Rhodanine-pyridinium derivatives 10a-q were designed and synthesized based on reported cholinesterase (ChE) inhibitors and evaluated as potent anti-Alzheimer's disease agents. The in vitro anti-ChE activity of the title compounds was evaluated against two main forms of this enzyme: acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE). The obtained in vitro results showed that all the synthesized derivatives were more potent than positive control tacrine against AChE. Moreover, most of the new synthesized compounds were more potent than tacrine against BChE. Among the synthesized compounds, compound 10p was the most potent compound against AChE and compound 10f was the most potent compound against BChE. In vitro kinetic study demonstrated that compounds 10p and 10f were competitive inhibitors against AChE and BChE, respectively. Both these compounds had a 4-CF3 substituent on phenyl ring of benzyl pyridinium moiety. Docking study on compounds 10p and 10f demonstrated that these compounds with favorable binding energies in comparison to tacrine attached to the active sites of AChE and BChE. Molecular dynamics simulations were performed on the 10p-AChE and 10f-BChE complexes to gain deeper insights into the behavior of these compounds in the active sites of target enzymes.Tehran University of Medical Sciences [1403-3-221-73931]This work was financially supported by the Tehran University of Medical Sciences with grant number of 1403-3-221-73931

On duals of certain types of sequence spaces of complex uncertain variable

    No full text
Uncertainty theory has significantly advanced and expanded over the past ten years. In this article, we introduce the notions of uncertain alpha-dual, uncertain beta-dual and uncertain gamma-dual of complex uncertain sequence spaces. Convergence and boundedness of complex uncertain sequences are taken in the sense of almost surely due to B. Liu and then few characterizations of the newly introduced uncertain dual spaces are established. Furthermore, our goal is to propose and establish inclusion relations within these sequence spaces

    No full text
This study aims to deal with the new ontological searches that have begun to emerge in the field of philosophy in general terms and, in particular, to reveal how the object-oriented ontology view, which is one of these movements, differs from these movements. For this purpose, first of all, the general outlines of the new materialism, speculative realism, speculative materialism movements, which are called new ontological pursuits, and their differences with classical philosophy will be discussed. Afterward, the object-oriented ontology, which can be considered within these movements, and the views of Graham Harman, who is at the basis of this idea, will be focussed on. While discussing Harman's views, the main focus will be on his conception of the new object, which is claimed to be the main difference that distinguishes him from the other ontological movements mentioned above, and the concept of metaphor he proposes to know this object

Effect of Heat Treatment and Electrochemical Potential on Tribocorrosion Behavior of High-Strength Low-Alloy Ship Mooring Chain Steel

    No full text
Steels are widely used in the maritime sector and many industries, and are expected to have different mechanical properties and high strength depending on the place of use. In addition to these features, they are also expected to have extraordinary resistance in different environments. One of these environments is the seawater environment, an environments where corrosive effects are pretty high. Equipment used in these environments is expected to be resistant to such conditions. This study examined the tribocorrosion properties of S355J2 + AR steel, whose mechanical properties were changed by two different heat treatments and which is used for fastening ships and different marine equipment in the open sea. It has been observed that the corrosion resistance of Grade 3 chain, which has better mechanical properties, is lower than that of Grade 2 quality steel. In test environments with only mechanical effects, Grade 3 material with high wear resistance was exposed to more wear in the tribocorrosive condition. In cathodic state tests, adhesive wear such as plowing and grooves, which are purely mechanical wear effects, were observed. In the anodic case, corrosion due to anodic dissolution was detected. According to EDS analysis, Cl elements that have a corrosion-enhancing effect on the wear surface were observed for both steel grades.Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK); Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit of Bartimath;n University, Turkiye [2023-FEN-CY-001]Open access funding provided by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkiye (TUBITAK). The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of gamified e-learning-supported instruction on students' self-efficacy perceptions in computer programming, their attitudes toward programming, and their classroom engagement. The study was conducted during the 2023-2024 academic year in a science high school located in the northwestern region of Turkey, with the participation of 60 voluntary 9th-grade students from two different classes. In the study, students in the experimental group received both traditional classroom instruction and gamified e-learning support, whereas students in the control group were taught solely through traditional classroom instruction. The study employed a mixed-methods research design. Quantitative data were collected using the Computer Programming Self-Efficacy Scale, the Attitudes Toward Programming Scale, and the Classroom Engagement Inventory. Qualitative data were obtained through a face-to-face interview form. After the groups were randomly assigned as experimental and control groups, pre-tests were administered to both groups. At the end of the study, post-tests were applied to both groups, and face-to-face interviews were conducted with the experimental group using the developed interview form. The e-learning platform used in the study was the Education Informatics Network (EBA), developed by the Ministry of National Education in Turkey. Before the six-week experimental phase, the gamification framework was introduced to the experimental group during a one-week, face-to-face session in their classroom. Throughout the experimental phase, weekly activity announcements were made via EBA, along with lesson materials, videos, and topic-based tests for the students to engage with. Weekly leaderboards were created based on the scores obtained by students, and those meeting specific criteria were awarded badges developed by the researcher. Each week, the top 10 students on the leaderboard were announced, and at the end of the study, the top participants across all activities were recognized with badges and points. The results of the study indicate that gamified e-learning support did not lead to statistically significant differences in students' attitudes toward programming or their classroom engagement. However, it significantly improved their self-efficacy in programming. This study demonstrates the experimental effects of gamified e-learning support in addressing challenges faced in programming education. Furthermore, it is suggested that this research could provide a model for gamification in other subjects within the EBA system under teacher supervision
