    Soren Kierkegaard Düşüncesinde Kendi Olmaklık

The concept of self has an important place in existential philosophy, which emphasizes the individual and existence. Because self will lead us to the answer to the question of what it means to be human. In the process of completing human existence, human participates in three types of existence: aesthetic existence, ethical existence and religious existence. According to him, to exist is to be either in aesthetics, ethics or religion. Living aesthetically is to imagine or dream one's own life in a world that is nothing but a stage or theater for the personalities produced. In the field of ethical existence, the individual has become aware of his own existence. He is not a slave to his pleasures, but an individual who realizes his existence with his free will. The last field that Kierkegaard included in the fields of existence is the field of religious existence. This field is the field where the theological self is revealed. What is really important for Kierkegaard is the God-individual relationship. Because neither the aesthetic nor the ethical realm of life completely encompasses our existence. While Kierkegaard states that these realms of existence of the human ego can be stages on the one hand, he also states that these stages do not necessarily occur for every individual, and determines them as a way of life. In this respect, it has a universal discourse for every human being in terms of determining himself and his way of existence.

Type-2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) can be managed by targeting carbohydrate hydrolases such as alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase. In this regard, a new 4-phenylthiazol-benzamide-1,2,3-triazole-N-phenylacetamide scaffold was designed via molecular hybridization (MH), and 15 derivatives (9a-o) were synthesized by changing the substituents on the phenyl ring of the N-phenylacetamide moiety. These compounds were evaluated as potent alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase inhibitors. The in vitro results indicated that the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of compounds 9a-o ranged from 10.71 to 42.35 nM against alpha-glucosidase and 49.17-81.94 nM against alpha-amylase while the IC50 values of the positive control acarbose against alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase were 62.03 and 105.44 nM, respectively. The most potent compound against both digestive enzymes was compound 9g with two methyl groups on positions 2 and 3 of the phenyl ring of the N-phenylacetamide moiety. Compound 9g was 5.79 and 2.14 times more potent than acarbose against alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase, respectively. The docking study showed that all the synthesized compounds (9a-o) attached to the active sites of alpha-glucosidase and alpha-amylase with lower binding energies in comparison to acarbose. Furthermore, according to the dynamics simulation, compound 9g established a stable complex with the active site of alpha-glucosidase

ObjectivesThe 12-item Self-Compassion Scale-Short Form (SCS-SF) is a widely used instrument for the assessment of self-compassion. To date, there have been few examinations of this instrument's psychometric properties, particularly across nations and languages. Therefore, we used data from the Body Image in Nature Survey (BINS) to assess measurement invariance of the SCS-SF across nations, languages, gender identities, and age groups.MethodsParticipants (N = 56,968) from 65 nations completed the SCS-SF in 40 languages. Using these data, we tested various hypothesised models of the SCS-SF in the total sample and, using multi-group confirmatory factor analysis, tested for invariance of the optimal model across national groups, languages, gender identities, and age groups.ResultsIn the total dataset, we found that an 11-item, 2-factor model (i.e., SCS-11) provided best fit to the data, with the two factors tapping distinct constructs of compassionate and uncompassionate self-responding. The SCS-11 was found to be partially scalar invariant across national groups and languages, and fully scalar invariant across gender identities and age groups. There was wide variation in latent means for the two factors, particularly across national groups and languages. Further analyses showed negligible associations between the two factors and sociodemographic variables, including marital status, financial security, and urbanicity.ConclusionsOur results suggest that it may be possible to derive a stable 2-factor model of the SCS-SF for use in cross-cultural research, but also highlight the likelihood of cross-national and cross-linguistic variations in the way that self-compassion is understood

