Role of Ayurveda in Postponing Arthroplasty in Severe Degenerative Joint Diseases
Degenerative joint disease, also known as osteoarthritis (OA) is a common “wear and tear” disease. Typically, relentless repetitive motion deteriorates structural joints and causes inflammation is the underlying cause of this illness. Although it may affect any joint, it is usually seen in the hands, hips, knees, and spine. Bilateral hip osteoarthritis is described as a non-inflammatory degenerative condition of the hip joint that typically manifests in middle or late life. It is marked by acetabular dysplasia and growth or maturational abnormalities in the femoral neck and head. Pain experienced while moving or carrying weight is a prevalent symptom. As per Ayurvedic classics, the clinical presentation can be understood as Sandhigatavata in the initial stages and later as Asthigathavatha. Initial presentation includes difficulty in moving joints. Bony pain and joint discomfort are explained as Sakthi and Sandhi Shoolam and associated with Theevram balakshayam [severe weakness]. Internal and external applications of Sneha are the main therapeutic modalities explained in Asthi-majja gatha vatha chikitsa by Bruhathrayees. In Charaka samhitha, Ksheera, Basthi and Sarpi with Thiktha rasa Dravya are mentioned as the primary treatment along with Panchakarmas. Because it is the best of the four Snehas, cow\u27s ghee was chosen for the study. According to Sanskaranuvartana, Ghrita has the ability to change in order to absorb the properties of things that are introduced while retaining its original attributes. Ghee\u27s inherent property, oleate, settles Vata and Pitta while without raising Kapha. Phospholipid bilayers are the core elements of cell membranes. Molecules and ions are unable to directly get into or out of the cell via the lipid layer. We constantly need a lipid medium to go deeper. Asthi, Majja, and Sukra have been considered as deeper Dhatus in Ayurveda. The greatest administration for that is Samana accha snehapana. Degenerative joint condition can be effectively treated with traditional Asthigathavata Chikitsa

An Ayurvedic Approach in the Management of Vatarakta
Ayurveda, since beginning emphasizes on the importance of wholesome lifestyle for maintenance of health and prevention of several diseases. Changing dietary habit with fast food culture, lack of physical activities and stressful environmental factors are the leading cause of many lifestyle disorders and Vatarakta is one of them. It is characterized by severe pain, swelling, stiffness, inflammation and burning sensation of affected joints. It may be correlated with Gout in contemporary science. A 45 years old female patient visited Panchakarma OPD of S.V.S.P hospital with severe pain, mild oedema, tingling sensation in the joints of hand and leg bilaterally associated with burning sensation and discolouration of both feet since 3 month. She was treated with Shamana aushadhi, Panchakarma therapy and specific dietary intervention for 30 days. Encouraging improvement in both subjective and objective criteria was obtained. This case study may ignite a positive hope for individual suffering from Vatarakta

Critical Analysis of Karnakshweda with its Modern Aspect
Shalakyatantra, one of the eight branches of Ayurveda deals with diseases above the level of the clavicle, i.e., Urdhwajatru. In that, there are twenty-eight Karnarogas as described by Acharya Sushruta, Yogratnakara, and Bhavprakasha. Karnaksweda is one of the Karnaroga that resembles Karnanada, but there is vitiation of Pittadi doshas with a predominance of Vata in the channels of Karna, leading to the generation of Venughoshavata, i.e., flute-like sound, because of different etiological factors like Dhatu Kshayaa, Ruksha Bhojana, etc.
In modern science, tinnitus is described as an unwanted auditory perception of internal origin, usually localised, and rarely heard by others. It can be subjective, when experience is of the individual alone, or, less commonly, objective. It, moreover, acts as a symptom rather than a disease with multifactorial etiology. Karnakshweda can be specifically correlated with cochlear synaptic tinnitus, i.e., tinnitus due to inner ear causes. The majority of cases of tinnitus are subjective; objective tinnitus is far less common. Treatment for Karnaksweda is described as the same as for Karnanada, which includes Vatahar Chikitsa, Snehana, Dhoomapana, Karnapoorana, etc., but there is no specific treatment for Tinnitus in modern science because of idiopathic etiopathogenesis. Ayurveda is a more effective science for the management of diseases like tinnitus
Lasunadi Agada in Lootha Visha Chikitsa - A Review
Agadatantra had a golden time period in Kerala, and was known in the name of Visha chikitsa. There were excellent Visha vaidhyas who used to treat extreme venomous conditions and even predict the condition of patient just through the Dootha lakshana. As a part of these practices, there were numerous textbooks on Visha chikitsa with unique and exclusive Yogas. Some of the books got maintained, and many got ruined. Among those only few practices are still in use in the management if Visha and still many are untouched. Prayoga samucchaya is a well-known traditional Keraleeya Visha chikitsa textbook written by renowned King Kochunni thamburan, which explains the concepts of Visha and its detail management. There many Agada yogas mentioned in the management of Lootha visha. Lasunadi Agada is a simple yoga explained in Prayoga samucchaya, which contains only 6 drugs, explained in the context of Lootha samanya chikitsa as Pana and Nasya. Presently this yoga is practicing in the name of Lasunadi gulika. So this paper is an attempt to review on the formulation Lasunadi Agada

Stability Study of Pashanbhedadi Churna Used in Treatment of Ashmari (Renal Calculi): with Respect to Baseline Microbial Diagnostic Modalities
Ashmari (Renal Calculi) is most common disease of urinary system. Ashmari or calculus looks like small gravels/stones hence they are termed as Ashmari. For the treatment of Ashmari Pashanbhedadi Churna was taken as a trial drug. As Pashanbhedadi Churna was trial drug it was necessary to check the stability. Stability of the drug is the time period from the drug production until the time it is intended to be consumed. So, present study was carried out to know the stability of Pashanbhedadi Churna and to check microbial contamination in the Pashanbhedadi Churna at different time interval. Pashanbhedadi Churna was stored in plastic bag. Microbial study of the drug was done at different climatic conditions, humidity and temperature set ups with regular intervals for a period of 11months to analyse mycological and bacteriological findings by wet mount preparation and Gram stain test respectively. Though in different climate, temperature and humidity conditions, at the end of microbial study, Churna has shown absence of microbes for approx.11 months of preparation of drug. So, it is showed that drug is stable in minimum 32°C temperature to maximum 38°C and minimum humidity 23% to maximum 74% humidity. That means stability duration of drug after preparation is approx. 11 months which showed that drug was in a standard condition. Hence it is concluded that stability test of Pashanbhedadi Churna with respect to microbiological findings was negative at room temperature, warm and cold, dry and humid conditions
