    Possible future scenarios for teacher education in Turkey (20 years ahead: 2043)

    Araştırmanın amacı Türkiye'de öğretmen eğitiminde olası gelecek senaryolarının belirlenmesidir. Bu çerçevede şu sorulara cevap aranmıştır. Öğretmen eğitiminde öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi açısından gelecek senaryoları nelerdir? Öğretmen eğitiminde alan bilgisi açısından gelecek senaryoları nelerdir? Öğretmen eğitiminde genel kültür bilgisi açısından gelecek senaryoları nelerdir? Öğretmen eğitiminde eğitim felsefeleri açısından gelecek senaryoları nelerdir? Öğretmen eğitiminde eğitim fakültesi dışına verilen pedagojik formasyon eğitimi açısından gelecek senaryoları nelerdir? Bu çalışma nitel bir çalışma olup fenomenolojik bir desenle tasarlanmıştır. Elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak Türkiye'de Öğretmen Eğitiminde Olası Gelecek Senaryoları (TÖE-GELSE) anketi oluşturulmuş ve veriler online olarak toplanmıştır. Türkiye'de öğretmen eğitimine ilişkin gelecek senaryoları…olursa…sonuç(lar) ortaya çıkar" kalıbından hareket edilerek öğretmen eğitimine ilişkin olası gelecekler öngörülmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırmanın katılımcıları, belirli bir olguya dair deneyime sahip bireyler arasından, amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak seçilmiştir. Araştırma grubunu 68 farklı eğitim fakültesinde görev yapan 375 öğretim elemanı oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada, öğretmen eğitiminde öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi, alan bilgisi, genel kültür bilgisi, eğitim felsefeleri ve eğitim fakültesi dışına verilen pedagojik formasyon eğitimi açısından gelecek senaryoları belirlenmiştir. Öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi açısından, "Öğretmenlik meslek bilgisi dersleri, alanında uzman kişiler tarafından ve ciddi bir şekilde verilmezse, bu durum toplumun tüm meslek alanlarını olumsuz etkileyecektir." senaryosu birinci sırada öne çıkan senaryo olmuştur. Alan bilgisi açısından, "Alan bilgisi dersleri içerik açısından doyurucu olarak verilirse, öğretmenliğin öğretim gücünü artıracaktır." senaryosu birinci sırada öne çıkmıştır. Genel kültür bilgisi açısından, "Genel kültür dersleri, öğretmenlik mesleğinin gerektirdiği çocuğu sevme, hoşgörülü olma, disiplin sağlama, doğru düşünmeyi öğrenme, mantık yürütme, araştırmacı olma gibi beceriler üzerine kurulursa, öğretmen adayları kendilerini geliştirecektir." senaryosu birinci sırada öne çıkmıştır. Eğitim felsefeleri açısından, "Öğretmen eğitimi ve siyaset birbirinden ayrılırsa, sürdürülebilir ve kalıcı bir öğretmen eğitimi modeli uygulanır; böylelikle öğretmenliğin kalitesi ve saygınlığı artacaktır." senaryosu birinci sırada öne çıkan senaryo olmuştur. Eğitim fakültesi dışına verilen pedagojik formasyon eğitimi açısından ise, "Pedagojik formasyon eğitimi dersleri sıradan bir sertifika dersleri gibi verilirse, öğretmenlik saygınlığını kaybedecektir." senaryosu birinci sırada öne çıkmıştır. Araştırmada, öğretmen eğitiminin farklı boyutlarında öne çıkan senaryoların analiziyle birlikte, eğitim politikaları ve uygulamaları için rehberlik edebilecek bir çerçeve sunulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırmada ortaya çıkan sonuçların, öğretmen eğitiminin kalitesini artırmak için gelecekte yapılacak düzenlemelere ve stratejik planlamalara katkı sağlaması önerilmektedir.The