Bayram Yemeği Geleneği: Konat ve Sosyo-Kültürel Yansımaları
Bu araştırmada, Bartın ili Kurucaşile ilçesinde nesilden nesile aktarılan bir bayram yemeği geleneği olan konat ele alınmakta ve bu geleneğin sosyo-kültürel yansımaları, yerel kimlik ve sorumluluk dikkate alınarak değerlendirilmektedir. Bu bağlamda, kültürel miras özgünlüğü kapsamında konatın gelişim sürecine, hazırlık ve etkinlik aşamalarına yer verilmiştir. Bilgi sahibi olan 20 katılımcıyla 22-30 Ekim 2024 tarihlerinde yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yapılmıştır. Katılımcılardan elde edilen nitel veriler betimsel analizle yorumlanmıştır. Araştırma bulgularına göre asırlık bir gelenek olan konatın bayram yemeği geleneği olarak başlayan hikayesi, zamanla, yerel halkın yerel lezzetlerini gelen misafirlerle paylaştığı geleneksel bir etkinliğe dönüşmüştür. Gelecek nesillere aktarmak ve kültürel sürdürülebilirliği sağlamak için yerel halkın ve yerel yönetimin iş birliği gözeterek imece usulü konat geleneğine devam ettiği tespit edilmiştir. İlçede topluluk ruhunu güçlendirdiği anlaşılan bu etkinlikle, yerel halkın, yerel kimliği ve geçmiş değerlerini korumayı, kültürel değerlerini ve yerel lezzetlerini yeni nesile aktarmayı istedikleri ve sorumluluk hissettikleri belirlenmiştir. Somut olmayan kültürel miras kapsamında konat geleneğine farkındalık oluşturulması, geleneğin yerel kimlik ve sorumluluk bağlamında değerlendirilerek sosyo-kültürel yansımalarının araştırılması bu çalışmayı özgün kılmaktadır. Ayrıca, konat geleneğinin bir destinasyon çekim unsuru olarak ele alınabilirliğine ve Kurucaşile ilçesinin destinasyonlaşmasındaki rolüne yönelik değerlendirmelerin teorik ve pratik çıkarımların alana katkı sağlaması beklenmektedir
Enzymatic Synthesis and Functionalization of 2-Aminofluorene-Based Compounds with Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNT) for Enhanced Performance in Organic Solar Cells
This research focuses on the synthesis and characterization of 2-Aminofluorene (PAF)-based compounds for their potential application in organic solar cells (OSCs). We present a novel enzymatic approach to the synthesis of PAF, which incorporates multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) at varying concentrations to modify and enhance the structural, electrical, chemical, and optical properties of the PAF matrix. The resultant modified compounds were subsequently incorporated into the active layer of OSC devices. Comprehensive characterization techniques, including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and thermal analysis, were employed to evaluate the effects of MWCNT incorporation. Notably, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis revealed that PAF3 exhibited the highest melting point (Tm) at 155.60 °C, while PAF1 demonstrated the highest glass transition temperature (Tg) at 26.14 °C, indicating favorable thermal stability and processing characteristics for these materials. Additionally, the energy gap (Egap) was found to be lowest for PAF3 at 5.51 eV, compared to PAF1, which exhibited an Egap of 7.65 eV, suggesting improved charge transport properties for PAF3. The results demonstrated significant enhancements in the photovoltaic performance parameters of the OSCs, underscoring the beneficial role of MWCNTs in optimizing the properties of PAF-based materials for solar energy applications
Novel diazen-bis(phenoxy-1,2,3-triazole-N-phenylacetamide) derivatives as potent anti-cholinesterase, anti-?-glycosidase and anti-?-amylase agents: In vitro and in silico evaluations
In this work, new diazen-bis(phenoxy-1,2,3-triazole-N-phenylacetamide) derivatives 9a-n were designed, synthesized, and evaluated as acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) inhibitors that are two important targets in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD). These compounds were also evaluated against ?-amylase and ?-glycosidase because they were structurally similar to some inhibitors of these enzymes. In vitro evaluations demonstrated that, with the exception of ?-glycosidase, most of the new synthesized compounds showed significant inhibitory effect against the studied enzymes. In this regard, the most potent compound against AChE and BChE (compound 9 h) was around 2 times more potent than standard inhibitor (tacrine) against these enzymes. Moreover, the most potent compound against ?-amylase (compound 9i) was around 3.8 folds more potent than standard inhibitor (acarbose). Molecular modeling study demonstrated that these most potent compounds were attached to the active sites of the related target enzymes with the binding energies more favorable than used standard inhibitors. Furthermore, docking studies exhibited that compound 9 h interacted with both the catalytic anionic site (CAS) and the peripheral anionic site (PAS) of the binding sites AChE and BChE. These interactions are valuable to select a compound as the lead compound in the treatment of AD. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved
An Investigation of the Views and Experiences of Teachers Working With Visually Impaired Students With Multiple Disabilities on Distance Education
