IN THE REGION OF 2014: THE DEPICTION OF THE INDONESIAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION IN THE POLITICAL CARTOONS
Cartoons have long been recognized as a highly effective means of conveying social and political messages in political communication. This paper presents a critical discourse analysis (CDA) of the intricate portrayal of the 2014 Indonesian presidential election in cartoons, using qualitative methods to unravel the underlying themes and narratives. The study aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the multifaceted dimensions of this significant electoral event, shedding light on the nuanced perspectives and representations presented in the selected cartoons. A qualitative approach analyzed a diverse collection of political cartoons from reputable Indonesian newspaper and online media outlet, i.e., Kontan.id, during the period leading up to the 2014 presidential election. The CDA framework employed in this research allows for an in-depth examination of the visual and textual elements, unraveling the symbolic meanings, metaphors, and ideological underpinnings that shape the cartoons’ overarching messages. The study reveals how these political cartoons function as a complex form of visual rhetoric, reflecting the artists’ perspectives and the broader social and political climate surrounding the electoral process. The findings expose the dominant themes and recurring symbols used in the cartoons to portray the candidates, their policies, and the broader political landscape. The research examines the potential influence of these cartoons in shaping public opinion and political discourse during this crucial election period. The outcomes of this research offer valuable insights into the dynamics of political communication in Indonesia and shed light on the interplay between media, politics, and public opinion. By illuminating the portrayal of the 2014 Indonesian Presidential Election through the lens of political cartoons, this study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of visual media in shaping political discourse and public perceptions during electoral campaigns. The implications of this research extend beyond the specific case of Indonesia, providing a framework for investigating the use of political cartoons in other electoral contexts worldwide
SHEIKH IBRAHIM MUSA PARABEK’S THOUGHTS ON TASHYID AND TAWASSUL IN HIDĀYAH AL-ṢIBYĀN
The global reform of Islamic thought had impact of dividing the Minangkabau ulamas (Muslim scholars) into both “kaum tuo” as a traditionalist and “kaum mudo” as a modernist. Even today, the history of Minangkabau ulamas cannot be separated from this category. Ibrahim Musa is one of the ulamas who had unique position because of his affiliation to some groups. He also was recognized as “kaum mudo” due to his involvement in their movement. At the same time, other historical records showed his engagement with “kaum tuo.” His ambiguities in siding among Minangkabau ulamas are worth-investigating. This article seeks to analyze Ibrahim Musa’s thoughts based on his kitab, Hidāyah al-Ṣibyān. It argues that Ibrahim Musa did not clearly state his stance, except providing two views. Further, he was trying to explain their interpretations which proved that in the history of Islam in Minangkabau there are ulamas who cannot simply categorized as traditionalist or modernist due to the complexity of their thoughts of Islam. In this respect, the study of non-mainstream ulama figures like Ibrahim Musa is scholarly pivotal to construct the historiography of Minangkabau ulama as a whole
CREATING A CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN THE COAL MINING INDUSTRY THROUGH CSR INITIATIVES: A CASE STUDY
Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi dampak dari Program Eco Agrotomation dalam menciptakan ekonomi sirkular pada PT Bukit Asam Tbk, sebuah Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) di sektor pertambangan batu bara. Metode penelitian ini melibatkan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif, dengan desain penelitian studi kasus pada program Eco Agrotomation yang dilaksanakan oleh PT Bukit Asam Tbk. Data tersebut mencakup evaluasi dampak ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan dari program tersebut, baik dari perspektif perusahaan maupun masyarakat lokal yang terlibat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Program Eco Agrotomation telah berhasil menciptakan ekonomi sirkular bagi PT Bukit Asam Tbk melalui empat cara: (1) manajemen limbah yang berkelanjutan, (2) penggunaan sumber daya yang efisien, (3) kolaborasi dan pengembangan sistem, dan (4) pemberdayaan masyarakat. Implementasi sistem otomasi berhasil meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air hingga 30%, dengan penggunaan air yang dapat diturunkan dari 238.680 liter per tahun menjadi 183.600 liter per tahun. Selain itu, pemanfaatan air asam tambang dan limbah