aim of the research is to identify possible future scenarios in teacher education in Turkey. In this framework, answers to the following questions were sought. What are the future scenarios in terms of teaching professional knowledge in teacher education? What are the future scenarios in terms of content knowledge in teacher education? What are the future scenarios in terms of general cultural knowledge in teacher education? What are the future scenarios in terms of educational philosophies in teacher education? What are the future scenarios in terms of pedagogical formation education given given to the people who are not from the faculty of education in teacher education? This study is a qualitative study designed with phenomenological method. The qualitative data obtained were analysed by descriptive analysis. Possible Future Scenarios in Teacher Education in Turkey (TÖE-GELSE) questionnaire was developed as a data collection tool. Based on the pattern 'if future scenarios in teacher education in Turkey...happen...result(s) will emerge', possible futures about teacher education were tried to be predicted. The participants of the study were selected among individuals who have experience with a particular phenomenon by using purposive sampling method. The research group consisted of 375 academic staff working in 68 different education faculties. In the research, future scenarios were determined in terms of teaching professional knowledge, content knowledge, general cultural knowledge, educational philosophies and pedagogical formation education given to the people who are not from the faculty of education. In terms of teaching professional knowledge, the scenario 'If teaching professional knowledge courses are not given by experts in their fields and in a serious way, this situation will negatively affect all professional areas of the society.' was the scenario that came to the fore in the first place. In terms of content knowledge, the scenario 'If the content of the content knowledge courses is satisfactory in terms of content, it will increase the teaching power of teaching.' came to the fore in the first place. In terms of general culture knowledge, the scenario 'If general culture courses are based on the skills required by the teaching profession such as loving children, being tolerant, providing discipline, learning to think correctly, reasoning, and being a researcher, prospective teachers will improve themselves.' came to the fore in the first place. In terms of educational philosophies, the scenario 'If teacher education and politics are separated from each other, a sustainable and permanent teacher education model will be implemented; thus, the quality and prestige of teaching as profession will increase.' was the most prominent scenario. In terms of pedagogical formation education given to those who are not from the faculty of education, the scenario 'If pedagogical formation education courses are given as ordinary certificate courses, teaching will lose its prestige.' came to the fore in the first place. This research provides a framework that may guide educational policies and practices by analysing the scenarios in different dimensions of teacher education. In this context, it is suggested that the results of the study will guide future regulations and strategic planning to improve the quality of teacher education

