Hard X-ray Microscopy Enhanced by Coherent Image Reconstruction

improvements in the image reconstruction by using algorithms as computational lenses. In this work both approaches are combined to exploit the advantages of
X-ray imaging with a large numerical aperture and the advantages of coherent image reconstruction. It is shown that a combined X-ray microscope using
both, advanced optics and algorithms, is neither limited by flawed optics nor by constraints imposed by reconstruction algorithms, which enables to go beyond
current limits in resolution and applications.
The thesis is structured in four parts. In the first part hard X-ray lenses, so called multilayer zone plates, are simulated to investigate volume diffraction effects
within the multilayer structure, and to study the potential for smaller focus sizes and higher efficiencies. In the second part, the multilayer zone plates are
characterized and implemented in an X-ray microscope. In the third part, a new imaging scheme is presented, which combines in-line holography and coherent
diffractive imaging. This method overcomes the current resolution limit of in-line holography and can achieve super-resolution with respect to the numerical
aperture of the illuminating beam. Finally, in the fourth part a multilayer zone plate is used as an objective lens with a known transfer function in a novel

No full textSoftcover, 17x24Kurt Schwitters (1887-1948) wurde mit seiner „Merz“-Kunst als Vertreter der Dada-Bewegung bekannt – eine Einordnung, deren Prüfung Teil dieser Revision ist. „Merz“ umfasst das Prinzip Collage in Bild- und Schriftkunst sowie in performativen Ansätzen. Schwitters‘ Entwicklung von frühen Arbeiten bis zur „Merz“-Kunst wird neu untersucht. Neben Werkanalysen und Quellenkritik bieten lokal-, alltags- und kulturhistorische Kontextualisierungen sowie wissenschaftstheoretische Reflexionen Aufschluss über Forschungsfragen. Zur Befragung von Begriffen wie ‚Bürgerlichkeit‘ oder ‚politisch‘ treten Auseinandersetzungen mit dualistischen Narrativen wie gegenständlich/abstrakt, Impressionismus/Expressionismus, Innen/Außen – wie wirken sich solche Gegenüberstellungen auf das Verständnis von Schwitters‘ Werk aus? Ein breiter Blick auf Schwitters‘ Lebenswelt verdeutlicht Bedeutungen seiner Materialien, aber auch umwelthistorische Aspekte, das Utopische und die Notstände nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg. No full textHardcover, 21x27Die Geschichte und Kontext eines Stücks Landschaft zu kennen ist für planende Disziplinen (dazu gehört auch der Naturschutz und die Forstwirtschaft) eine leider vielfach vernachlässigte Notwendigkeit. So wie ein Arzt nur dann eine angemessene Therapie vorschlagen kann, wenn er die Vorgeschichte der Krankheit kennt, so kann über die möglichen bzw. sinnvollen Veränderungen zum Beispiel eines Waldes nur dann seriös nachgedacht werden, wenn die historischen, ökonomischen und sozialen Ursachen für dessen Entstehung und aktuellen Zustand beschrieben und verstanden sind. Die vorliegende Arbeit unternimmt diese verstehende Beschreibung für die noch reliktisch vorhandenen Eichen-Hainbuchenwälder und Buchenwälder in der Umgebung von Göttingen. Da Vegetationskunde hier als eine besondere Kunst, die Geschichte(n) und aktuellen Hintergründe eines Objektes zu erzählen, verstanden wird, bildet die vegetationskundliche Darstellung dieser Wälder aber lediglich die Basis für die Erzählung einer facettenreichen Geschichte.
Diese richtet ihr Augenmerk auf die historische Mittelwaldwirtschaft, den Kampf um deren Umwandlung in Buchenhochwald, sowie den dabei zugrundeliegenden Nachhaltigkeitsauffassungen verschiedenster Akteure. Zurückgegriffen wird dabei auf aktuelle, archivalische und historisch-zeitgenössische Literatur aus über 400 Jahren. Es ergibt sich ein eng verwobenes Netz aus der perfekten Einbindung der Mittelwaldwirtschaft in die historische bäuerliche Ökonomie, zahlreichen konkurrierenden Nachhaltigkeitsvorstellungen, deren Umsetzung im Kontext herrschaftlicher Machtansprüche für die Diffamierung anderer Wirtschaftsformen sorgte, aber auch aus sich stetig wandelnden Waldbaumoden, sowie der Entstehung und Nachwirkung von bis heute nie hinterfragten forstlichen Mythen und der Kurzsichtigkeit des modernen Naturschutzes.
Am Ende steht nicht nur die die „Entzauberung“ des „schönen Eichen-Hainbuchenwaldes“, sondern auch die des aktuell vorherrschenden Kalkbuchenwaldes, den man auch dank dessen Reichtums an bunten Frühjahrsgeophyten nicht nur hübsch, sondern gerne auch „natürlich“ nennt. Die interdisziplinäre Betrachtung legt aber den Schluss nahe, dass der Artenreichtum des Kalkbuchenwalds in Teilen die Folge der historischen, ehemals weit verbreiteten Mittelwaldwirtschaft ist, die in der Krautschicht zwar noch lange „nachhält“, aber in Zukunft ebenfalls verschwinden wird.Knowing the history and context of a piece of landscape is an unfortunately often neglected necessity for planning disciplines (including conservation and forestry). Just as a doctor can only suggest an appropriate therapy if he knows the antecedents of the disease, the possible or appropriate changes to, for example, a forest can only be seriously considered if the historical, economic and social causes for its creation and current state are described and understood. The present work undertakes this comprehensive description for the remaining oak-hornbeam forest relicts, and widespread beech forests near Göttingen. Since vegetation science is understood here as an art of telling the story(s) and current background of an object, the vegetation study of these forests, however, only forms the basis for telling a multifaceted story.
This story focuses on the historical coppice with standards forests, the struggle for their conversion into beech high forests, and the underlying sustainability views of various actors. Methodically, the author draws on current, archival and historical-contemporary literature from over 400 years. The result is a closely interwoven web consisting of: the perfect integration of coppice with standards into the historical economy, numerous competing notions of sustainability and their implementation in the context of sovereign power claims, as well as the resulting silvicultural change and the defamation of the coppice with standards forest. In the process, the creation and aftermath of myths that have never been questioned internally in forestry to this day, and the short-sightedness of current nature conservation are also uncovered.
The overall result is not only the "disenchantment" of the "beautiful oak-hornbeam forest", but also that of the currently predominant beech forest on limestone - a forest type that, thanks to its abundance of colourful spring geophytes, has been called not only pretty, but also "natural". However, interdisciplinary observation suggests that the species richness of these forests is in part the consequence of the historical, formerly widespread coppice with standards forestry, which "persists" in the herb layer for a long time, but will also disappear in the future

