capabilities and organizational performance in healthcare organizations. Conclusion: Today's healthcare organizations' managers face such important problems and unexpected developments as adapting to a rapidly changing environment and struggles to avoid uncertainty. Therefore, the managers must use their operational competitive capabilities at the highest level and be organizationally agile to maximize their organizations' performance and survive in this highly competitive environment
Comparison of the effects of collagenase and extract of Centella asiatica in an experimental model of wound healing
In this study, we compared the effects of collagenase and Centella asiatica in the rat model. Twenty-seven female rats were divided into three groups, and two full-thickness wounds were made for each animal. Collagenase ointment was applied topically to Group I and C. asiatica ointment to Group II rats. In Group III, no treatment was applied. On the third day of treatment, wounds on the left side of three animals of each group were excised. On the fifth and eighth day of the treatments, the same procedure was performed for the remaining animals. Indirect immunohistochemical examination was performed to detect transforming growth factor beta (TGF)-beta, endothelial and inducible nitric oxide synthase (eNOS and iNOS), vascular endothelial growth factor, TGF-alpha, laminin, fibronectin, collagen I, and interleukin-1 beta. According to the measurements of the wound areas and wound healing periodo, collagenase was superior to the control group. Immunohistochemical examinations showed strong (+++) iNOS and TGF-beta immunoreactivities in C. asiatica group. eNOS immunoreactivity was moderate (++) in this group. For the collagenase group, iNOS, eNOS, and TGF-beta immunoreactivities were moderate (++). In the collagenase group, while TGF-beta and iNOS immunoreactivities were weaker, laminin and fibronectin reactivities were stronger than in C. asiatica and control groups. Collagenase was superior to C. asiatica according to the immunohistochemical findings. Collagenase ointment significantly improves the quality of wound healing and scar formation and is a more appropriate treatment choice than extract of C. asiatica in the early stages of the wound healing process

The Effect of Preoperative Oral Carbohydrate Solution Intake on Patient Comfort: A Randomized Controlled Study
Purpose: The study was conducted to investigate the effect of preoperative oral carbohydrate loading on the preoperative discomforts and postoperative complications of patients undergoing elective thyroidectomy. Design: A randomized controlled clinical trial. Methods: Ninety patients scheduled for thyroidectomy were divided into three groups: (1) those receiving a carbohydrate-rich drink (CHD), (2) those receiving an overnight 5% glucose intravenous infusion, and (3) those fasting from midnight. The preoperative discomforts and postoperative complications of patients were evaluated using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS). The patients' vital signs and blood glucose levels were measured perioperatively. Findings: In the preoperative assessment, hunger, thirst, mouth dryness, chill, and headache adjusted for age, gender, body mass index, and duration of the operation were all found to be significantly higher in the glucose and fasting groups than the CHD group (P < .01). In the postoperative period, the fasting group experienced more vomiting and pain compared with the CHD group (P < .05). A significant difference was found between the groups in terms of diastolic blood pressure and pulse rate in the preoperative and intraoperative periods (P < .05). Conclusions: The CHD treatment before thyroidectomy increases patient comfort by reducing preoperative discomfort (such as hunger, thirst, dry mouth, fatigue and headache) and early postoperative complications (vomiting and pain)
The Self-Esteem, Perceived Social Support and Hopelessness in Adolescents: The Structural Equation Modeling
In this study, a developed model to explain a causal relationship between adolescent's self-esteem, perceived social support and hopelessness is tested. The purpose of the study is to explore the relationship between self-esteem, perceived social support and hopelessness in adolescents. A total of 257 adolescents, including 143 female and 114 male, participated in attending different high schools in the Burdur city center. The Beck Hopelessness Scale, The Social Support Appraisals Scale for Children and Adolescents and The Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory were used to gather data. The Structural Equation Model/Lisrel/Path Diagram/Windows and SPSS were used to analyze the data. First, measurement models for each of the variables were explored. Then, computed variables were used in structural equation modeling that examined relationships among latent variables. The results of a Structural Equation Model Test was showed that fit compatibility indices of the model, produced a good compatibility and the coefficients obtained were significant. According to the result the structural model, the findings indicated that a causal relationship was between adolescent self-esteem, perceived social support and hopelessness. In this study, it was seen that the results obtained are of explanatory equation because the study is intended for establishing a new model rather than testing a previously existing model
Notes on the genera Paederidus Mulsant & Rey, 1878, Paederus Fabricius, 1775 and Uncopaederus Korge, 1969 from the Palearctic Region (Coleoptera: Staphylinidae: Paederinae)
The genera Paederidus Mulsant & Rey, 1878, Paederus Fabricius, 1775 and Uncopaederus Korge, 1969 comprise 117 species in the Palearctic Region. In the present study, new and additional distribution data for 16 species of the genera Paederidus, Paederus and Uncopaederus are reported from different countries of the Palearctic Region. The material examined was collected between 1884 and 2017; and contained types and additional specimens in European museums and Alasehir Zoological Museum. Among them, six species are the first country records: Albania (1), Bosnia Herzegovina (2), Israel (1), Kazakhstan (1), Macedonia (1), Montenegro (2), Morocco (1). In addition, Uncopaederus signiventris (Smetana, 1962) is illustrated. Two synonymies are proposed: Paederus littoralis Gravenhorst, 1802 = Paederus pelikani Reitter, 1884 syn. n., = Paederus littoralis ilsae Bernhauer, 1932 syn. n
