Jakarlı Numune Dokuma Makinesi Tasarımı, Prototip İmalatı ve Güvenlik Analizi
Bu çalışmada, tekstil endüstrisinin Ar-Ge ihtiyaçları ve eğitim kurumlarının uygulamalı eğitim gereksinimleri için elektronik jakarlı numune dokuma makinesi tasarlanmış ve prototip imalatı gerçekleştirilmiştir. 192 kancalı elektronik jakar modülleri kullanılan prototipte, her kancaya 5 harniş bağlanarak maksimum 67,5 cm dokuma eni elde edilmiştir. Makine tasarımında TS EN ISO 12100:2010 standardı kapsamında kapsamlı risk değerlendirmesi yapılmış, mekanik ve elektronik güvenlik önlemleri alınmıştır. Geliştirilen prototip, yurtdışı menşeli benzer makinelere göre düşük maliyet avantajı sunarken, 785W elektrik tüketimi ile ekonomik işletme koşulları sağlamaktadır. Sistem tasarımı, kanca sayısının ve dokuma eninin müşteri taleplerine göre modifiye edilebilmesine imkan vermektedir. Ticarileşebilir nitelikte olan prototip, tekstil endüstrisinin Ar-Ge çalışmalarına ve eğitim kurumlarının uygulamalı eğitimlerine katkı sağlayabilecek özelliktedir
Comparison of AI-Generated and Instructor Feedback: No Significant Difference in Perceived Feedback Quality and Neither on Performance
Background Feedback is an essential part of the educational process as it enriches students' learning experiences, provides information about their current performance, shows them what is lacking in achieving goals, and provides guidance on the strategies needed to achieve those goals. Teachers, especially in crowded classrooms, often have difficulty allocating enough time to provide feedback. ChatGPT has the potential to deliver feedback more efficiently and effectively. Objective This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of ChatGPT-generated feedback in students' project proposal development process. Therefore, ChatGPT-generated and instructor's feedback are compared in terms of perceived feedback quality and performance of students. Method In the study, a post-test control group experimental design was used. A total of 48 students enrolled in a blended course at a state university participated in the study for 6 weeks. The study was conducted using a randomised post-test-only control group experimental design. Students were asked to prepare a project proposal and feedback was given on each task. While the control group received instructor feedback, the experimental group received ChatGPT feedback. Data were collected via the Formative Feedback Perceptions Scale, and the students' project proposals were graded based on the rubric to evaluate their performance. Results and Conclusion According to the Mann-Whitney U test analysis, there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental and the control group regarding both students' perceived feedback quality and performance. In conclusion, it can be argued that when guided by the appropriate prompts and asked to examine assignments of similar complexity to those in this study, ChatGPT can provide feedback of similar quality and equivalence to the feedback provided by instructors. In this way, it seems possible to improve students' learning as much as an instructor with individualised feedback by ChatGPT. Finally, it should be noted that these findings are within the limitations of the specific context of project proposal development, reliance on self-reported data, and the experimental nature of the study; it is recommended to evaluate the effectiveness of AI-generated feedback in different contexts
Development of Mardin Stone-Based Shape-Stabilized phase change material concretes for sustainable thermal energy storage in buildings
Heat-based energy storage systems play a vital role in optimizing energy management in buildings by efficiently storing excess thermal energy and releasing it when needed, thereby reducing energy consumption and enhancing sustainability. Among thermal energy storage methods, phase change material (PCM) applications are at the forefront, offering energy absorption and release capabilities through building envelopes. With its natural porosity and thermal stability, Mardin stone is a sustainable and energy-efficient base material for composite applications, enhancing heat storage capacity and promoting eco-friendly construction solutions. This study presents an innovative approach by integrating shape-stabilized PCM (SSPCM) into concrete, utilizing a novel combination of natural and sustainable materials for energy-efficient building systems. By combining Mardin stone (MS) with Lauryl alcohol (LAOH), the composite was tested in various ratios (25-100 wt%) to evaluate its thermal, physical, and mechanical properties. The MS/LAOH composite exhibited a melting temperature of 19.95 degrees C, reduced thermal conductivity by 13.19 %, and decreased compressive strength by 6.1 MPa. Thermoregulation tests demonstrated up to a 1.81 degrees C reduction in daytime room center temperatures and a 0.93 degrees C increase in nighttime temperatures. Furthermore, integrating MS/LAOH reduced emissions of 33.68 kg CO2m(-2)year(-1) and annual cost savings of $4.80m(-2). These findings highlight the potential of composites to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact in buildings, contributing to zero-energy goals
