No full textการฝึกอบรมหลักสูตรระยะสั้นสำหรับนักศึกษามหาวิทยาลัย รุ่นที่ 65 หลักสูตร “การทำประมงอย่างเป็นมิตร เพื่อการจัดการทรัพยากรประมงที่ยั่งยืน” จัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 20–30 พฤษภาคม 2568 รวม 11 วัน ณ สำนักงานฝ่ายฝึกอบรม ศูนย์พัฒนาการประมงแห่งเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ มีนิสิตและนักศึกษาเข้าร่วมฝึกอบรม จำนวน 33 คน (ชาย 13 คน และหญิง 20 คน) จาก 9 สถาบันการศึกษาในประเทศไทยและญี่ปุ่น ได้แก่ 1.จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย 2.มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ 3.มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา 4.มหาวิทยาลัยบูรพา วิทยาเขตจันทบุรี 5.มหาวิทยาลัยแม่โจ้ 6.มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ 7.สถาบันเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าเจ้าคุณทหารลาดกระบัง 8.วิทยาลัยเกษตรและเทคโนโลยีเพชรบุรี และ 9.Hokkaido Universit
Report of Training on Digital Data Collection Using the Kobo Toolbox Platform
Full text linkSEAFDEC/TD conducted a "Training on Digital Data Collection using Kobo Toolbox" on 23–24 December 2024. The training aimed to enhance the skills of researchers from the Department of Fisheries (DOF), Thailand, and SEAFDEC/TD in creating, coding, and implementing surveys using Kobo Toolbox. A total of 31 participants (11 male, 20 female), The participants comprised 25 onsite representatives, namely, resource person from Michigan University, USA (1), DOF, Thailand (10); SEAFDEC/Secretariat (6); SEAFDEC/TD (8), while SEAFDEC/IFRDMD (6) staff joined via online platform. The objectives of this training were: 1) to provide participants with an understanding of survey design principles in social science research and mobile data collection for both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, 2) to enable participants to code and deploy survey forms using XLS forms and Kobo Toolbox, and 3) to facilitate hands-on experience with mobile data collection on Android devices through Kobo Collect

No full textชุมชนประมงขนาดเล็กในประเทศไทยต้องเผชิญกับความท้าทายจากการลดลงของทรัพยากรทางทะเลและการเปลี่ยนแปลงของระบบนิเวศ การจัดการประมงโดยแนวทางเชิงระบบนิเวศ (EAFM) และการจัดการร่วม (co-management) เป็นกรอบการทํางานที่สําคัญในการส่งเสริมการใช้ทรัพยากรทางทะเลอย่างยั่งยืน ควบคู่ไปกับการรักษาสมดุลระหว่างความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีของมนุษย์และความอุดมสมบูรณ์ของระบบนิเวศ ซึ่งแนวทาง EAFM ได้ถูกนําไปใช้ทั่วไปในหลายพื้นที่ทั่วโลก เพื่อส่งเสริมการจัดการแบบองค์รวม โดยเน้นการบริหารจัดการทั้งระบบนิเวศ ส่งเสริมความยั่งยืน และบูรณาการความต้องการทั้งทางด้านระบบนิเวศและมนุษย์ การศึกษานี้มุ่งประเมินประสิทธิภาพของ EAFM และการจัดการร่วมในชุมชนประมงขนาดเล็กบ้านหาดทรายขาว จังหวัดระนอง โดยมุ่งเน้นไปที่การดําเนินการหลัก 3 กิจกรรม ได้แก่ 1) การจัดตั้งธนาคารหมึกเพื่อเพิ่มปริมาณทรัพยากร, 2) การส่งเสริมการแปรรูปสัตว์น้ํา เพื่อความหลากหลายทางเศรษฐกิจ, และ 3) การปล่อยพันธุ์สัตว์น้ํา เพื่อฟื้นฟูระบบนิเวศ ผลการศึกษาพบว่า การเพิ่มการมีส่วนร่วมของชุมชนและการจัดการที่ปรับเปลี่ยนได้ตามสภาพพื้นที่และปัจจัยสิ่งแวดล้อม เป็นปัจจัยสําคัญที่ทําให้การดําเนินการเหล่านี้ประสบความสําเร็จ โดยมีการพัฒนาทั้งในด้านการอนุรักษ์ทรัพยากรทางทะเลและการส่งเสริมคุณภาพชีวิตของชุมชน การศึกษานี้เน้นย้ําถึงศักยภาพของการบูรณาการ EAFM และการจัดการร่วมในการบรรลุเป้าหมายการจัดการประมงอย่างยั่งยืน และสามารถเป็นแนวทางให้กับชุมชนประมงขนาดเล็กในบริเวณชายฝั่งอื่นๆ ที่เผชิญกับความท้าทายที่คล้ายกั

Report of Project End Meeting on Responsible Fishing Technology and Practice
No full textSoutheast Asia is one of the world’s most biologically diverse, economically productive, and potentially vulnerable marine zones. The fishery production in the region exhibited a continuously increasing trend in terms of volume from 2012 to 2016. Marine fisheries greatly contribute to high-quality seafood and create employment and income for the livelihood of the fisherfolks, specifically in marine capture fisheries. Presently, marine fisheries resources in the Southeast Asian region are heavily exploited. It is vital that marine resources must be harvested responsibly and sustainably, and future fisheries development is governed by the availability of sustainable fish stock. Indisputably, fishing activities can sometimes adversely impact marine environments through excessive removals of ecologically and economically valuable species, and by direct physical contact with critical habitats, e.g. bottom trawls. In addition, most of the capture methods used for fishing are heavily dependent on the utilization of fossil fuels or petroleum. For many important fisheries, the high consumption of fuel constitutes a major constraint to their economic viability but also represents a significant source of greenhouse gas emissions. In general, active fishing gear like trawls and dredges can greatly impact the environment, and more fuel is required than other passive fishing gear such as traps and hooks or other stationary fishing gear.
In line with the Resolution and Plan of Action on Sustainable Fisheries for Food Security for the ASEAN Region Towards 2030 and corresponding to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals 14 (Life Below Water: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources), SEAFDEC maintains its continuation in promoting the sustainable utilization and protection of marine and coastal fisheries resources and the ecosystems to avoid significant adverse impacts. The utilization of marine resources and environmentally friendly fishing gear and practices should be further developed and applied to maintain biodiversity and secure fish for the people as well as to improve ocean health and enhance the contribution of marine biodiversity to the development of the SEAFDEC Member Countries. Furthermore, taking into consideration, the efforts to prevent and significantly reduce marine debris will be exerted.
The program of activities under this project will be implemented based on the current situation on the environmental impact of fishing gear and practices in the Southeast Asian region and national activities to mitigate those impacts on the marine ecosystem. The program of activities also includes research studies and the application and modification of marine engineering technologies to enhance the capability of fuel consumption efficiency and safety in fishing operations, reducing the emission of greenhouse gases, and enhancing the safety at sea in fishing operations. Regional technical consultations and meetings along with the field practices will be periodically conducted to update the situation, share experiences, and monitor the project implementation with the Member Countries. Network establishment towards national initiatives to improve/apply fishing technologies to support fisheries' management will also be made. The project will be implemented by SEAFDEC/TD in collaboration with responsible national agencies of the Member Countries, relevant organizations, institutions, and other international partnerships (e.g. FAO, UN Environment, GEF, etc.) at both regional and national levels.
