The meeting aims to identify and discuss on the threats and issues in the site regarding fisheries resources and fishery management, discuss on data collection for fish landing site and the data for fish egg and larvae for confirmation of existing fish commodity in the area and draft management plan prior to the establishment of the Fisheries Refugia in Bolinao. Workshop to Review Available eCDT Technology Solutions and Advance Regional Guidance for Fisheries Traceability in the Coral Triangle Region
Get PDFWorkshop proceedings from USAID Oceans’ training workshops with the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security (CTI-CFF) in support of its member-countries seafood traceability initiatives in the Coral Triangle region. Held on June 24 and 27-28, 2019, in Dili, Timor Leste, the workshops bookended a two-day CTI-CFF event on “Catch Documentation and Traceability (CDT) System Design and Implementation based on Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM)” held in the same venue on June 25-26. USAID Oceans’ June 24 “pre-event” workshop was focused on assisting the Pacific countries in conducting rapid gap analyses to assess the state of their respective CDT capabilities for wild capture fisheries. The June 27-28 “post-event” workshop presented a range of electronic catch documentation and traceability (eCDT) technology solutions to meet needs identified in the previous sessions. USAID Oceans and its private sector technology and industry partners showcased their eCDT technologies. Finally, the program sought inputs from the CT6 on a draft regional eCDT guidance document that USAID Oceans and SEAFDEC are jointly developing for Southeast Asia. Both workshops, as well as CTI-CFF’s two day “main event,” were organized in partnership with the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat (RS) and the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center (SEAFDEC)

Report of the Baseline Survey of Short Mackerel and Fish Larvae Collection in Koh Kong

The survey aimed to monitor the development of short mackerel gonad, and to collect sampling fish larvae. The meeting attended by 7 participants, including leaders and officers from Department of Fisheries Conservation, officers from Fisheries Administration Cantonment in Koh Kong and student from university. Based on the survey, biological data of short mackerel are collected, the maturity stage are identified, GSI are calculated for further analysis.UNEP/GE
Partnership Appraisal and Prioritization Report: Malaysia
Get PDFIn 2018, USAID Oceans engaged with the government of Malaysia to conduct a Partnership Appraisal to identify high-value partnership opportunities, which is linked to a complementary CDT Gap Analysis Report. USAID Oceans’ Partnership Appraisals are conducted through a multi-step process, including desk research, field interviews, and participatory work sessions designed to uncover opportunities for public-private collaboration. USAID Oceans together closely to engage buyers, seafood companies, and organizations working on seafood traceability in Malaysia to conduct a Partnership Appraisal to identify interests, challenges, opportunities for collaboration, and to design an eCDT roadmap that supports eCDT system design and implementation. This report summarizes the main findings of the Malaysia Partnership Appraisal, as well as recommendations for next steps to develop partnerships that will support eCDT implementation. USAID Oceans’ research in Malaysia uncovered many opportunities to leverage current system strengths, as well as identified numerous technical, financial, economic, and psychological barriers that highlight the need to demonstrate the business case and added value of eCDT systems, for both government and the private sector. This Partnership Appraisal Report identifies recommended approaches to identify and engage with a range of key organizations, customized for Malaysia’s specific country systems and contexts

4) Appointment on the contact persons for each research topic category;
5) Agreement upon the information and data sharing schemes among participating countries and agencies;
6) Information on the human resource development program on samples and data analysis, and;
7) Discussion on other necessary matters in relation with the post-survey
