    No full text
Previous research has investigated how religious commitment relates to mental health and well-being through correlational studies and latent variable models. However, few studies have employed a network analysis approach to examine the reciprocal interactions among these variables. Consequently, this study utilizes network analysis to assess the connections between religious commitment, mental health, and well-being among Muslims in Indonesia, refers to data from the fifth Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS 5) carried out in 2014-2015. For our analysis, we focused on the Muslim population and included only those who identified as Muslim. With this criteria, we obtained a total sample of 28,392 individuals. EBICglasso network model display node religiosity (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with restless (mental health problem), effort (mental health problem), and trouble (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with life satisfaction (well-being), happiness (well-being), and lonely (mental health problem). on the other hand, node prayer (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with lonely (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with economic status (well-being), health status (well-being), and fearful (mental health problem). Nodes pengajian (religious commitment) had a direct negative association with trouble (mental health problem) and had a direct positive association with effort (mental health problem), and could not (mental health problem). In conclusion, a bidirectional influence between religious commitment, mental health and well-being should be considered

This research aims to analyze the fundraising strategy employed by LazisNU South Metro through the KOIN NU initiative, which focuses on the infaq socialization system. It also explores the supporting and inhibiting factors related to this movement. The study utilizes a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, gathering data through observation, interviews, and documentation. Qualitative data analysis encompasses several stages, including data reduction, data presentation, and the drawing of conclusions/verification. This process systematically organizes, simplifies, presents, and interprets the data to uncover meaningful insights and relevant patterns. The findings highlight two critical points. First, the success of this program is contingent upon effective planning that incorporates specific targets, thorough socialization, and transparent management practices. Regular briefings aimed at motivating field officers and fostering community participation are also essential. Second, systematic supervision and active donor involvement enhance transparency and accountability. Nevertheless, challenges persist, such as a lack of dedicated managers and administrators who are not sufficiently focused on the program's management. Addressing these challenges is crucial for improving overall effectiveness

Leadership remains a debated topic within Islamic discourse, particularly concerning the role of women. This discussion is significantly shaped by traditional interpretations of the Qur'an, which often place women in subordinate positions. This article aims to examine how KH. Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim offers an inclusive interpretation of women's leadership based on Surah al-Naml, verses 41–44. The study employs a qualitative method alongside a descriptive-analytical approach, with data collected through observation and note-taking from five videos across four accounts featuring presentations by KH. Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim. The analysis uses Teun A. Van Dijk's discourse analysis theory, which focuses on three key aspects: text, social cognition, and social context. The findings indicate that traditional leadership roles are largely portrayed as favoring men, who are anticipated to be responsible and just, as revealed through textual analysis. The social cognition analysis investigates how KH. Ahmad Bahauddin Nursalim’s interpretation responds to the rising visibility of women in leadership, shedding light on Sharia-based legal perspectives regarding female leadership. Furthermore, in the social context dimension, he contends that women can assume leadership roles as long as they uphold moral boundaries and act justly. The study also highlights the crucial role of social media in disseminating contemporary religious discourse and shaping public reactions to Qur'anic reinterpretations in the digital age

The basis and strategies of gender mainstreaming in Islamic education: A conceptual review

ABSTRACT Purpose − This paper seeks to articulate the foundations and strategies for gender mainstreaming within Islamic education. This topic is urgent, as gender inequality in education continues to be a significant issue today. Furthermore, Islam is frequently viewed as contradictory to the principle of gender equality due to its textual interpretations of the Quran and hadith, which serve as primary sources for Muslims. Method − The researchers conducted a qualitative literature review of various texts related to Islamic education, aiming to gather insights from Muslim philosophers regarding the foundations of gender mainstreaming in education. Data collection involved techniques such as active listening and note-taking. The analysis of the data was carried out in three phases: reduction, presentation, and inductive conclusion Findings − Based on the analysis conducted, it is clear that Islam actively supports gender mainstreaming efforts in education to foster social justice and equality. Islam does not differentiate between men and women in terms of their opportunities to acquire knowledge and become exemplary individuals, or khalifatullah fi al-ardh (stewards of the earth). Muslim philosophers endorse gender equality in education both implicitly and explicitly, with no philosophers advocating for discrimination against either gender in the pursuit of quality education. To effectively implement gender mainstreaming in Islamic education, the following strategies should be adopted: (1)  Emphasize the importance of allowing students the freedom to choose their fields of study. (2) Foster collaboration between the state and society—through influential organizations or figures—to advance gender mainstreaming in education. (3) Establish a school environment that is rooted in principles of gender equality. (4) Develop educational practices and school management that are sensitive and responsive to gender considerations. (5) Encourage the government, particularly the Ministry of Religious Affairs, to create model or pilot schools that exemplify gender equality and can serve as examples for replication. (6) Provide intensive training and seminars focused on gender issues for educators within both the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs

    No full text
Religion plays a crucial role not only in shaping individual and group behavior but also in influencing governance structures and economic performance. Many countries incorporate religion into their constitutions, with some adopting official state religions as the foundation of governance, thereby creating theocratic states. This study aims to explore the relationship between religion and state governance, as well as the relationship between religion and economic performance, based on the classification of countries by religion. The data for this analysis is sourced from the World Bank and the Pew Research Center. It encompasses GDP per capita figures for 133 countries for the years 1990 and 2022, along with estimates of the global population by religion in 2050, derived through a cohort-component technique. A descriptive and comparative approach is utilized to explore the relationship between religion, governance, and the economic performance of these nations. This study finds that countries with an official state religion, supported by strong governance and prudent resource management, tend to achieve better economic outcomes, as evidenced by higher GDP per capita levels. Conversely, countries with weak governance or without clear religious support often experience economic stagnation. The findings recommend the importance of integrating religious values into inclusive and sustainable development policies

Token Economy in Improving Discipline of Al-Quran Education Park Students

    No full text
The Quran Education Park (TPQ) plays a vital role in accustoming children's behavior to become moral individuals with Koranic character and making the Al-Quran their guide for life. However, the results of field observations show that the discipline of students at TPQ is low. One way to foster discipline in children is by giving consequences as extrinsic reinforcement for their behavior; one form of reinforcement is the token economy. This research aims to determine the influence of the token economy on improving TPQ students' discipline. This research uses a quantitative approach with experimental research methods; the sample is 20 children, and data analysis uses the Paired Sample t-test technique. The results of the paired sample t-test are 0.000 < 0.05, which shows the significant influence of implementing the token economy in improving the disciplinary attitudes of TPQ students. Apart from that, there was an increase in the average score between the pre-test and post-test of 4.30