belt conveyor mampu mengurangi water footprint dan limbah karet pertambangan masing-masing 90.000 liter dan 200 kg per tahun. Di sisi lain, penggunaan Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) mampu menghasilkan listrik sebesar 10.08 kWh per hari, yang setara dengan penghematan biaya listrik sebesar Rp 5.080.320 per tahun. Berkat inisiatif ini, Anggota kelompok rentan mengalami peningkatan pendapatan hingga mencapai Rp 3.500.000 per bulan, setara dengan Upah Minimum Regional. Meskipun demikian, kurangnya integrasi daur ulang produk akhir batubara dalam program ini menjadi potensi yang dapat kembangkan untuk menciptakan lingkaran ekonomi yang lebih luas dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract: This study aims to investigate the impacts of the Eco Agrotomation Program in creating a circular economy at PT Bukit Asam Tbk, a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) in the coal mining sector. The research methodology involves qualitative and quantitative analysis obtained from a case study of the Eco Agrotomation program implemented by PT Bukit Asam Tbk. The data encompass evaluations of the economic, social, and environmental impacts of the program, from both the company's and the local community's perspectives. The findings indicate that the Eco Agrotomation Program has successfully created a circular economy for PT Bukit Asam Tbk through four means: (1) sustainable waste management, (2) efficient resource utilization, (3) collaboration and system development, and (4) community empowerment. The implementation of automation systems has increased water usage efficiency by 30%, reducing water consumption from 238,680 liters per year to 183,600 liters per year. Moreover, the utilization of mine acid water and conveyor belt waste has reduced water footprint and mining rubber waste by 90,000 liters and 200 kg per year, respectively. On the other hand, the use of Solar Power Plants (PLTS) has generated electricity of 10.08 kWh per day, equivalent to cost savings of Rp 5,080,320 per year. These initiatives have increased incomes of vulnerable community up to Rp 3,500,000 per month, equivalent to the Regional Minimum Wage. However, the lack of integration of coal end-product recycling in this program presents potential for further development to create a broader and more sustainable economic cycle.

Kritik Ibn Hajar Terhadap ‘Ikrimah Perawi Khawarij Dalam Sahih Al-Bukhari
Kelompok-kelompok yang memiliki sekte aneh dan unik selalu menjadi sasaran kajian penting dalam kajian keislaman, terutama dalam ilmu hadis. Ulama memberikan identitas kepada kelompok-kelompok ini sebagai ahl al-ahwa wa al-bida’ (orang yang mengikuti hawa nafsunya dan membuat sesuatu yang baru dalam perkara agama). Salah satu periwayat adalah ‘Ikrimah Maula ibn ‘Abbas, yang termasuk dalam kelompok Khawarij, dan hadisnya termaktub dalam kitab Sahih al-Bukhari, sebuah kitab yang sangat terkenal atas keautentikannya. Oleh karena itu, sangat penting untuk mengkaji hal ini dengan tujuan untuk memahami apa dan bagaimana priwayat ahl bid’ah dapat diterima hadisnya. Selain itu, perlu juga untuk melihat tanggapan Ibn Hajar terhadap periwayat ‘Ikrimah ini. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian kepustakaan atau (library research). Sumber datanya adalah karya-karya Ibn Hajar. Dengan melalui serangkaian masalah dan metode yang digunakan, menghasilkan kesimpulan bahwa; ada tiga tuduhan yang dipaparkan oleh Ibn Hajar pertama, dituduh berbohong, kedua dituduh berpaham khawarij, ketiga dituduh suka memina-minta, kesemuanya merupakan tuduhan yang tidak ada bukti
Relevansi Semiotika Dan Uṣhūl Fiqh: Telaah Atas Hadis-Hadis Aḥkām
Abstract
The integration of semiotics as a modern analytical tool into the classical Islamic sciences is often limited to the discourse of ‘ulūm al-Qur'ān and ’ulūm al-hadīs. The themes discussed are only dominated by ethical discussions. However, uṣhūl fiqh plays an important role in analysing naṣ that relate to the jurisprudential-practical dimension. This article is a literature review that seeks to explore the relevance between Ferdinand de Saussure's semiotics and classical uṣhūl fiqh theory. The focus is on examining hadīths that contain legal-formal laws (hadīś ahkām). The question in this study is how the relevance between the two and how semiotics is implemented as a basis for the production of fiqh law (istinbāt al-ahkām). The main argument is that contemporary scientific paradigms do not necessarily contradict classical Islamic knowledge. However, differences in terminology and function are often considered as a gap between the two poles. The relevance of both appears especially in the concept of sign systems. This can be seen in how the uṣhūlīs assign new sign systems such as amr meaning obligatory and nahy meaning forbidden to naṣṣ. Integrating semiotics into uṣhūl fiqh will provide a new nuance in the treasury of Islamic knowledge.

