    Get PDF
This study aims to describe whether there is an improvement in student learning outcomes after using Nearpod as a learning medium in the IPAS (Integrated Science and Social Studies) subject, specifically on electrical energy and technology in everyday life. This research employs a quantitative method with a Pre-Experimental Design. The population comprises all fifth-grade students at MIS Al-Jihad Palangka Raya, with Class VC selected as the sample using a purposive sampling technique. The instruments used include observation, pre-test, and post-test assessments. The instrument test was conducted in Class VIC, resulting in 21 valid items with a reliability coefficient of 0.873. Observations were carried out by directly assessing the learning process conducted by the fifth-grade teacher, using 17 observation indicators. The prerequisite tests included the normality test (0.407) and the homogeneity test (0.228). The study results showed that using Nearpod during classroom observation yielded a score of 95%, which falls into the very high category. The researchers measured the effectiveness of improving students' learning outcomes using the N-Gain score and obtained a value of 0.63, indicating moderate effectiveness. The t-test analysis produced a significance value of < 0.000. Based on the decision rule, since the significance value is less than 0.05, the researchers rejected the null hypothesis (H₀) and accepted the alternative hypothesis (Hₐ). Therefore, they concluded that the use of Nearpod had a significant effect on student learning outcomes

    Get PDF
This study aims to identify gender-based differences in academic support, focusing on peer and teacher support variations among students. A mixed-methods approach was employed, with a dominant quantitative design complemented by qualitative insights. The research is descriptive-comparative. The primary data were collected from students of state Islamic senior high schools (MAN) in Riau Province, Indonesia, who constituted the study population. The sample consisted of 500 students distributed across four regional zones (north, west, south, and east), selected using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure balanced representation across geographical areas. Quantitative data were collected through a structured questionnaire adapted from validated scales measuring teacher and peer academic support. In contrast, qualitative data were obtained through structured interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs) with selected students. Quantitative data analysis involved independent samples t-tests and multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA), while qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The t-test results show no significant overall difference in academic support perceptions between male and female students. However, MANOVA revealed significant gender differences in teacher support, especially in communication and social interactions. Qualitative findings indicate that female students are more comfortable seeking help from teachers, while male students prefer peer collaboration. These results underscore the need for gender-responsive support strategies to enhance student engagement and academic outcomes

This study aims to evaluate the influence of a contextual approach on improving santri's kitab kuning literacy and to formulate an adaptive model at Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School Burneh Bangkalan. This research used a qualitative research with classroom action research (CAR). The data of this study is the improvement of literacy of Kitab Kuning for Santri at Al-Hikam Islamic Boarding School Burneh Bangkalan. The data of this study got from observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation of learning practices with beginner santri of Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah (MDT) at Al-Hikam. This research used Miles and Huberman's interactive mode to analysis data. The findings indicate that the adoption of the innovative "Al-Miftah Lil Ulum" method successfully addressed the ineffectiveness of the traditional sorogan method, significantly improving santri's morphological and syntactic analysis skills in a short period. The learning materials, structured in the form of nadzam, colored tables, and structured exercises, proved capable of bridging santri's cognitive gap towards classical texts. The implementation of this method had a significant impact on santri's ability to read and comprehend Fathul Qarib within a relatively short timeframe. This research found that challenges exist in the learning process, such as heterogeneity of abilities and the need to adjust the study duration to two years; these were addressed through class separation and strengthening meaning comprehension practices. The results of this study imply that the integration of contextual methods can bridge the gap between classical Islamic intellectual heritage and contemporary educational challenges, affirming the crucial role of innovation for pesantren's relevance in responding to 21st-century learning needs
