    Get PDF
This research is motivated by the rise of violence committed in the name of religion, both in the real world and online. Such violence is driven by a misinterpretation of Qur'anic texts and certain ideologies that reject diversity. The main focus of this study is to explore the meaning and contextualization of the values of Islam rahmataān lil ‘alamīn as found in the Qur’an, using Abdullah Saeed’s contextual interpretation approach. This research employs a qualitative library-based method with descriptive and deductive analysis. The findings reveal that Islam rahmataān lil ‘alamīn encompasses values of compassion, justice, brotherhood, and noble character. The contextualization of these values in the modern era includes: (1) the social aspect, which serves to counter radicalism and promote tolerance; (2) the educational aspect, by integrating these values into Islamic curricula; (3) the economic aspect, through community empowerment; and (4) the aspect of religious moderation, by introducing moderate values early in Islamic educatio

Literature Study: Mountain Scrubbing as Landslide and Flash Flood Disaster Mitigation Based on Local Wisdom in Java

    Get PDF
Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest disaster vulnerability in the world, particularly to flash floods and landslides due to its geographical conditions dominated by hilly areas, high rainfall, and land use changes. In this context, local wisdom plays a crucial role as an adaptive and sustainable community-based mitigation strategy. One form of local wisdom that is often used is Nyabuk Gunung, a technique for managing sloping land by following contour lines to resemble a "belt" encircling the mountain. By breaking water flow, increasing infiltration, slowing surface runoff, and stabilizing soil structure with the support of deeply rooted vegetation, this system has been proven to reduce the risk of erosion, landslides, and peak discharge of flash floods. This literature study aims to examine the application of Nyabuk Gunung in various mountainous areas of Java and comparing other regions such as Bali, Sunda, and even indigenous communities such as the Baduy and Ciptagelar. The results of the study indicate that this practice not only serves to maintain environmental sustainability but also is an integral part of the community's agrarian culture. Although implementation varies across regions, ranging from full terracing to elongated planting patterns, the principles of soil and water conservation remain consistent. The preservation and revitalization of Nyabuk Gunung has become an important urgency amidst modernization to strengthen hydrometeorological disaster resilience in a sustainable manner

Tourism plays an important role in the Indonesian economy, including in Lampung Province which has natural resources such as beaches, lakes, dams, and nature reserves. One of the leading destinations is Way Kambas National Park (TNWK), which was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now open again with a focus on education and conservation. This study aims to examine the influence of facilities, tourist attractions, and prices on the decision to return to TNWK in the perspective of Islamic Business Ethics. The method used is quantitative with the help of SmartPLS 4, involving 97 respondents determined through the Lemeshow formula. The results of the analysis showed that the three variables facilities p-value of 0.006, tourist attractions p p-value of 0.021 and the price of p-value of 0.000 had a positive and significant effect on the decision to visit again because it is less than 0.05. Terms of the hypothesis test. Simultaneously, all variables also significantly affect the p-value of 0.000. Sustainable tourism in TNWK is based on Islamic Business Ethics, which integrates the principles of Justice, amanah, maslahah, and non-destructive. This unique approach contributes significantly by demonstrating that tourism based on Islamic values can be a holistic solution to achieve economic, social, and environmental sustainability

    Get PDF
This study investigates the role of behavioral biases in shaping investment decisions among young investors in Indonesia, with a focus on the mediating effects of fear of missing out (FOMO) and risk perception, as well as the moderating role of religiosity. Drawing upon behavioral finance and prospect theory, we collected data from 384 respondents and analyzed the structural relationships using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The research employed a quantitative, explanatory approach using survey methods. Data were collected from 384 respondents selected through proportional random sampling from a population of 12.8 million young investors in Indonesia with Single Investor Identification (SID), using a questionnaire with a 1–7 interval scale. The results show that behavioral biases significantly affect investment decisions, both directly and indirectly through FOMO and risk perception. Religiosity also moderates these relationships, guiding investors toward more ethical and rational choices. The study enriches behavioral finance by combining cognitive, emotional, and cultural perspectives and offers practical insights for improving financial literacy and reducing biased investment behavior

Lompek Paga Money in Minangkabau Custom: A Social Study and an Islamic Legal Perspective

