The meeting aimed to finalize the Provisional Terms of Reference for the Coron Fisheries Refugia Site-based Management Committee, Identify and agree on the species to be managed under the fisheries refugia site. Report of the Regional Consultative Meeting on Regional Action Plan for Management of Transboundary Species, Rastrelliger brachysoma in the Gulf of Thailand Sub-region
This report is under the SEAFDEC/UNEP/GEF Project on “Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand”The Regional Consultative Meeting on Regional Action Plan for Management of Transboundary Species, Rastrelliger brachysoma in the Gulf of Thailand Sub-region was conducted by the SEAFDEC-Sweden and SEAFDEC/UNEP/GEF Project on Establishment and Operation of Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand (Fishery Refugia) on 12 to 13 September 2019 at Chonburi Province. The meeting attended by 39 participants, including representatives from 6 member countries, officers from the SEAFDEC Secretariat and Training Department (TD), members of Regional Fisheries Policy Network (RFPN), experts from Sweden, and Burapha University, the Project Director and PCU staffs. Report of the Baseline Survey of Short Mackerel and Fish Larvae Collection in Koh Kong
This report is under the SEAFDEC/UNEP/GEF Project on “Establishment and Operation of a Regional System of Fisheries Refugia in the South China Sea and Gulf of Thailand”The Baseline Survey of Short Mackerel and Fish Larvae Collection was conducted by Fisheries Administration, at Koh Kong province on 16-21 December 2019. The survey aimed to monitor the development of short mackerel gonad, and to collect sampling fish larvae. The meeting attended by 7 participants, including leaders and officers from Department of Fisheries Conservation, officers from Fisheries Administration Cantonment in Koh Kong and student from university. Based on the survey, biological data of short mackerel are collected, the maturity stage are identified, GSI are calculated for further analysis.UNEP/GE