Examination of the relationship between athletes' imagery use and their mindfulness levels
Araştırmanın temel amacı, sporcuların imgeleme kullanım durumları ile bilinçli farkındalık düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmaya Bartın Üniversitesi'nde öğrenim görmekte olan 235 sporcu dahil edilmiştir. İlişkisel tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilen bu araştırmada verilerin toplanması adına üç ayrı form kullanılmıştır. Bunlar; "Kişisel Bilgi Formu", "Sporda İmgeleme Ölçeği" ve "Sporcu Bilinçli Farkındalık Ölçeği". Veri toplama araçlarıyla elde edilen ham verilerin analiz süreci SPSS (26. versiyon) yazılımında sürdürülmüştür. Bu süreç içerisinde tanımlayıcı istatistiklerin yanı sıra bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve pearson korelasyon testlerinden faydalanılmıştır. Verilerin analizi neticesinde katılımcıların bilinçli farkındalık puanlarında öğrenim görülen bölüm, sınıf, milli sporcu olma durumu, yaş ve spor yaşı gibi demografik özelliklere bağlı anlamlı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Sporda imgeleme puanlarında ise cinsiyet, öğrenim görülen bölüm, sınıf, milli sporcu olma durumu, yaş ve spor yaşı gibi demografik özelliklere bağlı anlamlı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Son olarak ölçek alt boyutları arasında pozitif yönlü ilişkilerin olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bir diğer ifadeyle sporcuların imgeleme puanlarının artışına paralel olarak bilinçli farkındalık puanlarının da arttığı tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak bu verilere bağlı olarak sporcuların imgeleme kullanım durumları ile bilinçli farkındalık düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönlü ilişki olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Sporcu, imgeleme, bilinçli farkındalık.The main purpose of the study is to examine the relationship between athletes' imagery usage and their conscious awareness levels. For this purpose, 235 athletes studying at Bartın University were included in the study. In this study conducted in the relational screening model, three separate forms were used to collect data. These are; "Personal Information Form", "Imagery in Sports Scale" and "Athlete Conscious Awareness Scale". The analysis process of the raw data obtained with the data collection tools was carried out in SPSS (version 26) software. In this process, descriptive statistics as well as independent sample t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Pearson correlation tests were used. As a result of the data analysis, significant results were obtained in the participants' conscious awareness scores depending on demographic characteristics such as department, class, national athlete status, age and sports age. In the sports imagery scores, significant results were obtained depending on demographic characteristics such as gender, department, class, national athlete status, age and sports age. Finally, it was determined that there were positive relationships between the sub-dimensions of the scale. In other words, it was determined that the conscious awareness scores of the athletes increased in parallel with the increase in their imagery scores. As a result, depending on these data, it was concluded that there was a positive relationship between the imagery use of the athletes and their conscious awareness levels. TÜRKİYE'DEKİ ÇEVRE KRİZLERİNE SOSYAL HİZMET PERSPEKTİFİNDEN YENİ BİR BAKIŞ: YEŞİL PROTOKOLLER
Environmental pollution has emerged as an inevitable outcome of rapid industrialization and urbanization in modern societies, posing serious threats to both environmental sustainability and social well-being. This issue disproportionately affects poor and disadvantaged communities. Green social work aims to offer innovative and community-based solutions to these problems by addressing environmental justice within a broader ecological framework. This approach considers environmental challenges not only as ecological but also as social issues. Therefore, the role of social workers in mitigating the social and environmental impacts of pollution is becoming increasingly crucial. This article explores the significance of green social work in tackling environmental pollution, its strategic approaches, and the importance of establishing local green social work units. The findings indicate that social workers raise environmental awareness through media, arts, education, and community engagement, advocate for environmental justice, and that the creation of green social work units offers an effective model for developing sustainable solutions.