    Effect of Lemon Oil Nanoemulsion and Heat Treatment on Physical Properties and Lipid Quality Parameters of Fish Meat During Storage

    In this study, raw and steamed fish (SF) (Oncorhynchus mykiss) samples treated with lemon oil nanoemulsion (LON) were examined. Four groups were designated: raw fish (RF), raw fish treated with LON (RFL), SF, and steamed fish treated with LON (SFL). Changes in the physical properties and lipid quality parameters of fish samples were monitored over 30 days of storage at 4 degrees C +/- 2 degrees C following vacuum packing. The dl-limonene compound, a major component of lemon oil, was detected at a concentration of 75.49%. The LON exhibited a zeta size (ZS) of 197.067 nm, a polydispersity index (PDI) of 0.217, and a zeta potential (ZP) of -3.56 mV. Regarding color characteristics, L* whiteness value, -a greenishness, and +b yellowness values of the nanoemulsion showed a decrease by the end of storage. In all sample groups, except for the L* value in the SFL group, a general trend was observed in which L* increased, a* decreased, and b* increased compared to Day 0 at the end of storage. During storage, thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) and free fatty acid (FFA) values remained within acceptable limits for consumption across all groups throughout storage. In conclusion, the application of LON without heat treatment had a positive effect on pH levels. Conversely, when applied to heat-treated fish meat, the nanoemulsion improved the L* value, TBARS, FFA, and overall lipid quality parameters, with the exception of polyene index (PI).Practical applications: Essential lemon oil possesses sensory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties. From a sensory perspective, the practical use of freshly squeezed lemon juice on fish meat is widely preferred by consumers. Inspired by this culinary practice, the effects of lemon oil nanoemulsion at a nanoscale on certain quality characteristics of both raw and thermally treated fish meat were investigated. In thermally treated fish meat, the lemon oil nanoemulsion positively influenced color parameters, notably enhancing the brightness (L*) value, as well as markedly improving overall lipid quality indicators. Conversely, the thermal treatment itself adversely affected the pH values of fish meat.     Objectives: Yassin’s poetry reveals him to be an Islamic thinker and a valuable source of contemporary Islamic thought. He established a divine methodology in line with scholars such as Hujjat al-Islam Imam al-Ghazali and Sheikh Abd al-Wahhab Al-Sha'rani. This study investigates Yassin's poetry and the Sufi divine method as a model for the purification and elevation of the soul. This approach is evident throughout Yassin's writings, with particular emphasis on his book Al-Ihsan. Methods: A deductive analytical approach was used to examine Yassin's writings on purification, thoroughly uncovering the underlying meaning, foundational principles, and essential components of the Qur'anic and prophetic methods as expressed in his poetry. Results: The findings reveal that Yassin adopts and demonstrates a Qur'anic approach in his writings. His concept of purification goes beyond self-discipline and spiritual elevation, encompassing resistance to colonialism and opposition to oppressors and unjust rulers. These principles are rooted in Qur'anic commands and the Sunnah. Conclusions: Abd al-Salam Yassin's approach to purification was rooted in Qur'anic and prophetic methods. He emphasized the teachings of the Holy Qur'an and the Sunnah, choosing to replace the term "Sufism" with "Tazkiyah" or "Ihsan" to better align with Qur'anic and Sunnah teachings. He acknowledged that the term "Sufism" has been a source of controversy among different sects

    Antecedents of eWOM communication among users of mobile food ordering applications

    With the rapid progress of digitalization and the increasing use of social media, understanding the mechanisms that drive electronic word of mouth (eWOM) is crucial for businesses wishing to form a positive image and formulate an effective development strategy. The study aims to identify the factors behind consumers' intention to generate and disseminate eWOM. The catering industry, as one of the most susceptible to the impact of eWOM, was chosen as the research area. Using the case of mobile food ordering applications (MFOAs) viewed as innovative channels to reach customers and provide quality service, the paper analyses the role of four factors - trust, eLoyalty, eSatisfaction and perceived value - in stimulating eWOM communication among MFOAs users. Marketing theory constitutes the methodological framework of the study. The research methods are structural equation modelling and confirmatory factor analysis. Empirical data were obtained from a survey conducted with 579 MFOA users between January and June 2023 in Turkey. The results indicate that trust, eLoyalty, and eSatisfaction variables have a significant and positive impact on eWOM. Additionally, it was found that perceived value does not have a significant impact on eWOM. It was concluded that MFOAs users must have trust, eLoyalty and eSatisfaction in order to create positive eWOM, which ultimately results in an increase in the apps popularity. Business managers in the restaurant industry can benefit from the findings to manage brand reputation effectively and understand competitive advantages and consumer behaviour

    Integrated energy, advanced exergy, environmental, and enviroeconomic assessment of azeotropic and zeotropic refrigerants in vapor compression refrigeration systems

    This study presents a comprehensive and original evaluation of CFC, HCFC, HFC, and HFO-type refrigerants using energy, exergy, advanced exergy, environmental, enviroeconomic, and total equivalent warming impact (TEWI) analyses within a single integrated framework. While previous studies have typically focused on limited refrigerant categories or used only one type of evaluation method, this research combines advanced exergy analysis with TEWI and enviroeconomic assessments to examine performance, environmental impact, and economic cost together. This combination allows the study to identify where system improvements are possible, to measure total environmental impact over the system's lifetime, and to estimate the related environmental costs in one consistent approach. The refrigerants were selected based on their historical significance, current applications, and future potential, ensuring a broad and relevant analysis. R-12 is included as a benchmark to highlight the efficiency and environmental trade-offs associated with older refrigerants. R-410A and R-32, widely used in modern air-conditioning systems, are analyzed to assess their performance and sustainability. Additionally, R-513A, an HFO-based alternative with lower global warming impact, is evaluated for its potential to replace high-GWP refrigerants while maintaining efficiency. The results reveal that R-12 achieves the highest coefficient of performance (COP) at 3.525 and the lowest exergy destruction rate (1.505 kW), with only a slight margin from other refrigerants. R-410A exhibits the highest exergy destruction rate (1.781 kW), more than half of which is avoidable (55.05%). Enviroeconomic analysis identifies R-513A (66.47 kg-1) as the most cost-effective option, closely followed by R-32 (78.53 kg-1). TEWI analysis highlights R-32 (70,152 kgCO2-eq) as the refrigerant with the lowest environmental impact, slightly outperforming R-513A (72,280 kgCO2-eq). However, the system operating with R-513A requires 50% more refrigerant charge than R-32. This integrated approach provides a clearer and more complete basis for selecting sustainable refrigerants by linking performance results with environmental and economic considerations

    Investigation and kinetic study of TGO growth behavior in high-entropy alloy coating systems

    In this study, AlCoCrFeNiTi and AlCoCrFeNiZr high-entropy alloys (HEA) developed for high temperature applications were applied as topcoats of the coating system by atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) process, while CoNiCrAlY bond coats were coated by high velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF) technique. As a result of isothermal oxidation tests performed in the range of 1000 degrees C-1200 degrees C, both HEA systems were found to be resistant to oxidation. The rate constant (Kp) and activation energy (Q) values obtained at 1200 degrees C were calculated as 0.1090 mu m2/h/224.6 kJ/mol for AlCoCrFeNiTi and 0.1174 mu m2/h/230.2 kJ/mol for AlCoCrFeNiZr, respectively. The findings reveal that the growth kinetics and microstructural evolution of the TGO layer directly affect the oxidation-induced degradation behavior of composite coating systems.     Development and psychometric analysis of the traumatic childbirth perception scale in men

    This study aimed to develop the Traumatic Childbirth Perception Scale for men and to examine its psychometric properties. This methodological study was conducted in three stages. Participants included all men aged 18 and older who consented to participate. Ethical approval was obtained. In the first stage, 512 participants were included, with 255 participants and 257 participants in the second stage. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) was conducted in the first stage using Sample 1 data. Following the analysis in the first stage, data were collected for Sample 2. Discriminant Function Analysis (DFA) was performed on the Sample 2 data. Considering that perceptions of traumatic birth in men might vary according to marital status, Sample 2 data were analyzed in three groups: single, married, and all participants. Data collection was conducted online via Google Forms. The research instruments included a Participant Information Form, a draft version of the Traumatic Childbirth Perception Scale for Men, and the Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Short Scale as an equivalent scale. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses were used for validity analysis. Reliability coefficients were calculated using Cronbach's alpha and parallel test reliability coefficients. The developed scale consisted of 23 items and four sub-dimensions (anxiety, trauma, privacy, and comfort). The Cronbach's alpha internal reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.868, and the reliability coefficients of the sub-dimensions ranged from 0.602 to 0.851, indicating good reliability. In the second stage of the Traumatic Childbirth Perception Scale for Men, the first-level factorial structure of the scale (x 2 (221, N = 257) p < 0.000; x 2/sd = 1.578; CMIN:348.87; RMSEA = 0.048; CFI = 0.931; GFI = 0.900) showed excellent fit across the entire sample.     Synthesis, Anti-enzymatic Appraisal, In Silico, and SAR Analysis of 5-Aryl/Heteroaryl-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione Derivatives

