Nilai-Nilai Psikologi Religius dalam al-Qur’an dan Relevansinya terhadap Pembentukan Karakter Santri

This study explores the values of Qur’anic religious psychology and their relevance to character formation among students (santri) at Pondok Pesantren Hidayatul Mubarok, Central Lampung, Indonesia. Amidst the moral crises affecting today’s youth, the Qur’an is viewed as a comprehensive source of spiritual-psychological guidance. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, the study integrates field research and library analysis, using a thematic (mawḍū‘ī) tafsir method to identify psychological values embedded in Qur’anic verses. The findings reveal that Qur’anic concepts such as ṣabr (patience), ikhlāṣ (sincerity), tawakkul (trust in God), shukr (gratitude), and khauf–rajā’ (fear–hope balance) significantly contribute to shaping students’ ethical and emotional maturity. In the pesantren setting, these values are internalized through structured religious learning, moral habituation, and the exemplary conduct of teachers. Activities such as sorogan and bandongan foster both cognitive and affective development, while the pesantren’s environment reinforces discipline and spirituality. The study concludes that religious psychological values derived from the Qur’an play a fundamental role in cultivating akhlāq al-karīmah (noble character) among santri and offer an integrative model of character education rooted in Islamic tradition

Konsep Akhlak Mulia dalam Tutur Kata Menurut Tafsir Al-Azhar: Sebuah Pendekatan Etika Komunikasi dan Maqāṣidī

This study explores the concept of noble character (akhlāq karīmah) in verbal communication based on Tafsir al-Azhar by Buya Hamka, employing a thematic (mawḍū‘ī) approach to Qur'anic interpretation. The research addresses the increasing degradation of ethical discourse in Indonesia's public sphere, particularly in digital and political contexts. By analyzing key Qur'anic verses—such as QS. Al-Baqarah [2]:83, QS. Al-Isrā’ [17]:53, and QS. Al-Ḥujurāt [49]:12—alongside Hamka’s commentary, this paper highlights the integrative ethical framework within Islamic communication. The findings demonstrate that Buya Hamka emphasizes three core principles: honesty, kindness and politeness in speech, and linguistic accuracy in social interactions. These values are linked to the higher objectives of Islamic law (maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah), particularly hifẓ al-nafs (protection of life), hifẓ al-‘aql (protection of reason), and hifẓ al-‘irdh (protection of dignity). Furthermore, the study incorporates contemporary sociological and communicative theories to contextualize Hamka's interpretations, showing their continued relevance in fostering moral discourse in today’s society

The author discussed sapiosexuality as a phenomenon that needs to be studied further in the context of sex education. This topic is very current and needs to be discussed more scientifically. The author hopes that through this paper, it can give special consideration to being able to include the discussion of sapiosexuals in the context of formal, informal, and non-formal education. In addition, further researchers are expected to be able to link sapiosexuality with the well-established theory of multiple intelligences. In conclusion, it can be concluded that sapiosexuality is one of the most interesting discussions to be discussed further in the implementation of sexual education in various education sectors, because it is very relevant to the current situation and developments. Despite the controversy and criticism that still occurs in the field, the topic of sapiosexuality will continue to grow stronger by the day. It is evident that currently psychological instruments have been developed to measure this, and there have been quite several scientific studies targeting it. So hopefully, this theory about sapiosexuality can be more scientifically trusted in the future

Neuroinflammation in the Pathogenesis of Psychiatric Disorder

The mechanism of psychiatric disorders biologically has not been fully explained. The development of the pathogenesis of various diseases lately can be explained through the theory of inflammation. The theory of inflammation that may be related to the pathogenesis of psychiatric disorders is the kynurenine theory. From this kynurenine theory, the author tries to construct the mechanism of psychiatric disorders such as those that occur in cases of anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, insomnia to psychosomatic cases and epilepsy. From the various courses of psychiatric disorders, the author concludes that the mechanism of the occurrence of various psychiatric disorders is actually the same, but in the end, what distinguishes the occurrence of certain types of psychiatric disorders is the genetic factor of each individual who experiences it. It is essential to understand the mechanisms underlying psychiatric disorders from a biological perspective, as this knowledge serves as a foundation for managing such conditions, particularly through the use of psychopharmacological treatments and other adjunctive therapies