gruppe konkurrierte. Mit seiner ausgezeichneten Beobachtungsgabe und der Freude am Detail hat Heumann die Lebenswirklichkeit des Göttinger Straßenhandels und das neue Ambiente der Stadt authentisch eingefangen. Er stellte keine Typen von Straßenhändlern dar, sondern Individuen in ihrer Kleidung, ihrer Körpersprache, ihrem Warenangebot bzw. ihren Dienstleistungen, ihren niederdeutschen

und des etablierten Zunftwesens einnahm, welche Waren erwünscht und welche unerwünscht waren.The well-known artist Georg Daniel Heumann (1691-1759), who came from Nuremberg, had been appointed as a university copper engraver at the Georgia Augusta in Göttingen in 1740. Because of his interest in itinerant street traders, he became the creator of the Göttingischen Ausruff, a series of prints of 30 artistic etchings. They are a valuable documentation of itinerant trade in a Lower Saxon agrarian town that was becoming a university town and where the traditional rural range of goods competed with the needs of a more sophisticated section of the population. With his excellent powers of observation and delight in detail, Heumann authentically captured the reality of life in Göttingen's street trading and the new ambience of the city. He did not depict types of street vendors, but individuals in their dress, body language, range of goods or services, Low German exclamations, and the way they transported and offered their wares. In the commentary, the editor presents the status of street trading within the Göttingen market regulations and the established guild system, which goods were desired and which were undesirable.

Voraussetzung ist, dass die Approbation von vornherein nicht hätte erteilt werden dürfen, sei es weil die Anforderungen an die Ausbildung des künftigen Arztes nicht erfüllt waren, sei es weil charakterliche Mängel (Unwürdigkeit, Unzuverlässigkeit) einer Tätigkeit als Arzt entgegenstanden.
Obwohl praktisch selten ist die Rücknahme einer Approbation akademisch von besonderem Interesse, und zwar deshalb, weil sie letztlich dazu führt, dass der gesamten ärztlichen Tätigkeit des Betroffenen nachträglich die Rechtsgrundlage entzogen wird. Streng genommen wird folglich jeder einzelne ärztliche Heileingriff rechtswidrig, stellt also (unter Umständen) strafrechtlich eine Körperverletzung dar und begründet zivilrechtlich eine Schadensersatzhaftung.
Weder die strafrechtlichen noch die zivilrechtlichen Folgen einer Rückwirkung sind indes bislang auch nur ansatzweise in wissenschaftlich fundierter Weise untersucht worden. Diese Lücke soll mit der vorliegenden Arbeit zumindest für den Bereich des Zivilrechts geschlossen werden.It is rare for a physician to be disbarred; it is even rarer for the disbarment to have a retroactive effect back to the time of granting. The prerequisite for this effect is that the license to practice medicine should not have been granted in the first place, either because the requirements for the training of the future physician were not met or because character defects (unworthiness, unreliability) prevented the person concerned from working as a physician.
Although practically rare, the revocation of a license to practice medicine is of particular academic interest because it ultimately results in the entire medical activity of the person affected being subsequently deprived of its legal basis. Strictly speaking, in consequence, each medical intervention becomes unlawful, thus (under certain circumstances) constituting a bodily injury under criminal law as well as giving rise to liability for damages under civil law.
However, neither the criminal nor the civil law consequences of such retroactivity have yet been examined in a scientifically sound manner, even to a rudimentary degree. The present dissertation is intended to close this gap, at least in the area of civil law
