Novel coronavirus, currently named the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus – 2 causes the COVID-19 disease. On March 11 2020 WHO announced that the outbreak of novel coronavirus became a global pandemic. Nursing staff knowledge concerning the COVID-19 disease and the ability to work efficiently in the changed environment are vital to fight the pandemic successfully. Lack of knowledge leads to self – doubt and fear of coronavirus, which reduces job satisfaction. The main objective of the research – to analyze the military medical doctor assistants’ knowledge regarding COVID-19 disease and their job satisfaction during the pandemic period. Methods of the research. A quantitative study was performed. The tool used during the study was written questionnaire, composed of two standardized questionnaires: „COVID-19 pandemic questionnaire“ and „Job Satisfaction Survey, JSS“. Descriptive data analysis performed by using statistical software package „SPSS 22.0 for Windows“. The sample consisted of 82 respondents. The research was conducted following the ethical principles. Results of the research. Results of the study showed that respondents knowledge regarding COVID-19 disease were very good, because its maximal score was 1, and the average calculated score for the respondents was 0,82 (value of the standard deviation was 0,09). Knowledge of the male and female respondents concerning the COVID-19 disease differed significantly (p0,05). Conclusion. The military medical doctor assistants’ knowledge regarding COVID-19 disease were very good. Their job satisfaction during the pandemic period was average. No statistically significant correlation between the military medical doctor assistants’ knowledge regarding COVID-19 disease and their job satisfaction were found

New and highly advanced technologies, robotics, virtual reality, artificial intelligence and so on are constantly penetrating the healthcare system. The nurse these days seeks to examine the practice carefully and to evaluate it critically and consider it well. The importance of leadership is identified as part of a well-functioning or emerging health care system. The provision of services to patients and the satisfaction of their needs with the services of a nurse are influenced by various factors of the health care system, such as the attention paid to the sick person, the satisfaction of his or her needs and needs. The more the patient’s needs are met, the greater the job satisfaction the nurse feels

Effects of groundwater inputs to the hydraulic circulation, water residence time, and salinity in a Moroccan Atlantic Lagoon /

The finite element model SHYFEM was used to study the hydrodynamics and variability of water level, salinity, temperature, and water residence time (WRT) in the Oualidia lagoon located on the Moroccan Atlantic coast. The lagoon hosts a RAMSAR convention-protected area and also offers a set of valuable ecosystem services providing the source of income for the local population. To assess the effects of submarine groundwater discharge (SGD) inputs in the study area, four simulations were set up using different SGD inputs estimates in addition to tidal forcing, bathymetry, meteorological data including solar radiation, rain, and wind, in addition to boundary conditions in the Atlantic such as salinity, water level, and water temperature. The model was calibrated and validated using hydrodynamic measurements of previous studies in 2012 and 2013. The final results from the model are in good agreement with measured data. The simulation with SGD input ~0.05 m3 s−1 produced salinity values closest to the observed ones. Calculated spatial distribution of WRT, temperature, and salinity reduced to coordinates in two PCA axes is consistent with lagoon zones developed earlier using the benthic macroinvertebrate distribution. The calculated spatial distribution of WRT allowed us to evaluate the placement of oyster aquaculture farms and small-scale fisheries in relation to water quality issues existing in the lagoon

Mapping and assessing commercial fisheries services in the Lithuanian part of the Curonian Lagoon /

The spatial distribution of biomass of main commercial fish species was mapped to estimate the supply of a provisioning fishery service in the Curonian lagoon. Catch per unit effort (CPUE) was used as a proxy to estimate the efficiency of commercial fishing and, subsequently, the potential biomass of fishes. The relationship between distinctive characteristics of the fishing areas and corresponding commercial catches and CPUE was analyzed using multivariate analysis. The total catch values and CPUE used in the analyses were derived from the official commercial fishery records. RDE analysis was used to assess the variation of both catch and CPUE of commercial fish species, while the percentages of bottom sediment type coverage, average depth, annual salinity, and water residence time in each of the fishing squares were used as explanatory variables. This distance e-based redundancy analysis allowed for the use of non-Euclidean dissimilarity indices. Fisheries data spatial distribution map indicated the lack of coherence between the spatial patterns of commercial catches and CPUE distribution in the northern part of the lagoon. Highest CPUE values were estimated in the central-eastern part of the lagoon as compared to the western part of the lagoon where CPUE values were substantially lower. Both total catch and CPUE appeared not to be related to the type of bottom habitats statistically while being spatially correlated in-between. However, the impact of salinity and water residence time calculated using the 3D hydraulic circulation model on the distribution of both CPUE and commercial catches was statistically significant

