Après son master professionnel Expertise et intervention en sciences sociales, elle a été responsable du service d’action sanitaire et sociale d’une mutualité sociale agricole (MSA), dans laquelle elle est intervenue notamment auprès des agriculteurs en souffrance. Elle travaille désormais en tant que responsable de services aux partenaires au sein de la CAF de la Haute-Vienne où elle met en œuvre des actions de développement social et territorial. Nonlinear optical properties of glassy TeO<sub>2</sub>: ab initio modeling of χ<sup>(3)</sup> and Hyper Raman spectra
No full textInternational audienceThe nonlinear optical properties of amorphous tellurium oxide is studied in a framework of computational technique based on the ab initio quantum-chemical calculations. The calculated values of refractive index and third-order nonlinear susceptibility are in a very good agreement with experimental data. The origin of the high nonlinear properties of TeO2 is attributed, in general, to the hyperpolarizability of Te atoms electron lone pairs and to the hyperpolarizability of electronic density localized on bonds of the asymmetric Te-O-Te bridges in part. The computational technique is extended on Hyper Raman spectroscopy including scattering on longitudinal modes. The spectra were calculated for both crystalline and glassy TeO2 with a very good reproduction of experimental data. An extra bands inactive in classical Raman spectroscopy are studied using this approach. The most intense high-frequency band in the spectra of paratellurite is attributed to anti-symmetric stretching of long-short bonds in TeO4 disphenoid with A2 symmetry. The influence of the structural unit configuration on the band position in Hyper Raman spectra is established. The best agreement between calculated phonon spectrum and experimental data is obtained using hybrid functional approach, which explains the strong correlation on valence electron states of Te atoms. The strong dependence of LO modes intensity in Hyper Raman spectra on third order nonlinear susceptibility is obtained and explained. The reported technique can be easily extended on a big family of binary and ternary compounds
"Mary de Cork" : une aventure au féminin en clair-obscur dans la nouvelle de Joseph Kessel (1924) et l'adaptation cinématographique de Maurice Cazeneuve (1967)
No full textInternational audienceThis article focuses on J. Kessel's short story Mary of Cork (1925) and M. Cazeneuve's film adaptation (1967), set during the Irish Civil War (1922-23). It is the perspective of two Frenchmen on the post-independence period and the role that women played in it. The country was torn apart, and everyone threw themselves body and soul into the adventure, blindly. The two works show us a dichotomous approach to the country: two camps clash, two places are opposed - the city and the countryside, the public place of the pub and the intimate sphere of the home. Mary and her husband embody Valera and Collins’ opposing camps and thus what Kessel calls "the inexpiable Irish discordance". Mary, the eponymous character, undergoes constant metamorphosis over the pages and sequences, appearing in turn as warrior, rebel, rogue mother, vampiric figure or new pietà. This family, political and historical tragedy is also a pictorial and intertextual rewriting. Through framing and chiaroscuro effects, Kessel and Cazeneuve make us hear and see Mary's Irishness by reinventing Irish myths such as those involving female metamorphosis and swans, before transcending and transforming Mary into a a new allegory of the homeland, a new Ériu/murderous Virgin through the final scene.This chapter (Part II "Adventure in War", chapter 7, pp. 151-173) is part of a collection which examines the role that adventure has played and continues to play in French and Irish society and culture in areas as diverse as literature, theatre, war journalism, painting, photography, sport and diplomatic dining. The three types of adventure as defined by the French philosopher Vladimir Jankélévitch are reflected in the various essays. Mortal adventure can be found in the chapters on war journalism and painting, sport and in the pioneer work of the first women photographers and reporters. Aesthetic adventure is depicted in the chapters on the work of Joseph Kessel, Colm Tóibín, Colum McCann, Jan Carson, Anna Burns, Paddy Bushe, John McGahern, Gustave Flaubert and Brian Friel, who have all developed innovative and challenging styles in their attempts to depict aspects of the human condition. Finally, Love adventure is a strong leitmotif in several essays also.Cet article explore la nouvelle Mary of Cork de J. Kessel (1925) et l’adaptation cinématographique de M. Cazeneuve (1967) qui se déroulent au temps de la guerre civile irlandaise (1922-23). Il s’agit de la perspective de deux Français sur l’après indépendance et le rôle que les femmes ont pu y jouer. Le pays est déchiré, chacun se jette corps et âme dans l’aventure aveuglement. Entre effets de cadrage et de clair-obscur, Kessel et Cazeneuve nous font entendre et voir l’irlandité de Mary, en réinventant de manière indirecte des mythes irlandais comme ceux en lien avec les métamorphoses féminines et les cygnes, avant de transcender et transformer Mary en une nouvelle allégorie de la terre patrie : une nouvelle Ériu/Madone sombre et meurtrière via la scène finale

Transferability of European-derived Alzheimer’s disease polygenic risk scores across multiancestry populations
No full textInternational audienceA polygenic score (PGS) for Alzheimer’s disease (AD) was derived recently from data on genome-wide significant loci in European ancestry populations. We applied this PGS to populations in 17 European countries and observed a consistent association with the AD risk, age at onset and cerebrospinal fluid levels of AD biomarkers, independently of apolipoprotein E locus (APOE). This PGS was also associated with the AD risk in many other populations of diverse ancestries. A cross-ancestry polygenic risk score improved the association with the AD risk in most of the multiancestry populations tested when the APOE region was included. Finally, we found that the PGS/polygenic risk score captured AD-specific information because the association weakened as the diagnosis was broadened. In conclusion, a simple PGS captures the AD-specific genetic information that is common to populations of different ancestries, although studies of more diverse populations are still needed to better characterize the genetics of AD

No full textInternational audienceThis article analyzes Peter Tosh’s 1977 song African through the lens of postcolonial subjectivity, exploring how it reconfigures African diasporic identity via musical, poetic, and political strategies. Drawing on theoretical models that combine an “external gaze” (historical memory, collective trauma, political resistance) with an “internal gaze” (emotional, spiritual, and affective reconstruction), the study demonstrates how African transforms reggae roots into a medium of cultural and psychic liberation. The song’s circular form, rhythmic repetition, and incantatory lyrics are shown to serve as performative tools of identity affirmation, proposing Africa not as a physical return but as a spiritual state. Through a combination of affective pedagogy and sonic invocation, Tosh offers a symbolic homeland to Afro-descendants, crafting an alternative space for dignity, unity, and transnational memory. This performance of belonging resists colonial dislocation and articulates a new postcolonial grammar of the self
