The Role of Religious Leaders in Lessening Stigma Toward Individuals with HIV/AIDS in Islamic Communities of Cirebon City
This study aims to examine the contribution of religious leaders in reducing stigma against PLWHA within Muslim communities in Cirebon City. The research employed a qualitative phenomenological method to capture the lived experiences of religious leaders, PLWHA, and other stakeholders. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation conducted between March and May 2025. In total, 12 religious leaders, 10 PLWHA, three healthcare officers, and representatives from 2 local NGOs participated in the study. Observations were carried out in mosques, religious study groups, and health institutions across Cirebon City to understand the real practices of inclusive preaching and collaboration. The data were analyzed using the Colaizzi phenomenological approach, which involved identifying significant statements, formulating meanings, clustering themes, and validating findings through member checking. The research findings indicate that the presence of religious leaders plays a significant role in shaping a more open public view of PLWHA. Through an inclusive religious approach based on humanitarian values, religious leaders can act as drivers of social change that strengthen solidarity and eliminate the stigma inherent in PLWHA. Therefore, this study recommends the need for skills development and capacity building programs for religious leaders so that they can play an optimal role in efforts to eliminate HIV/AIDS stigma within Muslim communities
Social Learning Environment and Gadget Use As Determinants of Elementary School Students' Learning Motivation
This study investigates the relationship between the learning environment and gadget use on students’ learning motivation. The research employed a quantitative approach with a descriptive survey design, involving a population of 53 fifth-grade students at SDN Jelapat II-1, Mekarsari District, Barito Kuala Regency. A sample of 44 students was selected using simple random sampling based on the Isaac and Michael table, with a 5% margin of error. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using correlation tests, after meeting the prerequisite assumptions of normality, linearity, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity, and autocorrelation. The findings revealed a strong positive correlation between the learning environment and learning motivation (r = 0.732). In contrast, gadget use showed a moderate positive correlation with learning motivation (r = 0.429, P = 0.004). Maritime Learning Innovation Based on the 2013 Curriculum in Early Childhood Education
This study aims to develop a maritime curriculum design for Early Childhood Education that is relevant to the needs of the maritime community in the Banten region. The research methodology used is R&D with the ADDIE model. The steps of this development research include Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The population was conducted in 3 schools, with a sample of 5 teachers from the school: 2 teachers, one teacher from BKB Kemas Dahlia, and one teacher from TKIT Mathla'ul Anwar Sadatani. Data collection techniques used in this study were observation, interviews, documentation, and questionnaires. The results of the study, based on the analysis stage, found that students had low reading interest and difficulty understanding maritime material, so the researcher designed a maritime learning model by integrating the 2013 curriculum. After the design was carried out, it was then developed in the form of a table containing the arrangement of themes, subthemes, and indicators that correspond to the maritime material integrated with the 2013 curriculum. The implementation stage was trialed in 3 PAUD institutions in the Banten region. In the final stage, namely evaluation, validation is carried out by several experts according to their fields, as well as by PAUD teachers
Reconstructing Curriculum Management As A Key Pillar of Realising Educational Equity in Marginalised Schools
This study investigates the reconstruction of curriculum management in marginalised schools through the lens of educational justice. Using a critical narrative approach, the research examines the challenges faced by schools in Amuntai, South Kalimantan, where the top-down national curriculum model fails to meet local needs and contexts. The study explores how national policies, despite their intentions to standardise education, exacerbate educational inequalities in rural settings. Data were collected from teachers, school principals, and students through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and document analysis. The study employs Critical Narrative Analysis (CNA) for data analysis, involving three stages: organising the data into thematic categories, interpreting these themes to identify recurring patterns, and deconstructing the ideological narratives underlying curriculum practices. The findings indicate that while teachers demonstrate local initiative in adapting the curriculum to better suit their students’ needs, their efforts are largely unrecognised by formal educational authorities, and their involvement in curriculum decision-making is minimal. This lack of recognition limits the sustainability of local adaptations. The study argues that a more flexible, participatory curriculum design is required—one that values local knowledge and practices and empowers teachers and students to contribute to decision-making. It highlights that curriculum reform, rooted in the principles of educational justice, should focus on equitable representation, recognition, and redistribution of educational resources. Ultimately, this research provides recommendations for creating an inclusive educational system that acknowledges the specific needs of marginalised communities and supports local contexts in shaping curriculum design
Character Education Management Strategies to Address the Negative Impacts of Social Media Use on Youth