Çevre kirliliği, modern toplumlarda sanayileşme ve kentleşmenin doğal bir sonucu olarak ortaya çıkmakta ve hem çevresel sürdürülebilirliği hem de toplumsal refahı tehdit etmektedir. Bu sorun, özellikle yoksul ve dezavantajlı gruplar üzerinde daha büyük etkiler yaratmaktadır. Yeşil sosyal hizmet, çevresel adalet kavramı çerçevesinde bu sorunlara topluma dayalı ve yenilikçi çözümler sunmayı hedefler. Bu yaklaşım, çevreyle ilgili sorunları sadece ekolojik değil, aynı zamanda sosyal bir mesele olarak da ele alır. Bu nedenle, sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının çevre kirliliğinin etkilerini azaltma konusundaki rolü her geçen gün daha kritik hale gelmektedir. Bu makalede, yeşil sosyal hizmetin çevre kirliliğiyle mücadeledeki önemi, kullanılan stratejiler ve yerel düzeyde kurulması önerilen yeşil sosyal hizmet birimlerinin rolü incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda, sosyal hizmet uzmanlarının medya, sanat, eğitim ve yerel iş birlikleri yoluyla çevresel farkındalık yarattığı, çevre adaleti için savunuculuk yaptığı ve yeşil sosyal hizmet birimlerinin kurulmasının sürdürülebilir çözümler geliştirmede etkili bir model sunduğu belirlenmişti
Variation in strobilus and cone production in clonal seed orchards of Anatolian black pine
Anatolian black pine [Pinus nigra Arnold subsp. pallasiana (Lamb.) Holmboe] is an economically and ecologically important forest tree species with a natural distribution of 4.2 million ha, 32% of which is unproductive due to forest fire and other damages in Turkish forestry. The species is widely used in afforestation and conversion ofunproductive forests by deploying genetically improved seed from seed orchards because of high adaptation capability to various environmental conditions, and a target species of national tree breeding programme of Anatolian black pine. Estimated variation in reproductive characters can be used as an important guide for managing of seed orchards. The number of cones, female and male strobili were studied in three seed orchards established in 1991, 1993 and 1985 composed of 30, 30 and 34 clones each. Five grafts of each clone were evaluated from each seed orchard for three consecutive years (2022-2024). This study estimated the variation of broad-sense heritability (H2) and the correlation among cone and strobili production at the graft and clone level. Positive and significant (p<0.05) relations were calculated between female and male strobili within year in all orchards both ramet and clone levels, together with significant (p<0.05) relations among years for cone productions in the orchards. Significant (p<0.05) differences were found for the characters among clones and among years within orchard. Year x clone and clone x ramet interactions were generally significant (p<0.05) for the characters. Female strobili seemed a good predictor for cone production. However, the heritability in broad sense was mostly on average below 0.5 for the characters in each seed orchard except of female strobili in an orchard in year-24. Testing the Information Distortion Model for Turkish Students' Self-Concept and Interest in Science
The information distortion model (IDM) explains the relationship between socioeconomic status (SES) and students' interest or self-concept by considering achievement. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the IDM of Turkish middle school students' academic interest and self-concept in science by considering the big-fish-little-pond effect (BFLPE). Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) 2019 data and multilevel modeling analyses were used to achieve the aims of the current study. Three models were tested for each construct (self-concept and academic interest). The first model used a random comparison; in the second model, a comparison was made by considering the achievement of the students and in the third model, a comparison was made by considering school achievement. The findings of the students' academic interest in science confirmed the IDM for model 2 and 3; on the other hand, surprisingly, regarding self-concept, only model 1 confirmed the IDM. Furthermore, the BFLPE was noticed in both self-concept and academic interest in science
New Perspectives on Generalised Lacunary Statistical Convergence of Multiset Sequences
This paper explores the concepts of J-lacunary statistical limit points, J-lacunary statistical cluster points, and J-lacunary statistical Cauchy multiset sequences. Building upon previous work in the field, we investigate the relationships between J-lacunary statistical convergence and J*-lacunary statistical convergence in multiset sequences. The findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the convergence behaviour of multiset sequences and provide new insights into the application of ideal convergence in this context
