Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is an aggressive though potentially curable lymphoid malignancy requiring timely treatment initiation. We investigated the impact of individual socioeconomic status and home area-level (ecological) factors on the diagnosis-to-treatment interval (DTI) in DLBCL patients, focusing on extreme delays in a French real-world cohort (REALYSA). We analyzed patients with newly diagnosed DLBCL in the multicentric prospective cohort. DTI was defined as a duration in days between diagnosis confirmation and first-line therapy. Short and long DTIs (10th percentiles) were compared to intermediate DTI using multinomial models to identify factors associated with extreme DTIs. Socio-demographic data (including sex, education, employment, marital status, social support (SSQ6-score)…) and ecological characteristics (French deprivation index, local accessibility to general practitioners) were considered. Among 889 newly diagnosed DLBCL patients (median age 66 years, 49 % with aaIPI ≥1, 35 % with B-symptoms, 33 % with bulky disease), median DTI was 25 days (interquartile range: 15-39 days). The 10th- and 90th-percentile for extreme DTIs were 50 days respectively. In multivariable analysis, factors associated with short DTI included aaIPI (OR=3.03, CI95 %[1.44-6.41]), bulky disease (OR=3.06, CI95 %[1.68-5.58]), and B symptoms (OR=2.35, CI95 %[1.30-4.25]) - indicating expedited treatment for aggressive presentations. Conversely, factors associated with long DTI included older age (OR>80 y = 3.31, CI95 %[1.39-7.89]), being a blue-collar worker or farmer (OR=2.36, CI95 %[1.18-4.73]), or changing type of treatment facility between biopsy and initial treatment. In this large real-world cohort of newly diagnosed DLBCL patients, age, occupational status, and patients' pathway were linked to very long delays to treatment. Interventions to streamline DTIs, especially for older and/or blue-collar or farmer patients, and for those changing facility of treatment, are warranted to improve quality of care
Unveiling the behavioural significance of the Aterian coarse-grained lithic assemblages: Insights from use-wear analysis of Rhafas Cave, Northeast Morocco
Recent discoveries have shown that Homo sapiens has a Pan-African origin, and North Africa has been an important region for the development and expansion of its biological and cultural traits. Early manifestations of Homo sapiens complex behaviour in North Africa are tied to the emergence of the Aterian culture around 150 ka BP. The Aterian repertoire includes stone, bone, and ivory tools, vegetal, animal and marine remains, as well as pigment and perforated shells for symbolic expressions. Within this cultural package, investigating the typo-technological variability observed in the stone tool assemblage is crucial to better understanding the emergence and development of Homo sapiens behaviour. However, the latter can only be fully reconstructed when complemented with the study of the tools’ function.Use-wear studies on Aterian lithics are very limited including coarse-grained materials despite their abundance in several Aterian sequences. This study presents the results of the use-wear analysis on the quartzite assemblage from the Aterian sequence of Rhafas cave. A use-wear experimental reference collection was created, against which the diagnostic use-wear on archaeological artefacts was compared. Sequential experiments demonstrated the dynamic performance and suitability of quartzite tools when subjected to mechanical stress during working of different materials.The analysis of the archaeological assemblage, guided by the experimental reference collection, revealed diagnostic use-wear associated with wood and bone working.In sum, our study shows the suitability, and the complementary role of quartzite tools in the technological versatility of the Aterian groups

AOP "All Makers": An Innovative Pedagogical Approach at the Coh@bit FabLab for Hands-on Training in Design and Prototyping
The Coh@bit FabLab, located at the University Institute of Technology in Bordeaux, is an innovative digital fabrication space that supports experiential learning through collaborative projects. By incorporating advanced resources such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and computer-aided design (CAD) software, the FabLab provides an active learning environment for its users, ranging from students to community participants. This paper introduces the "AOP All Makers" teaching modules, designed to foster both technical and transferable skills in design and rapid prototyping. The teaching approach, including the use of digital documentation tools and the outcomes of project evaluations, are analyzed to highlight the benefits and challenges of the program for both in-person and remote learners

MSpangepop: Simulating complex structural variants under advanced demographic scenarios using the coalescent
BackgroundStructural variants (SVs) — large genomic changes such as insertions, deletions and inversions —are known to significantly contribute to genetic variation. Despite their impact on phenotypic diver-sity and adaptation, they remain relatively understudied [1]. The recent emergence of variationgraphs provides an efficient way to integrate these large variants in population and pangenomestudies, capturing the full genomic landscape of genes within clades.Simulating genomes is essential for evaluating analytical methods and improving genetic studies byproviding controlled datasets for testing hypotheses. Although several programs exist to simulateSVs genome-wide (e.g. [2]), none are able to account for complex evolutionary scenarios such asspeciation events, resulting in unrealistic star-like locus genealogies. On the other hand, coalescent-based simulators such as MSprime [3], which can simulate a wide variety of ancestry and demo-graphic models, do not currently support the simulation of large and complex SVs.ResultsTo fill this gap and allow biologists to directly produce simulated variation graphs, we developMSpangepop, a Python-based simulation workflow inspired by VISOR [2] and managed by Snake-make [4]. Starting with a reference sequence and a demographic scenario, MSprime [3] simulatesthe coalescent of each locus (i.e. recombination block) of the genome. Each coalescent tree is thentraversed lineage by lineage in order to chronologically map SVs simulated from a large panel ofclasses, allowing for complex nested variants. A coalescent-aware variation graph is thus progres-sively constructed and written to a Graphical Fragment Assembly file (GFA). For greater flexibility,genome sequences and alignments can also be generated directly as FASTA files.ConclusionMSpangepop allows biologists to simulate variation graphs under realistic demographic models for avariety of purposes, including benchmarking and simulation-based inferences. Future developmentsinclude the simulation of transposable elements and the modulation of the mutational landscape toaccount for genomic features like ORFs

OBJECTIVES: This study was conducted in order to determine whether food insecurity is associated with poor mental health outcomes among PLHIV in Togo and Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa. DESIGN: Cross-sectional study among participants enrolled in the International epidemiological Databases to Evaluate AIDS West Africa cohort. METHODS: The Household Food Insecurity Access Scale was used to measure food insecurity. The PHQ-9, GAD-7, PCL-5, and AUDIT-C instruments were used to assess depressive symptoms, anxiety symptoms, symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and harmful alcohol use, respectively. Logistic regression was used to identify factors associated with poor mental health outcomes. RESULTS: Among 584 participants (68.8% female, median age 52 years), nearly half (48.1%) were food insecure; 7.0% were mildly food insecure, 26.7% were moderately food insecure, and 14.4% were severely food insecure. Severe food insecurity [OR 2.63 (1.30-5.34)] and being widowed [OR 2.15 (1.07-4.30)] were associated with moderate-to-severe depressive symptoms and formal education was protective [OR 0.30 (0.15-0.61)]; there was a trend towards an association between severe food insecurity and moderate-to-severe anxiety symptoms [OR 2.14 (0.98-4.70)] and formal education was protective [OR 0.35 (0.18-0.71)]; severe food insecurity [OR 6.87 (2.89-16.38)] and being widowed [OR 3.55 (1.46-8.59)] were associated with PTSD; mild food insecurity [OR 2.74 (1.20-6.26)] and male sex [OR 11.58 (5.44-24.68)] were associated with high risk alcohol use. CONCLUSIONS: Food insecurity is associated with poor mental health outcomes among PLHIV in Togo and Côte d'Ivoire, West Africa. Future studies to understand and address the causal links between food insecurity and mental health among PLHIV are warranted
