Analysis on the Writing Errors of Grade 6 Students: Basis for Instructional Material Development
The ability of students to express themselves through writing is not just a reflection of their linguistic prowess but also a determinant of their academic and future career success. The purpose of this study is to conduct an analysis on the writing errors of Grade 6 students of Paciencia Elementary School, Loreto, Agusan Del Sur. The findings would be used as the basis for instructional material development and to recommend emphasizing teaching integration of the identified errors. The dominant errors were related to punctuation, capitalization, and incorrect verb forms, indicating a significant need for focused instruction in these areas to improve pupils' writing proficiency. In response to these findings, the study suggests developing targeted instructional materials that include structured lessons and practice exercises focusing on the most common errors. These resources should be integrated into the curriculum. Recommendations from the study emphasize the roles of various stakeholders in improving writing skills among pupils. Teachers should implement targeted instructional materials and attend professional development workshops. The school administration should support the integration of these materials and fund workshops while regularly assessing pupils' grammar skills. Pupils should engage actively in grammar lessons and seek feedback, and parents should encourage and support their children in practicing grammar skills at home. Policymakers and curriculum developers should incorporate the study's findings into national curriculum standards and allocate resources to support these initiatives. Future research should explore additional factors affecting grammar skills and the long-term impact of targeted instruction on overall academic performance
Differentiated E-Module Based on Problem-Based Learning: Natural Science Subject
Finding out whether PBL-based differentiated e-modules are feasible, practical, and effective are the three main objectives of this project. This study uses the ADDIE paradigm (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) in conjunction with the Research and Development (R&D) technique. Thirty seventh-grade earth and solar system students served as the study's subjects. In addition to phases of individual trials, small group trials, and field trials, this study included validation tests conducted by professionals in media, instructional design, and materials. The study's findings revealed: In the Very Feasible category, Material Experts scored 85.09, while Learning Design Experts scored 92.87. Extremely feasible Experts in Media Design scored 89.44 in the category of Very Feasible. Field trials scored 87.29 in the Very Feasible category, small group trials scored 87.30, and individual trials scored 87.27 in the Very Feasible category. At a significance threshold of α = 0.05, the computation yielded tcount = 4.256 and ttable = 1.67, indicating that tcount > ttable. These findings indicate that, at a significance level of 5%, there is a substantial difference between the learning outcomes of the students in the experimental and control classes, with H0 being rejected and Ha being accepted. According to the efficacy test's computation, According to the data, students who get instruction using PBL-based differentiated E-modules achieve better learning outcomes than those who receive printed books (81.25% > 73.33%). Therefore, it can be said that the Science on Earth and Solar System class VII PBL-based differentiated E-modules at SMP N 43 Medan are superior to using printed books
Addressing Student Tardiness Through a Strategic Reward System: A Study Among Grade 12 Students
This action research explored the effectiveness of a Strategic Reward System (SRS) in reducing student tardiness among Grade 12 students at Libertad National High School. The main objective was to determine whether implementing a structured reward system could significantly decrease instances of tardiness and enhance punctuality. The study employed a pre- and post-observation design, collecting data from student attendance records before and after the implementation of a lottery-based SRS. The intervention provided tangible incentives for on-time attendance, and the results were analyzed using a Mean Percentage Score and a T-test to assess the significance of changes in student behavior. The findings revealed a notable reduction in student tardiness, with statistical analysis confirming a significant difference between pre-and post-intervention data. The results align with existing literature on the positive impact of reward-based strategies in educational settings. It is suggested that schools adopt a structured reward system as part of their behavior management policy to foster a culture of punctuality and enhance student engagement. Future research should expand on these findings by exploring the application of reward systems across diverse educational contexts and incorporating gamified elements to sustain student motivation
Analyzing Finite Dependent Clauses in English Writing: A Study of Mahlabatheng High School Grade 11 Students
Though the concept of subordination has been explored in the context of L1 and L2 speakers of English language, more attention has been on the leaners of higher education. Against this background, the present paper set out to explore the use of finite dependent clauses by Mahlabatheng High School Grade 11 students where the main objective is to examine the extent to which the learners portray their ability to use finite dependent clauses and to also investigate whether they are able to use different types of such clauses. In order to achieve this objective, the study applied both qualitative and quantitative research methods, which included analysis of data obtained from students’ sample essays. The study used a combination of convenience and purposive sampling to select a sample of twenty-five students from whom the data was collected. The findings of the study revealed that students are able to demonstrate their ability to use the finite dependent clauses as on average, 96 percent of the total population were able to use finite dependent clauses in their writing and they used different types. The results further demonstrated that most students did not use the nominal clauses as compared to the other types of finite dependent clauses. The study, therefore, concludes that Mahlabatheng High School Grade 11 learners have ability to use finite dependent clauses. However, the recommendation is that more focus should be put on the nominal clauses
Factors Affecting Consumers’ Impulse Buying Behavior in Thai Nguyen City, Vietnam
The study uses primary data collected from a structured survey of 300 customers at supermarkets and shopping malls in Thai Nguyen city, Vietnam. Using the exploratory factor analysis and a multiple regression model, the study analyzed factors affecting consumers' impulse buying behavior. Results show that five main factors having significantly positive impacts on impulse buying behavior of customers in Thai Nguyen city include availability of time and money, music and promotions, shopping enjoyment tendency, in-store factors, and surroundings. However, the findings on impulse buying tendencies and personality traits are inconclusive, as they show the expected positive signs but do not have a statistically significant impact. This means that while these factors may have a theoretical impact on impulse buying, their practical significance in this specific context remains uncertain. Understanding factors affecting customers’ impulse buying behavior helps the enterprises to design strategies and measures to encourage impulse buying among their customers