    A sequence of new 5-aryl/heteroaryl-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione derivatives were synthesized by condensing Meldrum's acid and triethyl orthoformate with differently substituted aromatic and heteroaromatic amines in good to excellent yields. The chemical structures were characterized by spectroscopic techniques and the synthesized entities were evaluated for chymotrypsin and urease inhibition. Interestingly, among the synthesized derivatives, compound containing 5-nitropyridin-2-yl ring exhibited dual inhibition activities with IC50 value (8.67 +/- 0.1) close to the control (Chymostatin:8.24 +/- 0.11) against chymotrypsin; and (29.21 +/- 0.98) close to the control (Thiourea:21.25 +/- 0.15) urease in mu M concentration. Further, molecular docking analysis was performed on the 3D crystal structure of Jack bean urease protein and a serine proteinase alpha-chymotrypsin with synthesized ligands, to observe the binding interactions. All the synthesized compounds docked well into the active sites of the proteins, the most active compound showed H-bonding interaction with amino acid HIS A 594 residue through carbonyl oxygen of dioxane ring and CME A 592 through oxygen of nitro group against 3La4 urease protein, while against chymotrypsin, it revealed the hydrogen bonding between amino acids: SER C 217, GLY C 216, and SER C 190.     An Overview of Hemp Fiber Processing as Composite Reinforcement Material

    Kenevir bitkisi, yenilenebilir bir doğal kaynak olarak sahip olduğu fiziksel, kimyasal ve çevresel özelliklerle geniş bir kullanım alanı sunmaktadır. Bu çalışma, kenevir liflerinin fiziksel ve mekanik özelliklerini, kimyasal bileşimlerini ve farklı sektörlerdeki uygulamalarını incelemekte, aynı zamanda bu liflerden üretilen kompozit (karma) malzemelerin avantajları, dezavantajları ve çevresel etkilerine odaklanmaktadır. Kenevir lifleri, yüksek mukavemet, düşük yoğunluk ve biyobozunur özellikleriyle inşaat, otomotiv, havacılık ve tekstil gibi çeşitli endüstrilerde çevre dostu bir alternatif olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Kenevir tarımı, hızlı büyüme döngüsü, düşük su ve kimyasal ihtiyaçlarıyla ekolojik sürdürülebilirliği desteklemekte ve karbon ayak izini azaltmada önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Liflerin yüksek selüloz içeriği ve lignin yapısı, onları dayanıklı ve elastik malzemeler için ideal bir bileşen haline getirmektedir. Ancak, kenevir liflerinin standartlaştırılmasındaki zorluklar, su alma hassasiyeti ve nem etkisi, bu malzemelerin üretiminde teknik sınırlamalar yaratmaktadır. Bu zorlukların üstesinden gelmek için yüzey modifikasyon teknikleri ve enzimatik saflaştırma gibi yenilikçi yaklaşımlar geliştirilmektedir. Kenevir lifli kompozitler, düşük enerji tüketimi ve geri dönüştürülebilir yapıları sayesinde sürdürülebilir üretim süreçlerine önemli katkılar sağlamaktadır. Kompozitler yoluyla kenevir liflerinin sentetik malzemelerle birleştirilmesi, hafif ve yüksek performanslı malzeme çözümleri sunarak otomotiv ve havacılık gibi sektörlerde kullanım alanını genişletmektedir. Ayrıca, kenevir liflerinin termal ve akustik yalıtım özellikleri, enerji verimliliğini artırmakta ve özellikle yapı sektöründe sürdürülebilir çözümler sunmaktadır. Kenevir lifleri, çevresel etkilerin azaltılmasında, enerji verimliliğinin artırılmasında ve döngüsel ekonominin desteklenmesinde stratejik bir malzeme olarak dikkat çekmektedir. Bu araştırma, kenevir liflerinin potansiyelini ve bu doğal kaynağın geleceğin çevre dostu malzemelerinden biri olarak sahip olduğu rolü detaylı bir şekilde ele almayı amaçlamaktadır. Gelecekte, lif kalitesinin standartlaştırılması, yeni üretim tekniklerinin geliştirilmesi ve kompozitlerin performans optimizasyonu gibi alanlarda yapılacak araştırmalar, kenevir liflerinin endüstriyel uygulamalardaki kullanımını daha da artıracaktır.The hemp plant, as a renewable natural resource, offers a wide range of applications due to its physical, chemical, and environmental properties. This study examines the physical and mechanical properties of hemp fibers, their chemical composition, and their applications in various industries, while also focusing on the advantages, disadvantages, and environmental impacts of composite materials produced from these fibers. Hemp fibers stand out as an eco-friendly alternative in industries such as construction, automotive, aerospace, and textiles due to their high strength, low density, and biodegradable properties. Hemp cultivation supports ecological sustainability with its rapid growth cycle, low water and chemical requirements, and plays a significant role in reducing carbon footprints. The high cellulose content and lignin structure of the fibers make them an ideal component for durable and elastic materials. However, challenges in standardizing hemp fibers, moisture sensitivity, and water absorption create technical limitations in their production. Innovative approaches such as surface modification techniques and enzymatic purification are being developed to overcome these challenges. Hemp fiber composites contribute significantly to sustainable production processes due to their low energy consumption and recyclable nature. The combination of hemp fibers with synthetic materials in composites offers lightweight and high-performance material solutions, expanding their use in sectors such as automotive and aerospace. Additionally, the thermal and acoustic insulation properties of hemp fibers enhance energy efficiency, providing sustainable solutions, particularly in the construction sector. Hemp fibers are gaining attention as a strategic material for reducing environmental impacts, improving energy efficiency, and supporting the circular economy. This research aims to explore the potential of hemp fibers and their role as one of the future's eco-friendly materials in detail. Future research in areas such as standardizing fiber quality, developing new production techniques, and optimizing the performance of composites will further expand the industrial applications of hemp fibers

