    Get PDF
This study aims to analyze the effect on stock prices. Company profit information which includes gross profit margin, operating profit margin, and net profit margin are variables that are thought to affect the 2012-2014 stock prices. The unit of analysis used is the Consumer Good Industry Company. Testing of this research was carried out using the classic assumption test, which consisted of 3 basic assumptions, namely normality, multicollinearity, and heteroscedasticity. After that, a multiple linear regression test is performed to determine the regression equation that shows the relationship of the dependent variable that is determined by two or more independent variables. The F-test is carried out to find out whether the three independent variables together have a significant effect on the dependent variable. And the last t-test is used to see the significance of the influence of individual independent variables on the dependent variable by assuming other variables are constant. The results showed simultaneously a positive and significant influence from net profit margin, operating profit margin, and gross profit margin on stock prices in Good Consumer Industry Company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, while partially net profit margin and gross profit margin were not there is a positive and insignificant influence on stock prices on Good Consumer Industry Company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, while operating profit margin, partially there is a positive and significant effect on stock prices on Good Consumer Industry Company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange on 2012-2014

    Get PDF
This study investigates the ethnic and cultural backgrounds of the University Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) personnel to determine the elements of uncertainty avoidance among the staff. As such, the study examines the respondents’ expectations of rules, changes, and creativity in uncertainty avoidance. This study also investigates the differences between respondents’ behaviour in High Uncertainty Avoidance (HUA) or Low Uncertainty Avoidance (LUA) and the extent to which these differences affect communication. Furthermore, this study employed mixed (qualitative and quantitative) methods as a research design, with ethnography as a research approach.  The study data were analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS Version 20) and thematic analysis for an in-depth exploration of the respondents. The result of the study showed that, regardless of ethnicity, common HUA values were shared in the observation of rules and regulations, which reflected the consensual agreement on the importance of observing rules. Concerning changes and adaptation, all the three ethnic groups indicated LUA, with only a small number indicating HUA in this matter. The Malay personnel indicated an especially high LUA, as the future was believed to be too intricate, ambiguous, unpredictable, and hostile for efficient planning. Regarding workplace creativity, all three ethnic groups indicated LUA, with only a small number indicating HUA in this matter. Nevertheless, it is made aware in this study that the results are not representative of the three ethnic populations in Malaysia

Conjugate Gradient (CG) method is a technique used in solving nonlinear unconstrained optimization problems. In this paper, we analysed the performance of two modifications and compared the results with the classical conjugate gradient methods of. These proposed methods possesse global convergence properties for general functions using exact line search. Numerical experiments show that the two modifications are more efficient for the test problems compared to classical CG coefficients

Meaningful and Memorable Learning: Integrating TPR and Youtube Videos to teach Vocabulary

    Get PDF
The teaching of vocabulary is very essential in teaching a particular language. In Indonesia, English is taught from kindergarten up to higher educations. Unfortunately not all of the teachers in those levels especially in kindergartens and primary schools major in English or at least have good English proficiency. That is why English Language Education Study Program, the Faculty of Teacher Trainings and Educational Sciences, Pakuan University always conducts community service to provide trainings to teachers from any part of the city. The first thing done before the community service was doing need analysis. In 2019, the result of the need analysis was the teaching of vocabulary which is fun and meaningful. 28 teachers were involved in this research. They were divided into two groups to conduct experiment. From the experiment, it is proven that the training given to the teachers increase their understanding about TPR and the teaching of vocabulary. The teachers were also given questionnaire to find out their perception on the use of TPR and YouTube and from the questionnaire the teachers think that  their knowledge on the teaching using TPR increased their knowledge and they can find benefits in using TPR and YouTube in the classroom namely: the use of TPR itself can help them accommodate students’ different learning styles, teach vocabulary in context so that it is more meaningful, and the teaching learning situation becomes more fun.

THE GARCH MODEL VOLATILITY OF SHARIA STOCKS ASSOCIATED CAUSALITY WITH MARKET INDEX

    Get PDF
The purpose of this paper is to examine the volatility of Islamic stocks related to the causality of the composite stock price index (CSPI). The aim is to investigate the causality of several levels of stock returns with the movement of the CSPI, and determine its volatility as a measure of risk. To determine the causality relationship is done by using the granger causality test method, with Vector Autoregressive (VAR) modeling. Whereas to determine the volatility is done using the Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedastisiy (GARCH) model approach. The results of the causality test show that there is a direct relationship that affects and is influenced by the CSPI, and the relationship that affects each other between the company\u27s stock market and the movement of the CSPI. While the volatility follows the GARCH model (1, 1). Based on the results of this study are expected to be used as consideration in making investment decisions in the analyzed stocks

