Cold Atmospheric Pressure Argon Plasma Jet Assisted Degradation of Malachite Green (MG) Aqueous Solution

    Get PDF
The oxidative degradation of cold atmospheric pressure plasma assisted degradation of malachite Green (MG) was investigated in this study. Cold atmospheric pressure plasma assisted MG degradation process was carried out as a function various plasma treatment time (05, 10, and 15 mins). The % of degradation and presence carbon content in the plasma treated MG was examined by UV-Visible spectroscopy (UV-Vis) and total organic carbon (TOC) analyzer. Optical emission spectrometer was used to identify formation of various reactive species during in situ plasma treatment. The higher degradation percentage of 90% was obtained after plasma treatment time of 15 min and value of TOC also found to decreased significantly with increasing plasma treatment time.  Toxicity of the plasma-treated MG aqueous solution samples was also examined by Staphylococcus aureus (S.aureus) bacteria

    Get PDF
The electrical resistivity technique is extremely supportive to investigate the nature of subsurface lithology by understand the variations in their electrical properties. The Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) technique by Schlumberger electrode array applied in 77 Locations at Ongur River Sub Basin in Tamil Nadu, India. The Signal stacking Resistivity Meter Model SSR-MP-ATS has been applied to gather the VES data by employed a Schlumberger array, one end current electrode (AB/2) ranging from 1 to 100 m, other side placing potential electrode (MN) from 0.5 to 10 m. The concept of the VES data interpreting is the foundation of IPI2Win. It means for a VES data are treated as a unity representing the geological structure of the Ongur River watershed. The output Geo-electrical layers, iso- resistivities and thickness of this area were prepared in spatial maps by using ARCGIS software. Consequently, the following zones with different resistivity values are detected consequent to different formations: (1) identification of lithology Ongur River Sub Basin, (2) layer saturated with fresh groundwater, (3) determine saltwater horizon

Also advantages and disadvantages of each method are discussed

Use of Modern Technology in The Automated Farming of Agriculture

    Get PDF
In order to improve efficiency, productivity, global market, and to reduce human intervention, time, and cost, there is a requirement for the introduction of new technology called the Internet of Things. The internet of things (IoT) is the network of interconnected devices that facilitates information transfer without human involvement. Agriculture and the Internet of Things work together to accomplish smart farming.   The current study is a systematic review on the use of IOT and other smart methods in agriculture

Entrapment of calf-thymus DNA on magnetic nanoparticles

    Get PDF
Magnetic nanoparticles can be used to load bio–molecules for various biophysical applications. The direct attachment of bio–molecules such as protein and DNA to magnetic nanoparticles may lead to alter their structure. A method to immobilize and store biomolecules for example DNA on to a magnetic nanoparticles surface without much structural alteration is carried out in the present work. DNA is a target for many therapeutic small molecules as therapeutic drugs bind to DNA – interfering with protein factors involved in DNA mechanism, or cleave DNA cross-link – interfering with the cell division. This may find applications in drug interactions study with the stored DNA without much alteration in their structure

Performance Comparison of Handover mechanisms in mobile wireless communication networks for Broadband Wireless Access Systems

    Get PDF
Mobility is the mobile communication characteristics which make it diverse and attractive for all. Wireless communication is now attractive to the whole world and provides the ability of users to communicate very active. Transferring the users from one radio network to another is accomplishing the IT. The process is called the handover process. The transfer takes place by adjusting the duration of the soft transfers, the area size and either by cell crossing or by deterioration in the signal quality of the current channel — the brief overview of handover, Handover in WiMAX and LTE, types of handover, handover types solutions, approaches used in literature are typically transfer parameters and I contemporary the convergent fact for continuance in the area of mobile and wireless communication Handover

Spectroscopic diagnostic complex based on the magnetron sputtering device with a digital method of the data mining

    Get PDF
A diagnostic complex based on a magnetron sputtering device is proposed for studying a magnetron discharge plasma parameter by optical emission spectroscopy, using two spectroscopic systems: photographic and photoelectric. Software for digital processing of the obtained emission spectra is developed. The results obtained by the two spectroscopic systems are compared

Targeting groundwater potential zones using Electrical resistivity and GIS techniques in Kadavanar Sub-basin, South India

    Get PDF
Geographical Information System techniques are widely used to determine suitable sites for groundwater recharge through artificial recharge techniques. The present research work is to identify suitable locations for constructing artificial recharge structures in the Kadavanar Sub-basin, South India. People in the Sub-basin mainly depend on the groundwater resources for drinking and irrigation purposes. Groundwater resources are often overexploited in many parts of this Sub-basin to meet the water demand leading to groundwater consumption. A lot of surfaces and sub-surface information and criteria are required for mapping the groundwater recharge zone. This is where the geographic information system [GIS] provides the right impetus besides the groundwater prospective zone to harness multilayered spatial data so that multi-criteria analysis is possible. This analysis integrates historic rainfall data analysis, groundwater level fluctuation, stream network, aquifer thickness, land use/land cover and basin slope. Drainage map, slope map and land use/land cover maps were prepared from satellite imageries. Vertical electrical sounding (VES) geophysical survey with Schlumberger electrode configuration was also conducted in the basin at 50 locations to map the aquifer thickness. Spatial variation maps for groundwater level and aquifer thickness were generated using GIS. Weighted aggregation method was used in this study to obtain groundwater recharge maps. Finally, multi-criteria analysis has been carried out to identify and assess the potential sites for groundwater recharge according to the associated weightages. It is established that GIS is best suited for the mapping of groundwater recharge zones. A similar study can be extended to any other hard-rock region facing water crises

Assessment of sources and distribution metals in groundwater of Pondicherry region, India

    Get PDF
The proposed study investigates the seasonal variation in the concentration and the source of the heavy metals like Mn, Cu, Pb, Zn and Fe in the groundwater samples of Pondicherry region. The study results reveal that, the heavy metal concentration is high during South West Monsoon season (SWM) compared to that of North East Monsoon season (NEM). The pH was near neutral and metal load representing most of the samples were low during NEM. Statistical analysis shows that the 63.7 % of the total variance is observed during NEM and 68.9% during SWM. Geographic information system (GIS) tool was considered for the study to understand the environmental pollution status of the groundwater systems of the study area and to identify the groundwater quality parameters. The multivariate statistical analysis explains that the source of trace metal in the groundwater is derived from natural origin except copper and lead as these contaminants were derived from anthropogenic activities. Based on the output of WATEQ4F, several species of heavy metals exist, in which the dominant species are Mn, CuCl2, PbCO3, Fe and Zn