The development of sustainable and energy-efficient construction materials is crucial for reducing environmental impact and improving building performance. This study investigates the effects of slaked lime (LM) and mahogany sawdust (MS) as partial replacements for fly ash (FA) and silica sand (SS) in one-part geopolymer foam concrete (GFC). Twelve mixtures were tested for fresh properties (flowability, density), mechanical performance (compressive and flexural strength), thermal insulation (thermal conductivity), and durability (water absorption, porosity, sorptivity, high-temperature resistance, freeze-thaw, and sulfate resistance). The results revealed that increasing LM content enhanced compressive strength, with the highest strength of 6.22 MPa achieved at 50 % LM and 100 % MS, representing a 202.92 % improvement compared to the reference mixture (2.06 MPa). Although the maximum compressive strength (6.22 MPa) is lower than conventional concrete, the developed GFCs are intended for non-structural, lightweight, and thermally insulating applications, where low density and high thermal performance are prioritized over structural load-bearing capacity. Flexural strength followed a similar trend, reaching 0.39 MPa, marking a 129.41 % increase over the reference. The incorporation of MS contributed to weight reduction, with the lowest oven-dry density recorded at 556 kg/m3 for the reference mixture, while the highest density was 1587 kg/m3 at 100 % MS and 50 % LM, showing a 185.32 % increase. Thermal conductivity values ranged from 0.113 W/mK (reference) to 0.197 W/mK (100 % MS, 50 % LM), indicating improved insulation properties at lower LM content. This corresponds to a 74.34 % increase in thermal conductivity, highlighting the densification effect of LM and MS incorporation. Water absorption and sorptivity decreased significantly with higher LM levels, with sorptivity dropping from 32.52 kg/m2 (reference) to 10.87 kg/m2 (100 % MS, 50 % LM). High-temperature resistance tests revealed that strength increased by up to 33.6 % at 200 degrees C but declined significantly at 800 degrees C, with the highest loss (46 %) occurring in high-MS-content mixtures. Freeze-thaw resistance was optimal at 0 % MS, where strength increased after 25 cycles, but higher MS content led to up to 57.6 % strength loss after 50 cycles. These findings demonstrate that an optimized LM-MS balance enhances mechanical, thermal, and durability performance, making geopolymer foam concrete a viable alternative for sustainable construction

The purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of science teachers, who are class guidance teachers, towards the Psychological Counseling and Guidance service and the services provided by this service in schools within the framework of the theory of planned behavior. According to the theory of planned behavior, attitude towards behavior, perceived behavioral control, subjective values and intention are effective in the emergence of a behavior. In this respect, it is suggested that determining teachers' attitudes towards Psychological Counseling and Guidance (PCG) services, perception of behavioral control, subjective values and norms, and working habits consisting of their intentions regarding the services offered in the organizational structure can affect their organizational decisions. In this context, the variables of attitude, subjective norm and perceived behavioral control, which are considered within the scope of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), were qualitatively evaluated. The data to be used in the study were obtained by applying an interview form containing open-ended questions to 15 teachers working in schools. The data obtained were qualitatively evaluated with descriptive statistics method. As a result, it was determined that the majority of the science teachers had a high level of support from the guidance service, especially in helping students through the reports prepared by the guidance service, cooperating with families, getting to know students and contributing to the solution of problems. In addition, it was concluded that teachers coordinate with the school guidance and counseling service and expect to maintain this relationship, and that the guidance service is important in terms of facilitating their work while carrying out activities. However, it was concluded that teachers were reluctant and inadequate in developing themselves in order to be effective in the field of guidance and counseling services and that they did not do the necessary work

The Mandate Palestine Period (1919-1948) represents a historical juncture marked by intense social and political transformations. This study examines the critical role of the press in these transformations, focusing specifically on the Mir’ât al-Sharq newspaper. Using Habermas’s concept of the “literary public sphere” as its theoretical framework, the research explores how literary publicity in Palestinian society took shape between 1919 and 1925, particularly in relation to the construction of political consciousness and spatial identities. The article aims to analyze the specific impact of the press on the formation of the public sphere in Mandate Palestine. It seeks to elucidate how Mir’ât al-Sharq mediated political, social, and cultural debates, fostered dialogue among diverse social groups, and contributed to the construction of a modern Palestinian identity. The research employs a content analysis methodology based on archival materials from the newspaper. Furthermore, it draws on secondary sources and academic studies on the history of Mandate Palestine to provide a deeper understanding of the sociopolitical context of the period. The study demonstrates that Mir’âtü’ş-Şark was not merely a source of news but a significant literary platform where public discussions in Mandate Palestine took shape. Beyond informing the public about local and global events, the newspaper played a pivotal role in raising political awareness, strengthening social solidarity, and reinforcing a sense of spatial belonging. In this context, Mir’ât al-Sharq was instrumental in shaping the political and cultural identity of modern Palestine. Future research could benefit from examining other periodicals alongside Mir’ât al-Sharq, offering a broader perspective on the dynamics of literary publicity during this period. Additionally, a comparative analysis of the transformations in Mandate Palestine’s press within the framework of social and political events could open new avenues for understanding continuities and ruptures between spatial and literary public spheres. © 2025 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved
