    Get PDF
The primary objective of this reserach was to examine the essential internal factors that affect stock prices by utilizing Return on Equity (ROE) and Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) as independent variables, while Price to Book Value (PBV) was considered as an intervening variable. The focus of the study was on companies listed in the LQ45 index on the Indonesia Stock Exchange from 2018 to 2022. The data was analyzed using panel data regression through the REM, with support from Eviews 12 software. Path analysis was also employed to test hypotheses and gain deeper insights. The research findings indicate that only ROE significantly affects stock prices both directly and indirectly, while DPR doesnt have a significant influence on the fluctuations of stock prices. Additionally, PBV cannot mediate the effect of ROE and DPR on stock prices. This suggests that other factors can affect stock prices in the Indonesian capital market. It is crucial to consider a representative sample of companies and additional variables to gain deeper insight into the factors leading to share prices

    Get PDF
The impact of firm-level corporate governance challenges on sustainable development requires attention, particularly in developing countries. This qualitative study explores factors contributing to South African firms\u27 poor CG performance and the implications of firm-level CG challenges towards attaining SDGs in South Africa. It employs a rapid review methodology to search and review selected articles systematically. Content analysis is used to draw findings. Results reveal that historical, economic, lack of critical scholarship and weak regulatory enforcement and oversight factors affect South African corporate governance practices. Notably, a lack of reform in the corporate governance architecture underpins most of the challenges firms experience regarding corporate governance practices. These results can be linked to slow progress towards realising sustainable development goals (SDG) targets from achieving socioeconomic equality, board diversity, jobs, poverty alleviation and justice for all. This study contributes to scholarship on the intersectionality between CG, SDGs, and existing challenges that restrict the business sector from fully contributing to national development. In South Africa, the study also reviews progress towards strengthening the CG fabric in the post-apartheid era

    Get PDF
This study highlights the important role of digitalization and human resource management in strengthening the resilience of MSMEs in Cirebon City. Using a quantitative approach based on SEM-PLS, this study analyzed 173 MSMEs in the culinary sector. The results show that digitalization has a positive impact on the resilience of MSMEs, although the effect is not as great as the role of human resource management. The R-square value of 0.652 indicates that these two factors together explain 65.2% of the variation in MSME resilience. Therefore, this study recommends strengthening digitalization strategies and improving the quality of human resource management through training and supportive policies, in order to improve the competitiveness and sustainability of MSMEs in the face of economic and social dynamics in the digital era

The Role of ESG, Fundamental Factors, and Market Perception on Financial Performance: Evidence from LQ45 Firms in Indonesia

    Get PDF
This research is conducted with the objective of empirically analyzing how sustainability elements and core corporate characteristics influence the financial performance of issuers listed on the LQ45 index at the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2019 and 2023. The focus of the investigation lies in exploring the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) scores, capital structure metrics, Earnings per Share (EPS), firm scale, and market-based valuation indicators on profitability, measured through Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). Adopting a quantitative research approach, this study applies panel data regression techniques. The sample selection process utilizes purposive sampling, emphasizing the availability of complete annual reports, sustainability disclosures, and ESG ratings obtained from Sustainalytics. From a total of 225 observations, 169 datasets met the stringent criteria for thorough examination. The results highlight that prudent management of capital structure combined with strong market valuation significantly boosts corporate profitability. Conversely, the incorporation of ESG practices does not uniformly translate into immediate financial gains and, in certain cases, may even detract from profitability levels. Additionally, the analysis indicates that firms with larger asset bases may experience a decline in operational efficiency, suggesting that mere expansion in size does not inherently enhance financial outcomes. These findings provide valuable insights into the expanding body of literature addressing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) and corporate financial performance within emerging market environments. Furthermore, they offer practical recommendations for regulators, corporate leaders, and investors aiming to design more integrated, sustainability-oriented financial strategies

Analysis The Effect Of Volatility On Potential Losses Mutual Fund Investments Using The ES-GARCH Method

    Get PDF
Investing in mutual funds has become a popular choice for investor who looking to participate in the capital markets with more diversified risk. However, the success of mutual fund investments depends on investors understanding the potential losses and opportunities that may arise during the investment period. Analyzing the risk of mutual fund investments is fundamental in helping investors comprehend potential losses. Therefore, research is conducted to understand potential losses by estimating asset price volatility and determining the maximum possible losses. The Expected Shortfall (ES) method proves useful in measuring downside risk and extreme loss potential in investments, but it is less effective in addressing nonlinear trends and the complexity of volatility patterns. Hence, a combination of the Expected Shortfall (ES) and Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) methods is employed to measure the risk of mutual fund investments. The research findings indicate that volatility has a positive impact on Value at Risk (VaR), and the potential maximum losses (ES) increase with higher volatility, indicating a greater risk

Application of Genetic Algorithm on Knapsack Problem for Optimization of Goods Selection

    Get PDF
Knapsack Problemis one of the combinatorial optimization problems that often arise in everyday life, especially in making decisions about selecting goods with limited capacity. This study combines two previous studies that apply genetic algorithms to real cases: the selection of basic necessities and packaged fruits in limited containers. Genetic algorithms are used because they are flexible and able to find more than one optimal solution. The process includes the formation of an initial population, fitness evaluation, selection (roulette wheel), crossover, and mutation. From the two case studies analyzed, it was found that genetic algorithms consistently produce increased fitness between generations and are able to maximize the value of goods without exceeding capacity or budget limits. This study strengthens the potential of genetic algorithms as an effective method in solving Knapsack Problems based on real needs
