THE IMPLEMENTATION CONTENT AND LANGUAGE INTEGRATED LEARNING (CLIL) IN SPEAKING CLASSES AT UIN SAYYID ALI RAHMATULLAH TULUNGAGUNG
Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is increasingly regarded as an effective approach in fostering both language and content knowledge simultaneously. While numerous studies emphasize its application in various educational contexts, there remains a significant gap concerning its implementation in higher education, particularly in speaking classes. This qualitative study investigates the implementation of CLIL in 5 speaking classes at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, with particular attention to pedagogical practices, challenges, and learners’ perceptions. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The results indicate that although CLIL enriches communicative competence, various challenges such as limited material, teacher preparedness, and student readiness persist. The findings offer insights into improving speaking instruction and enhancing the integration of content and language in tertiary education.

A HOMILETICAL INTERPRETATION BY REYNOLDS OF THE NARRATIVES OF PROPHET IBRAHIM AND AYUB
This study will examine the verses of the story using the intertextuality approach is a necessity to see the extent to which the Qur'an communicates with its audience in an effort to produce the religious message it wants to convey. This study is a literature study, whose data source is through verses of the Qur'an and Bible that specifically discuss the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Job. Then the verses are analyzed using Reynolds' intertextuality approach, namely the concept of homiletics which is then described as a result of the connection between the two. The results of this study conclude that the intertextuality side in the narrative of the Qur'an and Bibel about the story of Prophet Ibrahim both allude to a figure who has debated Prophet Ibrahim. The figure questioned and doubted the power of God from Prophet Ibrahim. Whereas in the story of Prophet Job in the narration of the Qur'an and the Bible have editorials that look similar between the two. But in substance, between the two there are differences in the model of delivering the message
Eclecticism and Non-Systematic Approaches in the Transformation of Indonesian Islamic Marriage Law
This article analyzes the transformation of Islamic marriage law in Indonesia by highlighting the characteristics of legal eclecticism and the non-systematic approach in its formation and implementation. The study employs a socio-normative approach, which views law as a normative system and a social reality within Indonesian society. Data were obtained from primary legal materials such as the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI) and Law on Marriage, as well as secondary materials including scholarly research and contemporary literature on Islamic law. The findings reveal that Islamic marriage law in Indonesia is eclectic, combining various fiqh traditions with principles of modern national law. This is evident in the regulation of marriage guardianship (wali) that merges Syafi'i and Hanafi views, child custody (hadhanah) that balances parental rights, and the regulation of polygamy and divorce through the courts, which integrates classical fiqh norms with modern notions of justice. Meanwhile, the practice of religious courts demonstrates a non-systematic approach, as judges interpret the law contextually by referring to other statutes such as the Child Protection Law, Law on Human Rights, and the Law on the Elimination of Domestic Violence. This cross-system approach illustrates that Indonesian Islamic law is open, adaptive, and progressive, capable of bridging religious values, national law, and social justice

The Role of AI, Filter Bubbles, and Echo Chambers in Political and Religious Polarization on Social Media
This research is motivated by the existence of AI, filter bubbles, and echo chambers, which narrow the scope of interaction and isolate users from diverse perspectives. In Indonesia, politicians often use religion as a political tool, which further exacerbates the situation. This research aims to understand how the interaction between AI, filter bubbles, and echo chambers impacts political and religious polarization on social media. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature review method that analyzed relevant journal articles. The results indicate that political and religious polarization occurs when society is divided into groups with increasingly divergent views and values, thereby exacerbating social tensions and widening the gap between these groups. AI makes extreme political content more likely to be shared than moderate information. Filter bubbles limit exposure to differing views and reinforce confirmation bias. The echo chamber exacerbates polarization by encouraging individuals to interact only with those who share their beliefs. Individuals or groups vulnerable to polarization are those who have difficulty accepting new information, only consume content that aligns with their beliefs, perceive other groups as being unobjective or biased, and have low digital awareness and literacy. The principle of Islamic brotherhood can help mitigate political and religious polarization by teaching the importance of mutual respect for differences and maintaining harmony among Muslims

A CARBON TAX IN INDONESIA : CONCEPT, OBJECTIVES AND CHALLENGES
Indonesia is among the world's ten largest emitters, as carbon emissions from fossil fuels are the primary cause of climate change. Law No. 7 of 2021 concerning Harmonization of Tax Regulations establishes a carbon tax as a policy instrument to internalize external emission costs and encourage a shift to renewable energy. It also helps meet Paris Agreement commitments. This study investigates the concept, objectives, and challenges associated with implementing a carbon tax as part of the national plan to achieve net-zero emissions (NZE) by 2060. This study uses qualitative descriptive analysis by analyzing secondary data from laws and regulations, government ministry websites, and national and international research journals. The study shows that Indonesia uses a combined cap-and-tax approach, which combines a carbon tax and a carbon market mechanism. Although the carbon tax has clear environmental and fiscal objectives, its implementation faces institutional, technical, political, and economic challenges, including policy coordination, stakeholder readiness, and potential impacts on businesses and low-income households. To ensure that emission reductions are effective without disrupting economic stability, this study found that carbon tax policies require a comprehensive, fair and aligned design with the national economic structure
A Literature Review : The Role of Corporate Boards in Enhancing Banks' Financial Performance
This study explores the role of corporate boards in enhancing banks' financial performance by examining various board characteristics such as size, gender diversity, institutional ownership, board independence, audit committee structure, and financial expertise quality. It is a qualitative study that employs a literature review method that involves identifying, selecting, and synthesizing relevant journal articles to understand the key characteristics and impacts of corporate boards. The data consist of journal articles related to corporate boards, sourced from both Indonesian and international reputable journals. These articles were selected based on their relevance to the research topic. The literature review reveals that effective boards significantly contribute to improving bank profitability, primarily through tighter oversight, optimal risk management, and well-informed strategic decision-making. Gender diversity on boards also proves to enhance transparency and corporate governance, while the duality of CEO and Board Chair roles may reduce oversight effectiveness. Besides internal factors, the findings emphasize the importance of managing external risks, such as political and economic instability, to sustain bank performance. This study offers important implications for bank management and regulators to strengthen corporate governance by establishing competent and diverse boards to drive sustainable and stable financial performance in the banking sector
