Estimation of the Extreme Distribution Model of Economic Losses Due to Outbreaks Using the POT Method with Newton Raphson Iteration

    Get PDF
Extreme distribution is the distribution of a random variable that focuses on determining the probability of small values in the tail areaof the distribution. This distribution is widely used in various fields, one of which is reinsurance. An outbreak catastrophe is non-natural disaster that can pose an extreme risk of economic loss to a country that is exposed to it. To anticipate this risk, the government of a country can insure it to a reinsurance company which is then linkedto bonds in the capital market so that new securities are issued, namely outbreakcatastrophe bonds. In pricing, knowledge of the extreme distribution of economic losses due to outbreak catastrophe is indispensable. Therefore, this study aims to determine the extreme distribution model of economic losses due to outbreak catastrophe whose models will be determined by the approaches and methods of Extreme Value Theory and Peaks Over Threshold, respectively. The threshold value parameter of the model will be estimated by Kurtosis Method, while the other parameters will be estimated with Maximum Likelihood Estimation Method based on Newton-Raphson Iteration. The result of the research obtained is the resulting model of extreme value distribution of economic losses due to outbreak catastrophe that can be used by reinsurance companies as a tool in determining the value of risk in the outbreak catastrophe bonds

Wireless Chaos-Based Communication System: Literature Review

    Get PDF
Since the early 1990s, a slew of chaotic-based communication systems have been proposed, all of which take advantage of chaotic waveform properties. The inspiration stems from the substantial benefits that this form of nonlinear signal offers. Many communication schemes and applications have been specifically designed for chaos-based communication systems to achieve this goal, with energy, data rate, and synchronization awareness being taken into account in most designs. However, non-coherent chaos-based systems have recently received a lot of attention in order to take advantage of the benefits of chaotic signals and non-coherent detection while avoiding the use of chaotic synchronization, which has poor performance in the presence of additive noise. This paper provides a thorough examination of all wireless radio frequency chaos-based communication systems. It begins by describing the difficulties of chaos implementations and synchronization processes, then moves on to a thorough literature review and study of chaos-based coherent techniques and their applications

    Get PDF
Climate change could lead to an increase in diseases in plants and animals. Plant pathogens have caused devastating production losses, such as in tropical countries. The development of algorithms that match the accuracy of plant and animal disease detection in predicting the toxicity of substances has continued through a massive database. Data and information from 10,000 substances from more than 800,000 animal tests have been carried out to generate the algorithms. Plant and animal disease detection using artificial intelligent in the modern ecological era is important and needed. Diseases in animals are still found in several Ruminant-Slaughterhouses. The purpose of the study is to identify the leverage attributes for using of Artificial Intelligent (AI) in detecting plant pests and animal diseases. The use of Multidimensional Scaling (MDS) produces a leverage attribute for the use of AI in detecting plant pests and animal diseases. The results showed that leverage attributes found were: Prediction of the presence of proteins structures produced by pathogens with a Root Mean Square (RMS) value of 4.5123; and Plant and Animal Disease Data will be opened with an RMS value of 4.2555. The findings of this study in the real world are to produce the development of smart agricultural applications in detecting plant pests and animal diseases as an early warning system. In addition, the application is also useful for eco-tourism managers who have a natural close relationship with plants and animals, so that ecological security in the modern ecological era, can be better maintained

    Get PDF
The purpose of this research is to analyze the linkage between young workers and macroeconomic variables in Indonesia through a cointegration and causality approach. Multivariate causality between these variables. Using ARDL panel regression (Auto-Regressive Distributed Lag) with data from 2005 – 2019 covering 33 provinces in Indonesia. The results showed that the variable government expenditure on education had no effect on young workers in the short and long term, the variable economic growth only had a positive and significant effect on young workers in the long term. The increase in the minimum wage has a significant negative effect on young workers in the short term, and vice versa, it has a positive and significant effect on the long term. The last variable that has an effect is the investment variable which has a negative and significant effect in the short term on young workers. The results of multivariate causality testing between the variables above have the result that young workers have a two-way causal relationship with the minimum wage and have a one-way relationship with government spending on education

Zina Act Review from Islamic Law in Bandar Sinembah Village Tanjung Morawa

    Get PDF
Zina is an illegal sexual relationship carried out by a man and a woman outside the marriage bond. The prohibition of adultery, both contained in the Qur\u27an and hadith, in addition to enjoining good and evil, is also intended to maintain offspring and/or honor. Humans were created by Allah SWT as cultural creatures (civilized). As a cultured creature, the biological impulses of humans are arranged in such a way with various living institutions. Even though humans are biological creatures, human sex life is different from animal sex behavior. The definition of adultery according to Islamic law is different from the meaning of adultery (overspel/adultery) in the Indonesian Criminal Code, or adultery in the Pakistan Criminal Code and the Indian Criminal Code. One of the primary objectives of Islamic law, (maqosid al-Shariah) is to protect offspring, human honor and human existence. It is not easy to prove the occurrence of adultery. To accuse someone of adultery requires at least four witnesses who saw the act. (Surat an-Nuur verse 4). In order to impose sanctions/criminal stoning (Sura An-Nuur verse 2-3) and (Sura An-Nissa verse 15) according to the principle of Legi a posterior derogat legi a priori, the punishment for stoning in the hadith has been included by Surah An-Nuur verse 2-3 and Surah An-Nissa verse 15. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with the aim of providing an overview and knowledge to the Muslim community in the village of Bandar Sinembah, Tanjung Morawa. Before the research was conducted, it was found that the people in the village of Bandar Sinembah, Tanjung Morawa, which consisted of multi-ethnic groups did not fully understand the meaning of adultery according to Islamic teachings due to their low and lack of knowledge about the religion of Islam. After doing research and approaches, the village of Bandar Sinembah has begun to understand the meaning of adultery according to Islamic teachings, and now slowly they have left this bad habit

