International audienceIntroduction Preventing loss of autonomy has become a public health issue due to the increase in healthcare costs associated with ageing. It has become even more pressing with the arrival of the baby-boomer generation. This has given rise to several initiatives. This is the background to the VIVADOM project. The project provides a complete kit for older adults aged 60 years and over living at home. First, the kit includes a technological package (telecare, light path and digital tablet). Then, these older adults benefit from personalised human support provided by postal workers trained in gerontology. The aim of this study will be to carry out a health economic assessment (HEA) of the VIVADOM project as part of the prevention of frailty and/or dependency (by comparing beneficiaries of the complete kit with non-beneficiaries). The comparator will be the fact of not benefiting from the complete kit. In addition, the efficiency of the project in preventing falls and cognitive problems will be studied. We will calculate three incremental cost-effectiveness ratios (ICER) for these three issues. Methods and analysis The economic model used will be the Markov model. Transition probabilities, average costs and average quality-adjusted life year (QALY) will be calculated for the two groups being compared. The ICER will be obtained by dividing the difference in average costs by the difference in average QALYs. Finally, ICERs will be compared with willingness-to-pay (WTP) to assess the efficiency of the system. Thus, the VIVADOM project will be efficient when these ICERs are lower than the WTP. Univariate and probabilistic sensitivity analysis will be carried out to ensure the robustness of the analysis results. Ethics and dissemination The HEA of the VIVADOM project has been approved by the research unit of the University of Limoges in France. The results will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and presented at relevant national and international conferences

High-pressure, high-temperature phase equilibria with superhard boron-rich compounds of B-C-N-O and B-C-b–Si systems by in situ X-ray diffraction and CALPHAD methodology

International audienceBoron-rich compounds within the B-C-N-O and B-C-Si systems exhibit exceptional functional properties, making them highly attractive for industrial applications such as those requiring superhardness, nuclear technologies, or thermoelectricity. This review summarizes recent experimental and theoretical advances on high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) phase equilibria up to 20 GPa and 3000 K, focusing on boron carbide (B 4 C), boron suboxide (B 6 O), boron subnitride (B 13 N 2 ), boron silicides and some of their solid solutions. Emphasis is placed on in situ x-ray diffraction (XRD), density functional theory (DFT) calculations and CALPHAD thermodynamic modeling. Despite recent progress, significant methodological challenges remain, requiring enhanced experimental accuracy and refined theoretical approaches. Future work should address these gaps to fully leverage the potential of these superhard materials

Multiscale approach for designing Pr2Nio4+δ-based open cell foams with prescribed radiative properties up to 1,000°c

International audienceCarried up to T = 1,000°C, praseodymium nickelate in its single-crystal state, exhibit a high normal spectral emissivity, making it very interesting for the design of efficient hightemperature energy conversion systems. This intrinsic feature is linked to electron-phonon coupling, which creates a broad absorption band ranging from the far infrared up to the visible spectrum. In this proceeding, we will focus on the numerical design of 96 praseodymium nickelate-based open-cell foams with prescribed textural features (porosity going from 0.35 up to 0.95, nominal pore diameter going from 0.5 up to 2.5 mm) and the determination of their key effective thermal radiative properties (extinction coefficient, normal spectral emittance,) by using advanced Ray Tracing methods. A multiscale approach is used to cumulate the main absorption mechanisms. The effect of the textural features of the foams at T = 1,000°C on their effective radiative properties will be finally discussed

Conducting transformative research protocols in sports science

International audienceThis article presents a methodology for “fundamental field research” in sports science, from a transdisciplinary and transformative perspective. It is based on a close and symmetrical partnership between researchers and practitioners. The approach is structured around four detailed and illustrated methodological stages: (1) researchers develop an auxiliary hypothesis derived from a stabilized theoretical framework; (2) practitioners and researchers co-design an experimental training set-up that puts this hypothesis to the test; (3) this set-up, designed to disrupt ordinary professional practices, is implemented and analyzed; (4) the set-up's spin-offs are identified, both scientifically for the researchers and p rofessionally for the practitioners. This methodology creates a consubstantial relationship between scientific and professional aims, encourages co-production of knowledge, and questions the relationship with sustainability in a field where the demand for immediate performance tends to curb experimental dynamics

International audienceLE MOUVEMENT DU CHAOS.