    Get PDF
The lompek paga tradition in Lunto Village emerged during the youth migration of the 1980s as a customary compensation required from men marrying women from outside the village, typically in the form of five sacks of cement or an equivalent payment. This study aims to analyze the social meaning and legal status of lompek paga within the framework of Islamic law using the concept of ‘urf (custom). Using a descriptive qualitative field approach with ethnographic techniques, data were collected through interviews with niniak mamak (customary elders), community leaders, and residents. The data were analyzed thematically and triangulated to ensure validity. The findings show that lompek paga serves as a customary mechanism to maintain the social authority of niniak mamak and strengthen communal attachment to the homeland amid shifting marriage patterns caused by migration. From an Islamic legal perspective, this tradition may be categorized as ‘urf ṣāḥiḥ (valid custom) as long as it is not imposed as a marriage requirement or enforced coercively. The study demonstrates how the authority of niniak mamak has been sustained through the lompek paga institution, offering insights into the evolving relationship between customary practice and Islamic law in Minangkabau society

This study aims to describe the application of the drill method with the Make a Match technique in vocabulary learning and analyze its effect on students' learning motivation, collaboration skills, and psychological barriers. This study employed a qualitative approach, utilizing the Classroom Action Research model designed by Kemmis and McTaggart, which was implemented in two learning cycles with class VIII students at MTs Al Musyaffa' in Semarang. Data were collected through observation using indicator sheets that assessed motivation, collaboration, and psychological barriers, and then analyzed descriptively by calculating the percentage of achievements for each cycle. The data in this study consisted of both qualitative observation data and quantitative data, specifically, students' achievement percentages in each cycle. The data sources included students, Arabic language teachers, and documentation of the learning process. Data were collected through observation sheets, field notes, and documentation of learning activities. The analysis technique employed descriptive analysis, calculating the percentage of achievement indicators for each observed aspect (motivation, collaboration, and psychological barriers) in both cycles, followed by a qualitative interpretation of the changes occurring across the cycles. The results showed a significant improvement in all three aspects observed. Students' learning motivation increased from the “sufficient” category to “excellent”. Collaboration skills showed improvement in aspects of cooperation and responsibility, while psychological barriers, such as the fear of being wrong and lack of confidence, decreased significantly. The application of the drill method, combined with the Make a Match technique, proved effective in creating a fun and interactive learning atmosphere that encouraged students' active involvement in learning Arabic

This study aims to align assessment in teaching and learning of the Kitabah material based on Assessment for Learning (AFL). To achieve this goal, this study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, utilizing two data sources: primary data collected through interviews and observations, and secondary data obtained from the MTs Arabic curriculum and the seventh-grade teaching modules at MTs Al-Musyawarah Lembang. The study population consisted of 26 students with 7 samples selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis included data condensation, presentation, and verification through the application of triangulation of sources and methods to ensure data validity. The results of the study indicate that assessment practices are not fully aligned with the principles of Assessment for Learning of the four main prerequisites for optimal AfL integration, only one has been implemented: teachers simplifying learning objectives according to student abilities. Other prerequisites, such as assessments, do not provide constructive feedback. Students have not been trained to assess themselves or their peers, and schools do not adequately support the learning of the kitabah material, including the provision of textbooks that are more suited to students' abilities

    Get PDF
This study investigates the impact of translation techniques on the quality of automatic Arabic–Indonesian translations in TikTok captions from the account @IqraaMedia. The objectives of this research are to identify the translation techniques employed and to evaluate translation quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability. This study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach using text analysis. The data consist of 25 Arabic TikTok captions containing Islamic preaching content, along with their automatically generated Indonesian translations. The data were purposively selected based on the relevance and completeness of the translations and collected through documentation, observation, and recording captions from the TikTok platform. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: identifying structural and semantic shifts between source and target texts; classifying translation techniques using Molina and Albir’s framework; and assessing translation quality using Nababan et al.’s model, rated on a 3-point scale (1–3) by three expert raters. The findings reveal seven translation techniques, with transposition as the most frequently used (32.39%), followed by established equivalence and literal translation (23.94% each). Translation quality assessment yielded average scores of 2.12 for accuracy, 1.84 for acceptability, and 1.80 for readability, indicating moderate overall quality. The results suggest that automatic translations generally convey the main message but often lack naturalness, cultural appropriateness, and clarity, particularly in translating religious terms. This study concludes that while automatic translation facilitates access to Arabic Islamic content on social media, improvements are required to enhance translation quality for effective multilingual religious communication
