Lower-Middle Triassic conodont biostratigraphy and evolution from South Tibet, China: implications for global correlations.
International audienceConodonts have played important roles in Triassic biochronology, providing a robust timescale for deciphering the mechanisms and patterns of the Permian–Triassic mass extinction and its subsequent recovery. Studies of Early–Middle Triassic conodonts in South Tibet are relatively scarce and lack high-resolution conodont biostratigraphies. In this study, we have presented 12 interval zones based on the collection, including 58 species in 16 genera of conodonts from three sections (Selong, Xialong and Gyanyima) in South Tibet. The Clarkina taylorae Zone, Neoclarkina krystyni Zone, Novispathodus pingdingshanensis Zone, Triassospathodus homeri Zone, and Nicoraella germanica Zone were first reported in South Tibet. In combination with previous work from the Neotethys, 12 Unitary Association zones (UAZs), comprising two Griesbachian, two Dienerian, four Smithian, and four Spathian UAZs, were recognized, seven of which were documented within South Tibet. Based on the new data from South Tibet, we have identified six stages in the evolution and diversification of the Early Triassic conodonts. Combining the new conodont biozones with published ammonoid UAZs and carbonate isotopic profiles provides a robust integrated Early Triassic stratigraphy, which enabled a more precise definition of the Induan–Olenekian boundary within the Neotethyan realm
Are plant protein ingredients efficient egg white replacers in foams ?
International audienceTo meet the increasing demand for protein and environment sustainability, there is a necessity to support protein transition by expanding the range of plant-based protein products. Foams are particularly challenging applications as they required protein with high solubility, fast diffusion towards the interface, flexibility and interactions ability. Egg white proteins are often considered as reference proteins for foaming. This study compared 7 plant protein ingredients (5 isolates – potato (2 proteins fractions), pea, soy and gluten; 2 concentrate – pea and soy) as egg white replacer in foams. Ingredient composition, physical and hydration properties of ingredient powders and foaming properties as well as foam texture have been characterized. Three ingredients out of the seven tested formed stable foams when rehydrated at minimum 3% (w/v) in water (2 potato protein isolates and 1 gluten isolate). The foaming properties of these ingredients and egg white were mainly explained by the ingredient composition and powder physical properties whereas the solution properties were not correlated with foaming properties. Optimization using experimental design and data analysis for protein content and pH were then performed on these ingredients. Predictive models were obtained for foaming capacity, foam stability against drainage, foam firmness, adhesiveness and cohesion as a function of pH and protein content for each ingredient. These models can be used by foam manufacturers to choose the best egg replacer considering the pH and the protein content of its application

It includes three studies: the first is a general analysis of titles in which the most frequently used words are identified; the second compares genre-related designations of plays from 1824 with those of 1819 and 1829; and, finally, the third highlights lexical evidence of Romantic trends in titles from 1824.Cet article explore l’année 1824 à partir des sections littéraires de la Bibliographie de la France, telles que reportées dans la « BiblioBase ». Il propose trois études : la première esquisse une titrologie générale et repère les termes les plus fréquents dans les titres ; la deuxième compare les désignations génériques des pièces de théâtre de 1824 avec celles de 1819 et 1829 ; la troisième, enfin, s’attache à repérer dans les titres les indices lexicaux d’une mode romantique en 1824
