No full textThe object of the work is Mykolas Vaitkus dramaturgy, theater-related articles, receptions and reflections in the memories of contemporaries. Motive for choosing topic of the paper — Mykolas Vaitkus is an undeservedly forgotten creator of Klaipeda region. The research of the Mykolas Vaitkus contribution to the dramaturgy and the theater art is poor. M. Vaitkus' dramaturgy is mentioned in some memoirs of contemporaries, in several criticism articles. The uniqueness and value of his work was written by KU student Sigita Skiriūtė. A few years ago, another of his dramas, Amazoniada, was discovered, so the completed dramatic legacy of M. Vaitkus should be reflected with a new perspective, the significance of his work is actualized, and the enduring value is specified. The aim of the work is to examine the nature, peculiarity, value and significance of Mykolas Vaitkus' dramaturgy in the history of Lithuanian theater. To achieve the goal, the following tasks were set: to present a portrait of Mykolas Vaitkus personality, to review his work, to reveal the uniqueness and value of specific works of dramaturgy, to find out why Mykolas Vaitkus dramaturgy was not staged in Lithuanian theaters. The introduction briefly presents M. Vaitkus' work and personality. The relevance of the work is discussed, the object, the goal and the tasks to achieve the goal are presented. Further paper work is divided into three parts: outline of M. Vaitkus' personality portrait, review of M. Vaitkus work, peculiarity and value of M. Vaitkus dramaturgy. The conclusions summarize the implementation of the goal and objectives of the work

No full textThe benefits of SMEs to both the state and the region have been highlighted in many studies, which indicate that SMEs are the backbone of the economy, on which the state, its regions and populations depend. Research into the concept and the role of well-being in in the socio-economic environment is still lacking. The geography of SMEs has been studied little in Lithuanian regions and in particular municipalities, but there is a need for it, especially in preparation for strategic development plans, the promotion of SME action plans in relation to the implementation of regional policy guidelines, increasing the economic competitiveness of the country’s regions, and promoting the economy of peripheral regions. Due to the declining population and the geographic conditions caused by sparsely populated areas, major challenges to continuing survival are encountered in the business environment. Some SMEs are able to successfully adapt to the current economic, social and demographic conditions, and to carry out activities which are often based on the use of local resources, the use of innovative technologies in production, and on the demand in national and international markets. Assessing the SME business structure and its territorial differentiation, the Šilutė district is dominated by the retail and wholesale trade, construction, transport and logistics, and other economic activities, most of which are concentrated in Šilutė. So the district can be called a mono-centric economic district. Business enterprises also operate in Kintai, Rusnė, Saugos, Švėkšna and Žemaičių Naumiestis, where there are SME local economic centres, the functioning of which is based on the application of local natural resources, production technologies, and innovations in business models. SME ecosystems are transforming from general functionality (trade, manufacturing and real estate operations) to intellectual capital-intensive activities, applying digital technologies, innovation and creative industries, the development of which is conditioned by business opportunities that are not directly related to natural resources, which is also called possibilism development models. The values of the territorial concentration of business enterprises, especially 1.01 <, according to the activities of enterprises in localities, indicates the economic specialisation of these areas and the differentiation of the business structure
Spatiotemporal patterns of N2 fixation in coastal waters derived from rate measurements and remote sensing /
No full textCoastal lagoons are important sites for nitrogen (N) removal via sediment burial and denitrification. Blooms of heterocystous cyanobacteria may diminish N retention as dinitrogen (N2) fixation offsets atmospheric losses via denitrification. We measured N2 fixation in the Curonian Lagoon, Europe's largest coastal lagoon, to better understand the factors controlling N2 fixation in the context of seasonal changes in phytoplankton community composition and external N inputs. Temporal patterns in N2 fixation were primarily determined by the abundance of heterocystous cyanobacteria, mainly Aphanizomenon flos-aquae, which became abundant after the decline in riverine nitrate inputs associated with snowmelt. Heterocystous cyanobacteria dominated the summer phytoplankton community resulting in strong correlations between chlorophyll a (Chl a) and N2 fixation. We used regression models relating N2 fixation to Chl a, along with remote-sensing-based estimates of Chl a to derive lagoon-scale estimates of N2 fixation. N2 fixation by pelagic cyanobacteria was found to be a significant component of the lagoon's N budget based on comparisons to previously derived fluxes associated with riverine inputs, sediment–water exchange, and losses via denitrification.