Study on Structural Equation Modeling for Analyzing Data

    Get PDF
Structural Equation Model (SEM) is a combination of two separate statistical methods, namely factor analysis developed in psychology and psychometry and simultaneous equation model developed in econometrics. Factor analysis was first introduced by Galton in 1869 and Pearson (Pearson and Lee, 1904). Spearman\u27s (1904) research is the development of a general factor analysis model in his research relating to the structure of mental abilities, Spearman stated that the intercorrelation test between mental abilities can determine general ability factors and special ability factors. SEM is a combination of factor analysis and path analysis into one comprehensive statistical method. Path analysis itself is the forerunner of the structural equation of Sewwl Wright\u27s research in the field of biometrics. Wright\u27s contribution is to be able to show that the correlation between variables is related to the parameters of a model described by a path (path diagram). In SEM there are 2 variables, namely latent variables (exogenous and endogenous) and indicator variables. SEM has 2 equation models, namely the measurement equation model and the structural equation model. SEM also has 2 errors, namely the error for the measurement equation model and the error for the structural equation model. In general, SEM is formed from the relationship between latent variables and their respective indicator variables. To test whether the existing indicator variables are valid indicators for measuring the latent construct, Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) is used. Data analysis with SEM must meet the existing SEM assumptions. The model feasibility test is carried out based on the goodness of fit criteria. The stages in SEM analysis are theoretical model development, flow chart drawing, flow chart conversion into equation form, input matrix and model parameter estimation techniques, model problem identification, evacuating model parameter estimates, model interpretation and model modification

This study analyzes the influence of certain economic sectors on poverty levels in districts/cities in Aceh Province. The determination of the economic sector is based on the 4 largest contributions to the economy in Aceh. The economic sector in question is the agriculture, trade, construction, and processing industry sectors. So that the purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of selected economic sectors, namely the agricultural sector, the trade sector, the construction sector, and the manufacturing sector on poverty levels in Aceh. This study uses panel data from 23 districts/cities in Aceh Province for the period 2010-2019 and the data used is the percentage of poverty and data on the distribution of the percentage of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) by business field. The results obtained from this study are that all independent variables, namely the agricultural sector, the trade sector, the construction sector, and the manufacturing sector have a significant negative effect on the poverty level. This can be seen from the F test probability of 0.00. partially the agricultural sector reduced the poverty rate by 0.71 percent. trade sector 0.48 percent. the construction sector reduces poverty by 0.51 percent and the manufacturing sector reduces poverty by 0.67 percent. Therefore, it is hoped that the government can work together with other policymakers to improve the manufacturing sector both in agriculture and other fields to increase the productivity of society to alleviate poverty

The population increase and regional development are causes of decreasing agricultural land. For supporting agricultural land protection, Sukabumi City issued a Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2016 concerning Sustainable Food Agricultural Land Protection Policy in Sukabumi City (LP2B) which determines 321 ha land as eternal agricultural land. This study examines a level LP2B policy implementation in Sukabumi City. Factors that will be considered: the level of land readiness as LP2B, the level of an implementation incentive program, the level of response and availability of farmers, and the level of infrastructure and information systems readiness. The analytical method used is a descriptive method through collecting data by interviewed farmers, government and reviewing documents related to LP2B policies. The results of the study show that for land readiness, in early 2021 Sukabumi city is ready for about 10.024% % from total planned land. For the implementation of LP2B incentive program, the majority of farmers has not experienced the incentive program. For the farmer’s response and availability, the majority of farmers does not know about LP2B policy, 80% of owner farmers are ready to provide their land into LP2B with some conditions. The availability of irrigation infrastructure in Sukabumi City is very good, where more than 75% of respondents rice fields has an irrigation system. Related to LP2B information system, Sukabumi City has issued a Mayor Regulation Number 8 of 2018 concerning LP2B Information System in Sukabumi City, but this system has not been optimal in providing basic information that is required to exist in a LP2B information system

Current Sensorless Microcontroller-Based Battery Management System with SOC and Active Cell Balancing

    Get PDF
Battery management system (BMS) has become an important research topic following the trend and development of the electric vehicle. Although research on Active Cell Balancing, SOC, and current estimation has been carried out, the previous work mostly focused on comparing and developing methods. In this research, we demonstrate the process of designing BMS hardware using a low-cost microcontroller and without using a current sensor. The SOC simulation results produce an RMSE of 0.0832% for the 100% -10% SOC-OCV curve, and the current estimation simulation produces an RMSE of 0.2576 A, while for testing using a 6-ohm pulse load, the RMSE error value is 0.3960 A. The Active Cell Balancing method was successfully performed in simulation with Simulink. Furthermore, our simulation and test results suggest that complex battery models and multiple SOC-OCV curves can be used for better current and OCV estimation results. Our experimental results are also useful to develop a guideline to design a microcontroller-based BMS