Abstrak
Usaha mengintegrasikan semiotika sebagai pisau analisis modern ke dalam khazanah ilmu keislaman klasik kerap kali hanya berkutat pada diskursus ‘ulūm al-Qur’ān dan ‘ulūm al-hadīs. Tema yang dibicarakan pun hanya didominasi diskusi tataran dalam etis. Padahal selain keduanya, terdapat pula uṣhūl fiqh yang berperan penting dalam menganalisa naṣṣ yang berkaitan dengan dimensi yurisprudis–praksis. Artikel ini adalah kajian pustaka yang berusaha menelusuri relevansi antara semiotika Ferdinand de Saussure dengan teori uṣhūl fiqh klasik. Fokusnya adalah meneliti hadis-hadis yang bermuatan hukum legal-formal (hadīś ahkām). Pertanyaan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana relevansi antara keduanya dan bagaimana semiotika diimplementasikan sebagai basis produksi hukum fikih (istinbāt al-ahkām). Argumen utamanya adalah bahwa tidak selamanya paradigma keilmuan kontemporer bertentangan dengan khazanah ilmu keislaman klasik. Hanya saja, perbedaan terminologi dan fungsi kerap kali dianggap sebagai jurang pemisah antara dua kutub tersebut. Relevansi keduanya nampak terutama dalam konsep sistem tanda. Hal ini bisa dilihat dari bagaimana para uṣhūlī memberikan sistem tanda baru seperti amr bermakna wajib dan nahy bermakna haram ke dalam naṣṣ. Wahdah Al-Adyan Perspektif Filsafat Perenial Dan Tasawuf
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi keberagaman agama manusia yang menjadi fenomena yang niscaya yang sering kali mendatangkan tantangan berupa konflik dan perpecahan antar umat beragama. Untuk menghindari perpecahan dibutuhkan gagasan mengenai titik temu agama-agama yang dalam hal ini sering disebut Wahdah Al-Adyan. Wahdah Al-Adyan adalah konsep mengenai persatuan agama yang dalam filsafat dibahas dalam filsafat perennial dan dalam ilmu keislaman dibahas dalam tasawuf. Melalui kacamata tasawuf dan filsafat, penulis berusaha menguraikan konsep Wahdah Al-Adyan yang kemudian penulis membuat penelitian dengan judul “Wahdah Al-Adyan Perspektif Filsafat Perenial dan Tasawuf” yang membahas pengertian filsafat perenial dan tasawuf, pengertian Wahdah Al-Wujud, dan konsep Wahdah Al-Wujud perspektif filsafat perenial dan tasawuf. Hasil dari penelitian ditemukan bahwa filsafat perenial dan tasawuf sepakat bahwa kesatuan agama atau titik temu agama terletak pada sisi esoterik agama yang sama-sama bertujuan menuju, menyembah, dan mengabdi kepada Tuhan. Perbedaan dalam agama hanya terletak pada kulit luar atau sisi eksoterik agama. Wahdah Al-Adyan bertujuan untuk mengembangkan sikap toleran, saling menghargai, dan saling menghormati antar pemeluk agama. Bukan bertujuan menyatukan agama atau membenarkan semua agama yang ada tanpa pandang bulu. Wahdah Al-Adyan memandang sebuah agama benar adalah agama yang sesuai dengan perintah penciptaan dan perintah kewajiban yang merupakan wahyu dari Tuhan yang disampaikan oleh para Nabi yang menjamin keselamatan dan kebahagiaan para pemeluknya
PENERAPAN AKAD SALAM DAN ISTISHNA’ DALAM PERNIAGAAN KONTEMPORER DITINJAU DARI AYAT DAN HADIS AHKAM
This paper aims to analyze the application of the salam and istishna’ contracts in contemporary business in terms of the ahkam verses and hadith. This research uses a literature method with a normative juridical approach, examining theories, concepts and regulations related to the salam and istishna’ contracts. The Data were collected from documents from sharia financial institutions and literature on greetings and istishna’, the Al-Qur'an, hadith and were analyzed using content analysis. The findings of the research show that the implementation of the salam and istishna’ contracts in sharia financial institutions as a contemporary business subject is in accordance with the provisions of the Qur'an Al-Baqarah verse 282. Moreovet, it has been carried out with a written agreement, recorded by an authorized official, namely a notary and carried out in the presence of two witnesses, in accordance with QS. An-Nisa verse 29. Another reason is that it does not contain elements of falsehood and is in accordance with the Hadith of the History of Ibnu Majah Number2185 and it applies the principle of like and like
KHILAFAH DALAM PEMIKIRAN KH AHMAD BAHAUDDIN NURSALIM