Performance degradation of crystalline silicon solar cells under bremsstrahlung exposure
This study investigates the degradation of crystalline silicon (c-Si) solar cells under high-energy polyenergetic Bremsstrahlung radiation, relevant to space and high-radiation terrestrial environments. Cells were irradiated with doses up to 900 Gy using a clinical linear accelerator (cLINAC). Results demonstrate significant dose-dependent performance loss, with the power conversion efficiency (eta) decreasing by approximately 7.6 % at the highest dose of 900 Gy. This degradation was driven mainly by reduced short-circuit current density (J sc ) and increased recombination. External quantum efficiency (EQE) measurements confirmed substantial losses at longer wavelengths, indicating bulk defect generation. Capacitance and conductance analyses revealed the accumulation of deep-level traps and interface states, further elucidating the degradation mechanisms. These findings highlight the vulnerability of c-Si solar cells to Bremsstrahlung exposure and provide critical insights for developing radiation-hardened photovoltaic technologies
Production, characterization and investigation of thermal energy regulation properties of foam concretes with diatomite/capric acid composite
Faz değiştiren malzemeler (FDM), ortam sıcaklığına bağlı olarak enerjiyi depolayabilir ya da serbest bırakabilir. Bu nedenle, yapı malzemelerinde FDM kullanımı, yapıların enerji verimliliğini artırmak ve termal konforunu iyileştirmek açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu tez çalışmasında, gözenekli bir forma sahip olan diatomit destek materyali olarak kullanılmış ve kaprik asit (KA) ile direkt emdirme işlemine tabi tutulmuştur. Uygulanan sızıntı testleri neticesinde, diatomitin en fazla kütlece %50 oranında KA emebildiği belirlenmiştir. Hazırlanan diatomit/KA kompoziti kütlece %15, %20, %25 ve %30 olmak üzere dört farklı oranda kuma ikame olarak köpük beton karışımına dahil edilmiştir. Termal analiz sonuçlarına göre, diatomit/KA kompozitinin erime ve donma sıcaklıkları ile erime ve donma entalpi değerleri sırasıyla 28,73 ?C ve 28,49 ?C ile 101 J/g ve 193 J/g olarak tespit edilmiştir. Diatomit/KA miktarının artışına bağlı olarak su emme ve görünür gözeneklilik değerleri artarken yayılma çapı ve kuru birim ağırlık değerlerinde azalma meydana gelmiştir. Termal iletkenlik ve basınç dayanım değerleri ise diatomit/KA miktarının artışına bağlı olarak azalma göstermiştir. Kütlece %30 diatomit/KA katkılı köpük beton numunesi için en yüksek su emme, görünür gözeneklilik ve basınç dayanım değerleri sırasıyla %25,9, %34 ve 6,31 MPa olarak ölçülmüştür. Termal iletkenlik değerleri ise 0,495-0,241 W/mK aralığında değişim göstermiştir. Termoregülasyon test sonuçları; kütlece %30 diatomit/KA katkılı köpük beton plakanın yüzey ve ortam sıcaklıklarında önemli miktarda bir azalma (serinleme) sağlarken, gece vakitlerinde de ısıtma yükünün azaltılmasına katkı sağlayabileceğini göstermektedir.Phase change materials (PCM) can store or release energy depending on the ambient temperature. Therefore, the use of PCM in building materials is of great importance in terms of increasing the energy efficiency and improving the thermal comfort of buildings. In this thesis, diatomite, which has a porous form, was used as support material and subjected to direct impregnation with capric acid (CA). As a result of the applied leakage tests, it was determined that diatomite could absorb CA at most 50% by weight. The prepared diatomite/KA composite was included in foam concrete mixture as a sand substitute at four different ratios of 15%, 20%, 25% and 30% by weight. According to thermal analysis results, melting and freezing temperature; melting and freezing enthalpy values of diatomite/KA composite were determined as 28.73 ?C ve 28.49 ?C ile 101 J/g ve 193 J/g, respectively. Depending on increase in amount of diatomite/CA, water absorption and apparent porosity values increased, while the spreading diameter and dry unit weight values decreased. Thermal conductivity and compressive strength values decreased depending on the increase in amount of diatomite/CA. For foam concrete with 30% diatomite/CA, the highest water absorption, apparent porosity and compressive strength values were measured as 25.9%, 34% and 6.31 MPa, respectively. Thermal conductivity values varied in the range of 0.495-0.241 W/mK. Thermoregulation test results show that foam concrete slabs with 30% diatomite/CA composite provide a significant reduction (cooling) in surface and ambient temperatures and can contribute to the reduction of heating at night