Bu çalışmanın amacı, görme yetersizliği olan çok engelli öğrencilerle çalışan öğretmenlerin uzaktan eğitimle ilgili deneyimlerini ve bakış açılarını kapsamlı bir şekilde anlamaktır. Bu çalışmada karma yöntem araştırmasının bir türü olan keşfedici sıralı desen kullanılmıştır. Bu amaçla, araştırmacılar veri toplamak için “Yarı Yapılandırılmış Görüşme Formu” “Demografik Bilgi Formu” ve “Uzaktan Eğitime İlişkin Görüşler Anketi” geliştirmiş ve kullanmışlardır. Araştırmanın ilk aşamasında, araştırmacılar yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler yoluyla nitel verileri toplamış ve bunların analizini gerçekleştirmiştir. İkinci aşamada, araştırmacılar, nitel analizin bulgularına dayanarak, nicel verileri toplamak için Uzaktan Eğitime İlişkin Görüşler Anketi'ni geliştirmiş ve nicel verileri toplamıştır. Çalışmanın nitel kısmında yedi öğretmen, nicel kısmında ise 40 öğretmen yer almıştır. Bulgular, çoklu yetersizliği olan görmeyen öğrencilerle çalışan öğretmenlerinin, çocukların yetersizlik düzeyleri, öğrencilerin internete erişimi ve uzaktan eğitim uygulamalarında teknoloji kullanımına ilişkin olumsuz deneyimler bildirdiklerini ortaya koymuştur. Öğretmenler bu zorlukların üstesinden gelmek için uyarlamalar yapmış ve aile desteğinden yararlanmıştır. Öğretmenler uzaktan eğitimde en çok ailelerinin desteğine ihtiyaç duyduklarını, bunun yanı sıra teknoloji kullanımı, internet ve altyapı desteği konularında eğitime ihtiyaç duyduklarını belirtmişlerdir. Uzaktan eğitimin etkili olabilmesi için ailelerin uzaktan eğitim konusunda eğitilmesi ve öğrencilerin gerekli internet ve dijital cihazlara erişiminin sağlanması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Anahtar kelimeler: öğretmen, bakış açısı, deneyim, görme yetersizliği olan çok engelli öğrenciler, uzaktan eğitim, karma yöntemThe objective of this study was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the experiences and perspectives of educators working with students with visual impairments and multiple disabilities regarding distance education. This study employed an exploratory sequential design, a type of mixed-methods research. To this end, the researchers developed and employed a “Semi-Structured Interview” form, a “Demographic Information Form”, and an “Opinions on Distance Education Questionnaire” for the purpose of data collection. In the initial phase of the study, the researchers gathered qualitative data through semi-structured interviews and conducted an analysis thereof. In the second stage, the research team developed the Opinions on Distance Education Questionnaire, a tool designed to collect quantitative data, based on the findings of the qualitative analysis. Subsequently, the team collected the requisite quantitative data. Seven teachers participated in the qualitative portion of the study, while 40 teachers took part in the quantitative phase. The findings revealed that teachers of visually impaired children with multiple disabilities reported unfavorable experiences pertaining to the children's disabilities, students' access to the Internet, and the utilization of technology in distance education practices. Teachers made adaptations and utilized family support to overcome these challenges. The teachers reported that they required the most support from their families in distance education, as well as training in the use of technology, the internet, and infrastructure support. They suggested that for distance education to be effective, families should be trained in distance education and students should have access to the necessary internet and digital devices. Return Level Prediction with a New Mixture Extreme Value Model
The generalized Pareto distribution is frequently used for modeling extreme values above an appropriate threshold level. Since the process of determining the appropriate threshold value is difficult, a mixture of extreme value models rises to prominence. In this study, mixture extreme value models based on exponentiated Pareto distribution are proposed. The Weibull, gamma, and log-normal models are used as bulk densities. The parameter estimates of the proposed models are obtained using the maximum likelihood approach. Two different approaches based on maximization of the log-likelihood and Kolmogorov-Smirnov p-value are used to determine the appropriate threshold value. The effectiveness of these methods is compared using simulation studies. The proposed models are compared with other mixture models through an application study on earthquake data. Hemp-Derived Iron Oxide Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications: Synthesis, Characterization, and Therapeutic Potential
Iron oxide nanoparticles (IONPs) have emerged as the most widely synthesized metal nanoparticles in sustainable chemistry due to their unique magnetic properties, excellent biocompatibility, biodegradability, and non-toxicity. In this study, IONPs are successfully synthesized via a rapid, sustainable, and environmentally friendly green synthesis approach using Cannabis sativa L. leaf extract. X-ray diffraction analysis determined that the synthesized NPs had an average particle size of 18.8 nm, while transmission electron microscopy images reveal a spherical morphology with sizes ranging from 12 to 21 nm. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy analysis confirmed the presence of cannabinoids, terpenoids, and flavonoids, which are believed to play a crucial role in the formation and stabilization of IONPs. Its photocatalytic potential is demonstrated through the degradation of bromophenol blue dye. Additionally, the NPs exhibited significant antibacterial and antifungal activity against various microbial species, along with promising anticancer effects on cancer cell lines. In conclusion, this study provides a promising foundation for advancing the large-scale, commercial production of IONPs through green synthesis methods. Islamic Family Law in Morocco: Historical Developments and Reforms
