Instructions on how to use the DCC schema to create a digital calibration certificate for non-automatic weighing instruments : Expert Report DKD-E 7-3

    No full text
Advancing digitalisation does also affect the field of calibration. In view of this development and responding to the needs of industry, the digital calibration certificate (DCC) has been developed. The DCC is an XSD file (XML Schema Definition) that serves as a kind of template for digital calibration certificates for all measurands in XML format (Extensible Markup Language). Its implementation therefore requires further, subject-related specifications. To examine potential applications for the calibration of non-automatic weighing instruments (abbreviated as NAWIs in the following) and to determine the related specifications, the DKD Technical Committee Mass and Weighing Instruments has set up a group of experts who have created the present document. This document describes the contents of the digital calibration certificate for NAWIs. All considerations made here are intended for calibrations according to EURAMET Calibration Guide No. 18, V4.0 – they may however partially be applicable to calibrations according to other procedures as well. The focus here is on the flexible information in the DCC. The application of the specifications described here to similar calibration items, such as mass standards or density standards, is possible in many cases without any problems. The present document refers to version 3.3.0 of the DCC schema (https://www.ptb.de/dcc/v3.3.0/autogenerated-docs/dcc.html#dcc.xsd). For implementation, it is recommended to refer to the latest version of the schema. This version is completely downward compatible and allows, among other things, improved indication of references. Given the continuous changes in the field of digital certificates, this report can only reflect the current state of discussions – something to be taken into account in any kind of evaluation or referencing. These changes may refer to changes in the schema file or to higher-level specifications such as coordinated refType attributes. The validity of the remaining regulations remains unaffected

Calibration of climatic chambers : Guideline DKD-R 5-7

    No full text
This guideline lays down the minimum requirements for the calibration procedure and the determination of the measurement uncertainty in the calibration of climatic chambers. It is applicable to the calibration of climatic chambers for gas temperature and relative gas humidity or only for gas temperature. In the context of this guideline, gas humidity is understood to mean gaseous material systems consisting exclusively of the components water and carrier gas. The scope of the guideline covers the carrier gases air and nitrogen. For other carrier gases proof of validation is required. This guideline also applies to the calibration of individual measuring locations in climatic chambers; in this case, the calibration is not valid for the entire climatic chamber

D3: Report describing the development of measurement methods for isotope ratios that are traceable to the SI and summarising the advantages/disadvantages of applying them to more commonly available techniques by providing suitable operation procedures focusing on stable polluting elements

    No full text
The objective of WP2 – Advancing stable and long-lived radiogenic isotope ratio measurements of environmental pollutants was to develop robust and broadly applicable methods for the determination of isotope ratios of stable and long-lived radionuclides by mass spectrometry. The target performance was to achieve measurement uncertainties sufficiently low to resolve natural mass-dependent isotope fractionation. For the development and optimisation of these methods, the environmentally relevant elements Li, B, Cr, Cd, Ni, Sb, Pb, and U were selected as key indicators. This report presents the state of the art and the methodological improvements achieved within the MetroPOEM project. The work focused on isotope ratio determination using a range of mass spectrometric techniques and includes i) a systematic comparison of accuracy and precision across different instrument platforms; ii) the development and optimisation of both manual and automated chemical separation procedures; and iii) the implementation of collision/reaction cell technologies to resolve spectral interferences

Phantom power test setup for accuracy measurements of high power DC charging stations

    No full text
This paper describes a test setup for determining the accuracy of energy measurement of high power DC charging stations. To avoid the need for a controllable high power load to set up the test points, a new approach using phantom power is described. The suitability of the test setup is demonstrated by comparing the results of measurements using phantom power with the results of measurements using real power