    Türkiye'nin coğrafi işaretli yemekleri

    Coğrafi işaret, Antep Baklavası, Aydın İnciri ve Malatya Kayısısı gibi benzerlerinden farklı ve bu farkı özdeşleştiği yöreye borçlu olan ürünlerimizdir. Bu anlamda coğrafi işaretler belli bir kaliteyi ve gelenekselliği ifade eder, yöreden kaynaklanan değerlerin muhafaza edilmesini sağlar. Böylece atalarımızdan bize miras kalan milli ve kültürel değerlerimiz gelecek kuşaklara bozulmadan ve değerini kaybetmeden aktarılır. Coğrafi işaretlerin; pazarda ürünleri ayırt ederek pazarlama aracı olmak, yerel üretimi ve kırsal kalkınmayı desteklemek, turizme katkıda bulunmak, ürün taklitçiliği ile mücadele etmek ve kalite göstergesi olmak gibi işlevleri bulunmaktadır. Coğrafi işaretler özellikle kırsal kalkınmanın desteklenmesinde önemli bir role sahiptir. Coğrafi işaret ve geleneksel ürün adlarının tescili için resmi mercii Türk Patent ve Marka Kurumu (TÜRKPATENT) dur. Bu kitapta, Türkiye’de 70 ilde coğrafi işaret (Cİ) tescili almış-mahreç işaretli yemekler ve çorbalar yer almaktadır. Bu kitap, yüzyıllardır Anadolu topraklarında şekillenen ve kuşaktan kuşağa aktarılan zengin mutfak kültürümüzün bir yansımasıdır. Türkiye'nin dört bir yanından, 70 farklı yörenin coğrafi işaret tescili almış özgün yemek ve çorbaları, hem kültürel birer miras hem de yerel kimliklerin bir göstergesidir. Mahreç işareti taşıyan bu lezzetler, sadece damak tadına değil, aynı zamanda tarihi ve toplumsal belleğe de hitap eder.