This research examines the historical trajectory and codification of Islamic family law in Morocco and analyses its transformation from indigenous and Islamic customs to a formalized legal framework shaped by colonial and postcolonial reforms. Moroccan family law was initially rooted in local customs and Maliki fiqh. During the French protectorate (1912-1956), colonial authorities restricted Shari'ah courts, prompting nationalist resistance that ultimately led to Morocco's independence and calls for legal reform. After Morocco gained independence, the first codified Islamic family law, Mudawwanat alahwal al-shakhsiyyah (1957), reflected conservative Islamic principles and ignited opposition from women's rights groups due to gender inequalities. Incremental reforms in 1993 adjusted some marriage and guardianship rules but fell short of achieving gender equality, prompting ongoing activism. Finally, under King Mohammed VI, significant changes culminated in the 2004 Mudawwanat al-usrah, an Islamic family law that improved women's rights by increasing the age for marriage, improving divorce rights, and requiring mutual responsibility in family leadership. However, Islamic family law retained aspects such as polygamy and unequal inheritance, blending traditional values with progressive reforms. Islamic family law marked a milestone in Morocco's legal and social modernization within an Islamic framework. This study highlights Morocco's approach to balancing Islamic heritage with social modernization and illustrates the complexities of integrating religious tradition with contemporary legal frameworks
Knowledge and behaviours of the operating room personnel regarding protection from ionising radiation
Introduction: Ensuring radiation safety in healthcare settings is crucial to minimising risks associated with ionising radiation exposure. This study aimed to evaluate the knowledge and behaviours of operating room personnel regarding protection from ionising radiation. Materials and methods: This cross-sectional correlational study was conducted with 100 surgical team members in two hospitals in Türkiye. Data were collected using the Demographic Information Form and Healthcare Professional Knowledge of Radiation Protection Scale. Results: The participants’ overall knowledge level regarding radiation protection was an average score of 5.09?±?2.35. A statistically significant difference was observed between the surgical team member role and the subscale of radiation physics, biology, and principles of radiation use (p?=?0.008), as well as the total scale score (p?=?0.025). The participants who had received training had significantly better knowledge and behaviours related to radiation protection (p?<?0.05). Conclusion: The surgical team members demonstrated an adequate level of awareness regarding radiation protection, but there were deficiencies in translating their knowledge into practice. Providing periodic training supported by interactive learning methods can reinforce the radiation safety practices of healthcare professionals. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved
Expectations, Conflict and Communication in a Regional Development Project: Investigating the Participation and Attitudes of Non-Governmental Organizations as Stakeholders in Turkey
Studies indicate that stakeholder participation in sustainable development (SD) practices is insufficient. Despite this global observation, the national and contextual characteristics of this phenomenon have received little attention. Based on qualitative data from thirty non-governmental organizations (NGO) representatives, we investigate this issue in a case study of an ongoing mega-regional project in Filyos, Turkey. The results indicate that the type and dynamics of the relationship between the government and NGOs significantly shape expectations and attitudes. Economic considerations primarily determine the evaluation of cost-benefit analysis, and participants' opinion tends to favor local benefits above broader national welfare when there is a competing expectation violation. The views of NGOs vary widely depending on their political stance as supporters or opponents, their affiliation with the government, and whether they are environmentalists. We suggest that the implementation of sustainable development goals (SDGs) in state-run development projects may be inadequate without external laws and monitoring mechanisms
Akrabalık ilişkilerinin geliştirilmesinde hadislerin rolü
Günümüzde aile yapısı ve akrabalık ilişkileri, hızla değişen dünya şartları ve modern yaşam tarzlarından etkilenerek dönüşüme uğramaktadır. Teknolojinin hızlı gelişimi, küreselleşme ve şehirleşme gibi faktörler, aile birimini zayıflatmakta ve akrabalık ilişkilerini azaltmaktadır. Bu durumun sonucunda, insanlar arasında yaşanan bağların zayıflaması, toplumun sosyal dokusunu da etkileyerek birçok sorunu beraberinde getirmektedir. Akrabalık ilişkileri, toplumların temel yapı taşlarından biridir ve insanların psikolojik, sosyal ve ekonomik gelişiminde büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Aile bireyleri arasındaki sevgi, saygı ve dayanışma gibi duygusal bağlar, akrabalık ilişkilerinin temelini oluşturur. Ayrıca, bu ilişkiler, insanların kimliklerini oluşturma sürecinde de büyük bir rol oynar. İslâm dini, akrabalık ilişkilerine büyük önem veren ve bu ilişkileri güçlendirmeyi teşvik eden bir dindir. Bu açıdan çalışmamızda yer verdiğimiz Kur’ân-ı Kerîm ve hadislerde akrabalık ilişkilerine dair pek çok öğüt ve tavsiye yer almaktadır.