This study aims to explore effective character education management strategies to address the negative impacts of social media use on adolescents. This research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to analyze studies on character education, digital citizenship, and social media, focusing on their impact on adolescents. A qualitative approach was used, synthesizing peer-reviewed journal articles, books, and conference papers published in the last five years from academic databases like Google Scholar, PubMed, and Scopus. Data collection involved selecting relevant studies based on specific keywords and predetermined criteria. The collected data were then analyzed through several stages: first, screening and classifying the selected literature; second, extracting key variables such as research focus, methodology, and outcomes; and third, performing a narrative synthesis to identify recurring themes, patterns, and gaps in current research. The results showed that integrating character education with digital citizenship education is crucial in equipping adolescents with the skills to interact positively online. Furthermore, the role of educators trained in technology and digital ethics is essential to help adolescents manage the psychological impacts of social media. The biggest challenge faced is the lack of a curriculum that explicitly integrates digital citizenship with character education. A phenomenon-based approach has proven effective in addressing this challenge by providing students with real-life experiences. In conclusion, digital-based character education can improve adolescents' skills in managing social media use more responsibly. This research makes an important contribution to the development of a more relevant educational curriculum in the digital era

Breaking Through Binarities: Islamic Education in the Vortex of Gender, Sexuality, and Human Rights
The issue of gender binary, sexuality, and human rights in Islamic education discourse in Indonesia is an area that is often neglected but crucial for the relevance of religious education in the contemporary era. Aiming to analyze the understanding of PAI teachers, school principals, and students regarding these issues and how PAI reflects or responds to them, this study identifies challenges and opportunities in integrating non-binary perspectives. Using a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design at SMAN 1 and SMAN 2 in Ciamis District, data were collected through in-depth interviews with four PAI teachers, two school principals, and several students, supplemented by document analysis. The research indicates that the majority of PAI teachers and school leaders also retain a binary understanding of gender and sexuality. Many of these teachers also report feeling inadequately prepared or unable to know where to start when it comes to teaching these issues. Although there is a general commitment to human rights, its implementation in these sensitive issues remains limited. On the other hand, students demonstrate ambiguity, accepting the binary narrative of PAI while also being exposed to diversity from other sources, creating a gap between formal teachings and their lived realities. As a result, PAI risks losing relevance and creating an environment that is less inclusive if it does not adapt to broader socio-cultural realities. This requires curriculum development, teacher training, and more progressive school policies to foster a more comprehensive understanding of religion, humanity, and diversity
Web-Based ICT Training to Strengthen Early Childhood Teachers’ Digital Competence in UIN Ponorogo Partner Kindergartens
The growing emphasis on digital transformation in education highlights the need for teachers, including those in early childhood education (ECD), to develop stronger digital competencies. This study examined the effectiveness of a web-based ICT training program designed to enhance teachers’ digital literacy, particularly in managing school websites as a medium of communication and promotion. The research employed a qualitative case study design through observation, interviews, and group discussions. The training was designed using the ADDIE model and combined theoretical input with hands-on practice in website management, including uploading news and promoting school activities online. Findings revealed significant improvements in teachers’ digital literacy, confidence, and ability to participate actively in web-based communication. Schools that had previously shown little online activity became more engaged through their websites. These outcomes support prior research that stresses the value of practical ICT training in preparing teachers for digital readiness. Nevertheless, challenges remained regarding the short training duration and disparities in participants’ digital proficiency. The study demonstrates that targeted ICT training can play a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ professional development and facilitating their adaptation to the demands of the digital era

Analysis of Character Development, Religious, Nationalistic, and Global Perspective Through Civic Education
This study aims to analyze how civic education can develop students' characters in terms of religious, nationalistic, and global perspectives. The research method employed is a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data were collected through interviews and observations, and then analyzed using data triangulation, adapted from Miles and Huberman, which involved data reduction, data presentation, and data/conclusion verification with MAXQDA 24 software. The results of this study found that the development of the characters of religious, nationalistic, and global perspectives in students through civic education learning is built through the simultaneous interaction of five main elements, namely: (1) the role and competence of teachers; (2) diverse learning models and methods; (3) the integration of religious, nationalistic, and global perspective values; (4) holistic assessment and evaluation; and (5) learning environment and school culture. This model offers a conceptual renewal for the revitalisation of civic education in the 21st century, while strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile as citizens who are faithful, love their country, and have a global perspective