Application of Linear Programming in Oil Production Distribution Networks: Literature Review

    Get PDF
In the oil production distribution network, there are three main nodes, namely the supply node, the transshipment node, and the demand node. The pattern of distribution of oil production from the supply node to the demand node is very diverse and can affect the costs to be incurred. Therefore, a company must be able to determine the right distribution pattern, so that the costs incurred are optimal. This paper intends to conduct a study of how to determine and calculate the distribution patterns and the minimum total costs incurred, using the primal-dual linear program method. Based on the results of the case analysis, it is known that the number of supply commodities will be the same as the number of demand commodities, but the distribution from each source does not necessarily have the same capacity and costs. Therefore, the distribution pattern is determined based on the existing cost and capacity, so that cost optimization can be achieved

ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF COASTAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH FISHERMAN INSURANCE

    Get PDF
The current condition of fishermen in Indonesia is still far from prosperous, especially small fishermen who generally have an income of less than one million/month. Fishermen are faced with constraints on the characteristics of their fishing business which depend on climate change, weather uncertainty, and sea waves, so they pose a high risk. This affects the low income of these fishermen because fishermen working hours are very dependent on the weather so if the sea waves are high or other bad weather, fishermen are forced not to go to sea. Therefore, it is necessary to protect fishermen through fisherman insurance. Currently, the government has been trying to increase the target of fish production and consumption through protection and welfare for fishermen. One of the efforts to improve fishermen\u27s welfare is a work program that guarantees protection against risks to fishermen, fish cultivators, and salt farmers. This program targets 1 million insurance for fishermen spread across the territory of the Republic of Indonesia. One of the government\u27s efforts to protect fishermen and their families is through the provision of Insurance Premium Assistance for Fishermen. This effort is intended to provide guaranteed protection against risks experienced by fishermen, such as death, permanent disability, and medical costs; as well as provide awareness of insurance for fishermen. However, currently, fishermen\u27s income is not included in the risk guarantee from the fishermen’s insurance program. Even though the income of fishermen is one of the criteria for measuring the economy of coastal communities who work as fishermen and indirectly can determine the maritime economy. Therefore, we as academics intend to conduct training and socialization of economic empowerment of fishing communities based on knowledge, skills, and potential in Cirebon Fishermen Village through Community Service programs. The material that will be provided in this Community Service activity is related to the economic empowerment of fishermen communities and community-based fisherman insurance. This material will be given to the workshop session both to the local community

Design Multi Input Automatic Identifier System Class B for Indonesian Fishery

    Get PDF
The need for technology that can help Indonesian fishermen is needed to improve fishing yields. Based on BPS data Indonesian fishermen dropped from 1.7 million to 64 thousand in 2013. This is due to several factors, including unfavorable professions for fishermen. This is insufficient fishing equipment for fishing. One of them is the need for navigation tools that are easily understood by traditional fishermen and in accordance with the needs in fishing.we propose the design of Class B\u27s Automatic Identifier System (AIS) to help fishermen navigate and find fish points. In this system we also propose determining the point of fish based on information from fishermen who are collectively collected by the fishermen. With this design it is hoped that the fish point can be shared with other fishermen. The result this design, it is expected to be able to assist fishermen in navigating using AIS so that fisherman security with AIS system with multiple sensor can be improved find the point of fish obtained from sending data from several fishermen and collect data weather for safety

A New Way to Identify Thin Sheet Behaviour: Micro-In Def

    Get PDF
Incremental forming is a rapid prototyping process which uses a forming tool toform a sheet metal according to a predetermined trajectory. In this work, a micro incremental deformation test (Micro InDef test) derived from the principle of single point incremental sheet forming is developed and proposed. A complex mechanical loading is applied and has a strong potential for the identication of inelastic behavior using inverse method. In the rst part, this work addresses the parameters identication and validation procedures of ductile damage behavior of ultra-thin sheet metal under very large strain during this instrumented Micro InDef test. An inverse nite element method based on the comparison between numerical and experimental axial forming forces of the micro incremental deformation test is employed to extract a coupled ductile damaged plastic model. In the second part, the objective is to prove the reliability of ductile damage parameters identication using forming force. The richness of data contained in forming force is quantied and compared to the one from tensile test. Firstly, the verication of the estimated parameter\u27s reliability is done via a simple analysis based on the forming force sensitivity to material parameters and secondly by calculating elastoplastic and elastoplastic with ductile damage