The general decline in labor market engagement among young people has continued in the past years. That is partly because young people are spending more time in education, which is helping ensure that the future labor force will be better skilled and able to cope with the transformations in the world of work brought about by new technologies. However, it also reflects a significant degree of labor under utilization as approximately one-fifth of young people worldwide are not in employment, education, or training. Other challenges requiring a strong policy response include persisting gender gaps in the labor market, the prevalence of informal employment, which affects more than three-quarters of young workers, and working poverty, which affects almost one-third. The fact that millions of young people worldwide would emigrate permanently, if they had a chance, highlights the urgent need for policy-makers to tackle the labor market barriers and precarious conditions at work faced by young people in many countries

The behaviour of travellers in the transition to responsible tourism: the case of the Baltic sea region /

    No full text
Changes in travellers’ behaviour are among the most significant issues in the recent revolution of the tourism industry. The perception of perceived value and quality lead to rethinking priorities and choices while travelling. The purpose of the article is to analyse the expression of travellers’ behaviour orientation towards the key elements of responsible tourism in the countries of the Baltic Sea Region. The findings of quantitative research, which has been carried out in the form of survey, reveal that the behaviour of travellers of the Baltic Sea Region confirms that responsible tourism has become a way of thinking. The transition to responsible tourism is primarily driven by tourism destination-related elements and the strength of the impact related to maintaining the quality of life of local people, redistributing the benefits of tourism for travel destinations, enhancing the value and distinctiveness of the travel destination product, and maintaining long-term attractiveness, within the capacity of the travel destination and efficient use of its tourism resources. It may be the direction towards more sustainable and responsible future of traveling

Food sources for benthic grazers in trophic networks of macrophyte habitats in a transitional Baltic ecosystem /

In this study, we provide insights into that characteristics of two sites representing different conditions of productivity and salinity impact on trophic network structures of macrophyte habitats and diet of benthic grazers at the active vegetation period in the Curonian Lagoon (southeastern Baltic Sea). Regarding the epiphytic growth, macrophytes were more overgrown in the relatively less productive (northern) site with a muddy bottom and more frequent marine water inflow than in the (southern) site with higher productivity and freshwater sandy habitat. Stable isotope analysis revealed that organisms’ samples from the northern site were more enriched with the heavier carbon isotopes, but depleted in the heavier nitrogen isotopes than those from the southern site. Gastropods and amphipods mainly consumed sedimentary organic matter in the southern site, while they grazed epiphytes together with sedimentary organic matter in the northern site. Although to a low extent, gastropods consumed more charophytes than pondweeds in the southern site. This study contributes to a better understanding of the functioning and structure of lagoonal systems, highlighting the importance, often overlooked, of the benthic compartment, which, however, may have a relevant influence on the productivity of the whole system

The aim of the work: to analyze the preconditions for the enablement of patients in dental clinics Methods. The instrument used in the study was the Patient Enablement Questionnaire (PEI) and supplementary questions on oral issues. The Patient Enablement Scale (PEI) is 'much better / more' (2 points), 'better / more' (1 point), 'same or less' (0 points) and 'not applicable to me' (0 points). therefore, the total score ranges from 0 to 12. 1 Klaipėda City Private Dental Clinic and 1 Palanga City Private Dental Clinic participated in the study. A total of 370 patients including those who came for their first visit and those who came for a consultation were interviewed at the clinic. Response rate - 92.5 percent. Statistical analysis was performed using the statistical program package SPSS / w 20.0 and Excel 2010. Arithmetic means of ranks were calculated (m). The chi-square (χ2) criterion was calculated to test the hypotheses about the distribution of the variable in the population. The Mann-Whitney U test was used to compare the means of the ranking variables of the two independent samples. A nonparametric Spearman rank correlation coefficient (r) was calculated to find the relationships and determine the strength of the relationship between the variables. Significance levels of statistical conclusions used: p> 0.05 - insignificant. Results. An evaluation of patients who visited the dental clinic for consultation found that women were more likely to seek endodontic treatment and oral hygiene, while men were most likely to seek dental surgery and prosthetics. A very statistically significant difference was found between the sex and age of patients visiting the dental clinic - the average enablement score of female and younger patients was higher than male and elderly patients (p <0.05). The average of patient’s empowerment in the dental clinic strongly correlated with dental implantation (r = 0.855) same with irregular occlusion. (r = 0.823). Sufficient time prescribed by the doctor increases the enablement of patients (0.820, p <0.001) and nothing interferes with the doctor during the consultation. Conclusions. Patient enablement is enhanced by sociodemographic factors such as gender, age, education, sufficient time allotted by the physician, and the fact that nothing interferes with the physician during the consultation. Enablement also depends on whether patients are well acquainted with the doctor they visit and those who expected and received the prescription. Enablement also depends on patients ’oral problems and issues related to oral health