Adolescent mental health is a growing concern, with increasing cases of mental disorders among teenagers. Peer counseling has proven effective in emotional support, highlighting the need for well-trained peer counselor trainers. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a Training of Trainers (ToT) program in enhancing future peer counselor trainers' self-efficacy and emotional regulation skills. The two-day training consisted of five interactive sessions covering peer counseling theory, active listening techniques, emotional regulation strategies, and practical counseling exercises. A total of 10 psychology students from Universitas Indonesia participated. Evaluation using the General Self-Efficacy Scale (GSES) and Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (ERQ) showed a significant increase in self-efficacy, cognitive reappraisal strategies, and a reduction in expressive suppression. Qualitative analysis also indicated that participants felt more confident and better managed emotions in group dynamics. These findings suggest that the ToT program effectively equips future peer counselor trainers. Further research is recommended to expand the program’s implementation and assess its long-term impact in school setting

Islamic education plays a vital role in shaping the personality and civilization of its adherents; however, it is currently grappling with an epistemological and methodological crisis that creates a divide between religious knowledge and general knowledge. Rigid and non-contextual educational approaches further contribute to the stagnation of the Islamic education system. This study adopts a qualitative approach, utilizing a literature review method to gather and analyze both primary and secondary sources related to human freedom from the perspective of Islamic education. A descriptive analytical method is employed both deductively and inductively to achieve a deeper understanding of the topic. The focus of the study is on Fazlur Rahman's ideas concerning the integration of knowledge, curriculum reform, and the transformation of teaching methodologies. Rahman argues for an Islamic education that transcends mere rituals, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and social engagement. He advocates for the integration of *tarbiyah* (moral education) and *ta'lim* (the teaching of knowledge), alongside enhancing teacher capacity and proficiency in foreign languages to expand access to knowledge. Rahman's concepts align well with the principles of the 2013 Curriculum, which emphasizes thematic, integrative, and student-centered learning. This article offers a conceptual framework based on Rahman's insights as a viable solution to the epistemological crisis and serves as a reference for the development of integrative, contextual, and adaptive Islamic education

This article explores the educational patterns prevalent during the period of al-Khulafā' al-Rāsyidūn, highlighting the values and methodologies of that time, which may serve as a framework for tackling modern educational challenges, particularly in the context of globalization. The research is prompted by the critical issue of diminishing spiritual and moral values amidst the rapid changes brought about by globalization. The goal of this study is to delineate the educational approaches of the al-Khulafā' al-Rāsyidūn and assess their relevance in addressing contemporary educational challenges. This research utilizes a qualitative methodology grounded in a literature review, drawing data from primary sources (including the Al-Qur'an, hadith, and classical Islamic texts) as well as secondary sources (such as academic journals, scholarly books, and recent studies related to the subject). The findings indicate that the educational framework during the al-Khulafā' al-Rāsyidūn period encompasses not only spiritual and moral growth but also practical and holistic elements. This includes strengthening faith, fostering moral character, and mastering knowledge, alongside enhancing the role of mosques as centers for learning. These insights contribute significantly to the development of a contemporary Islamic education model that is adaptive, distinctive, and pertinent to addressing the moral and identity crises faced by today’s Muslim generation

Higher education exit exams and labor market readiness: A systematic review

Purpose − Exit exams are a critical component of higher education systems worldwide, serving as a benchmark for assessing students' readiness for graduation and professional practice. However, the relationship between exit exams and labor market readiness remains underexplored. This systematic literature review aims to examine the role of exit exams in preparing students for the labor market, focusing on their impact on employability, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Method − Using the PRISMA framework and PICO strategy, the researcher conducted a comprehensive search across multiple databases, identifying relevant studies published between 1994 and 2024. The PRIMA framework followed identification, screening, eligibility and inclusion stages. The PICO framework was used to structure the research questions by breaking them down into four components: Population, Intervention, Comparison, and Outcome. The review synthesizes findings from 31 studies, highlighting the dual role of exit exams as both a motivator for academic achievement and a source of labor market preparedness. Findings − The results indicate that while exit exams can enhance educational outcomes, their impact on labor market readiness is influenced by a variety of factors, including the alignment of exam content with industry needs, the level of support provided to students, and the cultural context in which the exams are administered. The discussion section delves into the implications of these findings for educational policy and practice, suggesting strategies to enhance the labor market readiness of graduates. This review underscores the need for a balanced approach to exit exams that prioritizes both academic rigor and career preparedness