This article explains the views of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim on “the khilafah” as prescribed in Surat An-Nur verse 55. The method used in this research is a qualitative research with a content analysis approach and using al-Ghazali's philosophy for analysing. This research analyzes the explanation of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim about the khilafah as presented in the video containing his study of the Book of Tafsir Jalalain. It was found in You Tube account entitled “Ngaji Gus Baha Jogja” with the theme “Makna Khilafah” in a video that lasts 1 hour, 25 minutes, and 35 seconds. This research found that KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim believes that the promise of Allah about the realization of Islamic khilafah for the believers is likely to be realized in the future, not today. Hence, he advised those who had knowledge to be patient and not to fail in interpreting the verses of the Qur'an. Khilafah, for the time being, cannot be applied in Indonesia because of its highly multi-religious and multicultural demographic conditions. If the khilafah is applied, there is potential chaos that threatens the sovereignty of the country. The view of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim is a moderate one in the very harsh rejection of khilafah and not out of the original meaning of the text of Surat an-Nur verse 55. If reviewed from the theory of division categories of maslahat according to al-Ghazali in understanding the text about this khilafah, the view of KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim that “khilafah is irrelevant for today's time” can be categorized as maslahat dzaruriyat; otherwise, then there will raise chaos. For further research, the author suggests that the view of Khilafah by KH Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim can be compared with the views of other moderate scholars
Implementation of Prophetic Values in Educational Institutions in Improving the Morality of Students in the Era of Digitalization
Nilai profetik merupakan nilai yang dapat dijadikan pijakan dalam segala aktivitas seluruh umat manusia, khususnya dalam dunia pendidikan. Oleh karena itu penanaman nilai-nilai kenabian pada peserta didik di lembaga pendidikan Islam merupakan suatu keniscayaan di era sekarang (era digital), era sekarang menjadi tantangan bagi generasi muda khususnya peserta didik yang masih aktif belajar, dimana pemanfaatan media online sangat masif dan aktif, sehingga perlu ditanamkan nilai-nilai kenabian agar perilaku dan akhlaknya sesuai dengan nilai-nilai yang diajarkan di lembaga pendidikan. Berdasarkan hal tersebut di atas, penelitian ini menghasilkan pembiasaan nilai-nilai kenabian baik MTs Salafiyah Syafi'iyah Tebuireng maupun MTsN 4 Jombang yaitu akhlaqul karimah, keta'dhiman, ketawadhuan, olah pikir dan integritas serta nilai pesantren sebagai nilai sentral. Sedangkan implementasi nilai-nilai kenabian dilakukan melalui berbagai kegiatan pembinaan, pengajaran, furudhul ainiyah, diniyah, dan gerakan ekstrakurikuler sebagai bentuk penanaman nilai-nilai kenabian pada peserta didik serta implikasi pembiasaan dan implementasinya dapat menumbuhkan sikap dan perilaku yang selalu menjunjung tinggi nilai moral siswa di era digitalisasi ini, sikap dan perilaku dapat ditunjukkan oleh siswa baik itu sendiri, pergaulan maupun penggunaan media online
Implementation of the Tahfizh Al-Qur’an Program in Shaping the Spiritual Intelligence of Student at MBS Zam-Zam Junior High School, Banyumas
This study on the implementation of the Tahfizh Al-Qur’an program in enhancing spiritual intelligence was conducted to obtain insights into how this program is applied at Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Zam-Zam Banyumas Junior High School to foster the spiritual intelligence of its students. The aim of the research is to describe the implementation of the Tahfizh Al-Qur’an program in enhancing the spiritual intelligence of students at MBS Zam-Zam Banyumas Junior High School, focusing specifically on the program’s concept, implementation, and impact. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with field research methods. Data analysis was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Tahfizh Al-Qur’an program positively impacts students’ spiritual development at MBS Zam-Zam Banyuma Junior High School, evidenced by their respectful speech and conduct, care for others and the environment, and performing acts of worship independently. Thus, memorizing the Qur’an strengthens students' spirituality, faith, and piety toward Allah Swt., as reflected in their daily behavior
